you know I toured with Of Montreal and played big shows with them when I was a (temporary) rock star.  All I can say is that lead singer  (can't remember his name) is a total prick.

Some of them are, not all mind you, but some are. I have been lucky and met most of the cool ones. I had a chance to meet the lead singer for Seether but he just seemed like a big prick so I did not walk up to him. Then he was drunk while playing forgeting the lyrics and laughing, I have not listen to Seether since.

yeah, I am more into the hardworking bands that respect their fans and aren't all messed up on drugs and alcohol all the time.  I lived that lifestyle for a while and I just have no interest in it or the people who partake in it.

Cool picks, enjoyed all but one of them, and the one I wasn't so fond of I liked the music, just not the singer.

No one expects the Genre Police!

Larry, sorry but Of Montreal are not a Punk band no matter how broadly you try to stretch the definition. Indie Pop is more like it. :P

sorry but they do fall under the Punk banner. check all the Punk sites and they are there. So if I am wrong then so are the punk sites.

Yep, they're wrong alrighty. How Coquette Coquette sounds like punk is beyond me.

Yeah I noticed that on the wikipedia site along with 5 other genres they apparently fall under including Indie Pop and Neo Psychedelic. LOL

LOL. They are on all the Punk sites. I just thought the video was kinda cool.

Yeah I thought so too the first 50 times they played in on Sirius XMU. Then it got annoying. I eventually cancelled my car's satellite radio because they played the same songs over and over again.

Great picks! I always find stuff I like in these blogs.I really like the video for Face Value by With The Punches. Authority Zero is pretty good as well.

Thank you. I try to pick some good bands. Sometimes I fail.

"Dsiconnected" - This comes on when I'm playing Song Pop all the damn time. Love it.

"Selfish Feelings" - Bit too wall-of-fuzzy-sound for me to put it on my iPod or phone, but there are some nice melodies in there for sure. Actually, never mind, I'd argue it gets better towards the end, but I guess it would be something I'd have.

"Over Seasons" - I love this one. Digging the sak/reggae influence.

No Statik - I'll throw this on if I go to the gym and hit the treadmill, but while I enjoy the thrashy nature of it, the vocals aren't my thing, to be honest.

"Coquet Coquette" - Not gonna argue genres, but this is the type of music I've been most into recently, so I really like it. I think Snee said he toured with Of Montreal in one of his blogs.Actually, I see his comment, never mind. Too bad singer's a prick I guess, granted not sure if they've changed singers since Snee knew them.

"Face VAlue" - My problem with today's pop punk is relevant here. Melodies are tight, but I just don't love those vocals. This guy's not being too bad or obnoxious with it, but it's hard for me to take seriously. I might like the guy if I met him, but that vocal style just reminds me of whiny teens. Again, not his fault, and maybe I'd get along with him in real life, hell, I listen to tons of annoyingf singers, it's just something about that vocal style in particular that bothers me.

Overall though, really dug the more relaxed picks today!
