I have a holiday tree done up for St. Paddys. I've been wondering whether or not the Nexus 7 is worth it. So, uh... is it?
iOS Gaming Update

Hello Pixlbit! As I type my latest entry we had a minor shaker here in SoCal, and it was a 5.1. Not bad and the running joke among my friends is that you know who’s from here when an Earthquake hits, and they don’t get up. In fact during this shaker, I continued working on a project on Photoshop.
When the Earth is not shaking, I needed to type up this blog because a certain series is going to be released tomorrow and I’ll will be parked in front of a TV playing what I like to call: Kratos is Pissed! Aside from the NCAA Football, this (and GTAV) will be the only games I pick up on release day at full retail. My normal rule is wait for the price drop because it always comes (looks at Tomb Raider and it will drop before I buy it). So before my gaming time gets sucked away I thought I’d give a little update to what I am playing on the tablets, primarly the iOS stuff (my Simpsons game on my Nexus 7 is still the same because EA is being lazy)
My current Springfield. I have everything the way I want it, with the exception of a small section by Burns Manor, which will probably change once the next update is released.
Here are some of the crazy priced premium items. I added these to the back of Springfield because they take up so much space. I thought it would be funny to have the magnifying glass set fire to the tower of popsicle sticks. Right next to it is the escalator to nowhere.
The latest update involves St. Patrick’s Day. This is pretty cool because it gets into the whole theme with
Dyeing the water green, kinda like Chicago does
Dare I say this could be a clue to where Springfield is?
With this update there are two new characters to unlock (the Leprechaun is a premium character aka donuts unlock him). O’Flanagan also comes with a pub and one of the jobs is to get 12 of the characters in game to drink there. Right after I finish this blog, I need to collect the cash and XP from this job and continue the special jobs for St. Patrick’s Day.
As I unlocked pretty much everything in game, I’ve slowed down playing a bit, but I still do check on Springfield every four hours when the majority of towns folk complete their jobs, and the pink houses are ready to be taxed. The brown houses I use as a wall are ready every six minutes but I usually just check them every three hours as well.
My current stats. The one thing I’m waiting for EA to do is increase the number of friends in my friends list. I’d like to add more folks but I hit the 100 limit, so I’ve been taking some folks off who haven’t played in an a while.
This is another themed Temple Run game that I got sucked into for a buck. Just like Temple Run Brave, Temple Run Oz adds a twist to the Temple Run Gameplay, but still has the core of a Temple Run.
In TROz, you still run but now you’re chased by flying monkeys and still collect coins. Just like TR Brave, there’s a special twist. For Brave you shot arrows at targets on the sides of the screen, for Oz, you jump into a hot air balloon and while avoiding gems in the sky, collect coins.
The other new thing I noticed is that you can unlock the multipliers instead of buying them in TR2 (from what I remember at least).
The big question: Is Temple Run Oz worth the buck? I’ve played a couple of games and I have to say it’s worth the buck. Any more and you might just want to stick to the freebie Temple Run, and Temple Run 2, but this game adds a new dimension to the series, and is a fun movie tie-in game.
The Temple Run games on my phone get their own screen
This is another game I was made aware of because it plays like Need For Speed Shift. I really liked Shift, so much so that I bought the DLC for the first one. I haven’t played NFSS2 yet on the console, but I do enjoy it on the iPad. Hopefully I’ll get around to playing this one, and having some thoughts about it in my next blog (it’ll be my break game from Kratos is Pissed)
Speaking of Most Wanted, I started another game on the iPad. I really should just finish the game on my Nexus 7, especially since I need 4 of the NFS cars, and a handful of the regular cars, but here I go again. I’m really going to be burned out of the series once I finally get around to playing the console version.
Finally in non gaming news, it has been windy around these parts, and one day while at Target I decided to take advantage of this
I bought a mini kite. I figured that since I like to sit outside, why not fly a kite from my seat? Well the mini kite didn’t really have enough wind (I didn’t want to take a running start to get my kite in the air) so it hovered a bit, before falling.
This is the kite and it has a mile long tail. The positives were that I spent $2 bucks on the kite, and it came with everything including string. Well back to some graphics projects that need to be finished!
That’s all for now, more later!
