ha ha, that Texans joke....
those are some dope comics. I miss buying comics but every time I do I'm disappointed. I guess I'd rather just wallow in nostalgia.

Greetings and Happy Friday Pixlbiticans! The weekend is finally here (almost for some of you good people). Any fun weekend plans? The weather is supposed to be getting cooler but apparently the local weather thinks high 90s-low 100s is cool. Anyways while walking around the local swapmeet this song came on
Oh I know you started doing what I did
Yeah I did the Ric Flair WOOOOOOOOOO! Yup in the car, and in the parking lot just to make sure I got it right. WOOOOOOOOOO!
Since it is Friday, it is time for another Quick Hits with Chris. Yes the fun time blog where the topics are usually not really game related and stuff I bought. Let’s get started!
Chris Forgot To Mention The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
Last week was the season finale of what I like to call “The Greatest Reality Show About Professional Cheerleaders,” Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team 9. Yes you follow the squad as they go from open auditions to the final cuts and into their first performance. There is a lot of crying, yes ma’am’s, talking into iPhones, and stories of random hopefuls. Last year there was one girl who was the media favorite and she lasted up until the uniform fitting…and then got cut.
This season, she lasted up until the episode before the season finale…and got cut.
I’m hoping at some point in the show, when Coach Kelli cuts a hopeful, she’ll say something like “You’re good enough for the Texans squad, but not for us”.
Wait Hulk Hogan Is In Crazy Taxi?
While waiting for my army to be created in Star Wars Commander, and my Justice League fighters to recharge their energy I spotted the new icon on my iPad and finally decided to play Crazy Taxi and this guy was there
Apparently for a week, you can rent the Hulkster and his 24 inch pythons, because Whatcha Gonna Do, When the Hulkster Runs Wild On You. Ok the second part is a flashback from my youth watching the red and yellow Hulk Hogan beat up on some scrub and then did an interview with Mean Gene.
Hulk Hogan is in the game, and try this game out.
Ok time for Pickups!
Pickups
Games
Last week on my way back from town I stopped at a GameStop and did my usual let’s see what they got. While looking at the back wall where they keep the 3DS stuff and Wii accessories I spot this
I’m excited because I never see these in any of the local spots, and even the employee is a bit shocked to see it on the floor. I now have a decent controller for my Wii, which I have turned into the mini retro game player thanks to YouTube. I could have played old NES games with the Wii controller but I needed this controller for the 16-bit and above stuff along with a game I bought from Club Nintendo a while ago.
My control of this game from late 90s Chris to today hasn’t changed, I still suck. I need more practice.
Yesterday’s trip to the same GameStop with a friend I found more fun stuff.
This was on the bargain table, and its time to try this version of Metal Gear.
More bargain bin stuff! I already own and passed Crackdown, but my copy was digital so I have a physical copy! I never tried this Just Cause but if its anything like the second one, I’m going to have some fun.
I have Viva Pinata in a dual game set, but seeing this version, I wanted it in the library. Its complete with the 48 hour XBox Live card so I can’t complain, and it has the bonus disc with the demos
I’ve decided that I will only hit the local mid week swapmeet because they have better stuff, and there are more vendors. I made this decision after my WOOOOOOOOOO’s in the parking lot. The majority of vendors still think a sun bleached copy of a PS3 game is $30 but there are a couple of folks who have stuff at a decent price
From a couple in the back of the swapmeet who was selling video games and car radios I found the Dreamcast stuff. I went the week before but didn’t jump on the Fishing Rod because I was saving my cash for the Lego lady. She didn’t have any Lego this week, so I went back for the rod. The Fishing Rod was $7 bucks because all controllers she was selling was $7. The Dreamcast games were $5 each. I was excited because I’ve never seen Omikron, and I liked Virtua Fighter. I think I did well for under $20. The discs are scratch free, and the Fishing Rod needs a little cleaning.
While looking for Lego Lady, I spotted the two Game Boy games from a random vendor. He wanted $5 each, which I thought, was a little steep so I said thanks and started walking away. He said make me an offer, I said $7 for both, and he said done. Usually I’ll try and lower the price but if the vendor seems a little standoffish I’ll say thanks and move on.
Music
CD Saturday was a success. The local music store had some new stuff on their $1.99 wall
I used to listen to this Dane Cook album all the time, so it was nice to finally have a physical copy. Corona was a mid 90s buy because of title song that reminds me of high school and A Night At The Roxbury. The rest of the album is average. Sting because of a couple of songs, and I now have the Bruce Springsteen and the E-Stree Band on CD. I don’t have to rip my vinyl copy anymore.
Some new releases from Tuesday. Lady Antebellum’s album isn’t bad, but I need a couple of listens before I get an idea if I really like it. I just started listening to Colbie Caillat’s new album so there really isn’t an opinion on this one either.
This was an impulse buy because it was $5, if I got it I wouldn’t have to rip my vinyl copy, and I was already at Target buying the other two albums.
Google Play had a weekend offer of buy 5 albums from a list and each album was $1.99. This is my favorite sale that they have because I get to try albums I would normally not buy for $10. Not a bad price right? I picked up 5 albums in this sale as well as another $1.99 album. The best part is that I had a gift card from Target, which I used to buy the Google Play card so the following albums were free!
Kaskade was the separate album I bought. Google Play is also offering Jason Aldean album as their freebie album. Last time it was Ariana Grande’s most recent album. This is the one thing I like about Google Play over iTunes is that they have these sales, and freebies.
And final music pickups of the day also went to Google Play because this week they have their Rap/Hip-Hop albums on sale. I used the rest of my Google Play card to pick up these two albums
Comics
While walking around the mid week swapmeet I stopped at a vendor who was selling his books as well as some games. The games were $15-20 each, which is a little steep for me at a swapmeet, but he was selling some interesting comics at $1 each or 6 books for $5. I don’t know much about comicbooks so I went with covers that looked interesting…and had Wolverine.
I think I did ok for a $1 each, and at some point I’ll read them/look at the artwork and see if there is something there I would like to use as a giant size poster.
Well Pixlbit it is my weekend, I want to do nothing but invade other bases on Star Wars Commander and maybe play some Destiny. Have a good weekend folks!
That’s all for now, more later!...WOOOOOOOOOO!
-Chris
A new Goodwill store is opening up in my area. I excited to go bargain hunting again sometime soon.
Goin' bug huntin' in EDF 2025 this weekend. Most of the secret achievements are for killing certain numbers of different bug and robot types. My friend Mark and I are taking aim at those. Also I'm trying to finish my next Nostalgic Vacation game. It's a 1994 rpg so it might take a while.
