Hey, congrats! I'm too tired to ramble, on my way to bed myself.
One of those big, life-changing events

My wife has been pregnant for a while now (months and months!) but her due date arrived and still no baby. So we had an induction scheduled for Friday, October 10 (yesterday as of this writing). But Thursday morning, right after I finished my shower before work, her water broke. I love clear signs like that lol. So we headed to the hospital and literally an hour later she gave birth to our second son. Thing is, it went so fast that she didn't have time to get an epidural AND my son weighed 9 lbs 1.5 oz and was 20 inches. That's a big baby to push out! But mommy and baby were both healthy and complicaton-free, so we're not going to complain (too much).

In other news New 52 Batman has been quite good. I read the first two volumes, The Court of Owls and The City of Owls. I liked it. The Owl story arc built to a nice finale, introducing (what I assume is) a new villain for Batman. But that was the middle of the volume and they seemed to move to the back burner after that. Then I started the third volume, Night of the Owls, only to discover that it isn't the third volume. Night of the Owls, it turns out, is an event in the New 52 Bat-universe and the collection with that title simply, well, collects the stories that take place during that night. It's a cool idea and I'm glad I got to read it but I wish it had been labeled more clearly. A big chunk of the book came from The City of Owls, so I skipped over those parts, but I got to sample a lot of the other Batman comics. I was already planning on reading Nightwing and Batgirl because I've seen them at the library but it looks like they're going to be pretty good. On the flip side I discovered that I'm not interested in Batman Incorporated or Birds of Prey. And why is Batman: Detective Comics its own thing? Seems like it's just another comic starring Batman (not necessarily a bad thing). I'm ambivalent about Batman & Robin, mainly because this Robin is annoyingly cocky. We'll see. And it all depends on what the library has anyway.
Speaking of which, I went today to return those books and hoped to get the Nightwing trades but they were out. I grabbed the first two volumes of Batgirl, though, and the first of Batwoman. I didn't even know Batwoman was a thing until recently and it doesn't look like it ties into the other current Batman comics. Looks weird, to be honest, but I'll give it a try. But first I gotta finish the third volume of Sandman. This one is a collection of independent stories (as opposed to the overarching tale of volume 2) and so far they've been really interesting. There was even one all about cats! Neil Gaiman continues to deliver.
Gaming has been slow. With all this stuff going on lately it's just been easier to read. Still working my way through Mass Effect 3 and loving it but I don't get as many chances to play it as I'd like. Helping the Quarians right now. Been playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite as well but that game can be really hard. Progress is slow. I played a little Kirby's Dream Land 2 a couple days ago (my two-year-old son loves watching that) but haven't gotten back to it yet. Just too much to do.
While I'm rambling, anybody else watch Dr. Who tonight? I thought that episode was really good. I always love a good mystery and the Orient Express—in space!—setting was genius! Plus Clara looks really good in 1920s getup I wonder if this Gus person/computer/entity/whatever will be part of the overarching story for this season...?
Well, I'm going to bed. A little somebody will probably be getting me up in the middle of the night anyway. If you stuck with me all the way to this point, then good for you. Feel free to get me back by rambling in the comments.
