easily the cheapest, most bullshit boss fight in Dark Souls II. Beating it is the only thing standing in the way of my platinum. I hit his bitch ass with a shot of Outcry...then 3 Flame Swathes...then 3 Dance Of Fire shots....and he still didn't go down.

Huh. This is my favourite boss in Dark Souls 2 tbh, mainly because it was actually interesting. It telegraphs it's attacks really well, sets them up in a way you can learn the patterns of it, and... well I jut love it. It is difficult, sure, but cheap? I don't think so.
Also, he's really weak against lightning.

Dude. I didn't say he was easy. I just said I loved the fight - more for the atmosphere and the fact that it was doing something different to the other fights in the game.
he's not "really weak" against lightning anymore...with 60 in FAI and a fully upgraded witchtree chime I was only nailing him for 97 damage with a shot of lightning spear.
I know they nerfed Chaos Storm, but man, I totally annihilated him with that when I beat him. Once he got to the point of splitting, I dropped that shit and it did crazy damage to him. Leading up to that, I hung back and threw fire at him to take his life down.
Not sure if that strategy is still any good, but I took him down with relative ease that way.
I'm probably not fighting him correctly. Best I've done thus far is had him (them) down to half health.
I'm gonna keep at it.
I was wondering what you PSN status update was all about. Hope you get it eventually.
the run up to that boss is fucken EVIL, Sonic. I've been so used to steamrolling the other bosses in the game (save the Pursuer, and the bosses in the DLC) that I've seemingly balked when a challenge has been presented. I'll get it eventually!
