So, I have been away and unfortunately I missed my oppurtunity to talk about Nintendo's spectacular 125th Anniversary. That's right Nintendo has gone from small trading card and toy company to a worldwide video game juggernaut. This my friends is an amazing feat. Through all the troubled times Nintendo has kept going for a century and a quarter. And I know that as a fan (often called a fanboy) I have to say Nintendo....Don't change a thing.

I know I have my problems with Nintendo. It's sold me on pointless peripherals, countless updates to its handhelds, and home consoles with a stunning lack of third party support. But I keep coming back.l I guess I should reflect on my experience with Nintendo.

It all started with the NES when I was 5. I thought it was the coolest thing. I was raised on Mario and Duck Hunt in a 2 in 1 pack in title. Then of course watching my older brother play Zelda got me into exploring the vast screens of Hyrule. I had no idea what I was doing. I just enjoyed going around and hit octoroks and moblins with my sword. The same can't be said of my experience with Zelda II. I played it once, got lost in Death Mountain and died. Of course I never figured any of it out and never would...after all I was a small kid.

And like any small child I got a Game Boy. The battery draining Game boy was my favorite thing ever. Super Mario Land, Tetris, Pokemon, and more. I even had a little case for all my Game Boy games. Then came the Super Nintendo and I had a Game boy player for it....so whenever my Game Boy didn't have batteries, boom play Game Boy games on my Super Nintendo Super Game Boy cart. And when I wasn't busy with that I was busy with Super Mario World and Chrono Trigger.

As I grew older I gained more Nintendo consoles and games. I got a N64 while my older brother had a Playstation. I admit I was a little jealous. Sure I had games like Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, but again I just couldn't figure out how to beat them. I liked my brother's Final Fantasy games at this point. Just watching him and watching the cutscenes. I wondered where that was in my mario games.

Regardless I grew up and got a Gamecube. Now I was older, wiser, able to beat Zelda...this time Wind Waker. I also fully beat Super Mario Sunshine. I got Mario Party, Star Fox Adventures, and various others. I acquired a unique taste in my games. And with a Game Boy Advance I got to go back and replay games I was unable to beat as a kid with Super Mario Advance and added new games.

I then went and bought a Nintendo Wii. I didn't purchase a DS however, as I was slowly getting less time to play games. I had become the casual gamer I so dreaded! I don't even mind my Wii U! Yes the Wii U...what essentially is a Nintendo only fare console is one of my favorite systems this generation. You may ask why? What about the games?

The thing is...I have no time. I've grown up from the gamer who played endlessly day and night 100% beating games. So what if there are no 3rd party developers on board? I have all the games I need. heck, I haven't even had the time to beat the games I have bought. So there you have it. Nintendo you made me the mindless and dreaded casual gamer you molded me into, but I'm not happy about it I tell you! Oh what's that? Captain Toad is coming? Yoshi's Woolly World? Kirby & The Rainbow Curse?

Your experience with Zelda and Zelda II on NES is very much like mine with those games at age 24. lol

I'm going to be Nintendo gamer for as long as I can hold it. Even with PC gaming now part of my life, i'm going to get a Wii U no mather what.
