I'm a Star Trek fan-- especially of the newer reboot since 2009.  I'm looking forward to seeing Into Darkness.

I haven't watched much of the series, but the reeboots are great in my opinion.

I love Sci Fi, and Starwars is up there, but Dune really does it for me.  I like Hitchiker's Guide too.  Bring a towel!  

I really should get to reading Dune. A friend reccommended it to me, but I couldn't find a copy at my library. I'll have to look for that another time.

Star Wars Original trilogy.

I need to read Hitchhiker's Guide; so many in-jokes.

Favorite Sci-Fi Book: Ender's Game

Movie: 2009 Star Trek

Video Game: Star Fox 64

Comic Book: I bought my ex-gf a comic book by Dark Horse that was a prequel examining Darth Vader's rise to power for her birthday last year, so even though I hadn't read it, I guess I'll say that.

I've heard of Enders Game but I haven't read that yet. I hear that they are making a movie based off of it with Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley, so that should be interesting!

Yup. I wonder how the movie will turn out, myself. Looks promising so far.

Sci-Fi?  I would say my favorite Video game of Sci-Fi would be Halo or Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay.  As for movie...Alien?  I dont think I've ever read a Sci-Fi book...

I tried to watch Alien, but I wimped out. I dont like scary things. :P

You can skip Alien and go right to Aliens. More of an action/adventure than a horror movie. Alien is one of the few movies that has given me nightmares as an adult.

Sidd, that's like asking me to pick my favorite child!

Books: that's the really tough one. Today, I'd say Not For Glory by Joel Rosenberg. Ask me tomorrow and it might be something totally different, though. I've also always liked the Hammer's Slammers series by David Drake, and The Voyage of the Star Wolf by David Drake. And the Mageworlds series.

Movies: Star Wars had probably the most impact on me, I was eight when the first movie came out and it was like nothing I had ever seen before. I don't know if it's my favorite, though. I'll have to give this one some more thought.

TV shows: this is even harder than books. Firefly, the original Star Trek, Babylon 5, Space Above and Beyond, all are personal favorites.

Video game: The Xenosaga series, I think.

Yeah, Firefly was brilliant. I love the whole Space-Western genre, and I wished there were more original properties like that!

Firefly. It's close though. I love Star-trek,Star-wars, and Aliens almost just as much!

Oh Firefly (I didn't get into it until after it was cancelled) awesome show.

In books, my favorite sci-fi series are probably Herbert's Dune series and Asimov's Robot and Foundation series.

I'm also a big fan of both star wars and star trek (my favorite trek being deep space nine).  Firefly, Babylon 5, and Battlestar Galactica (the newer one) are also among some of my favorite sci-fi shows.

That was a great series when I was a teenager. He really died too young. My fav science fiction property is Star Trek TNG. Another great IP growing up. The only bad thing about the medium for me is the stranglehold that Star Wars has on it.

I'm probably in the Dune camp as far as franchises go.  Although I've never been able to watch an entire Dune movie and/or mini-series.  I still have more books to read... big time.

That said, even though I read Anathem three or more years ago, I think about it constantly and might re-read someday soon.

I didn't know it was Douglass Adam's birthday. I did notice that image on Google though, and was wondering about it. I love Hitchhiker's Guide and have read it many times. It gets really weird later on during the sequels. The movie was pretty decent too.

Favourite Sci-Fi?...

I like most of them, I mean i'll always have a soft spot for Stargate SG-1, but no real preference.

Favorite Sci Fi...that's tough.

I like Star Trek, and Star Wars (original trilogy), and I really enjoy Warehouse 13 on SyFy. If any of those options ever happen to be on TV, I'm watching even if I own them on DVD

I don't really read books anymore, but as a kid I loved the Chronicles of Narnia series, although that's more fantasy than Sci-Fi.

As fas as movies go, I loved Star Wars as a kid.  The Fifth Element is a guilty pleasure of mine, too, because it had robot armadillos and flying taxis and McDonalds.

My all-time most favorite TV show ever is Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I personally think that Narnia is the most brilliantly crafted fictional world of all time, and I love it how all of the books relate to each other and are in the same timeline.

I also like how the Narnia books relate to stories from the Bible.  But then, I just like stuff like that.

I have not read the book but I did see the movie, which I thought was pretty good. I'll have to pick up the book. As for favorite Sci-fi,  thats a little tuff.

Movie: I have to go with the original Star Wars trilogy with the runner up being Bladerunner.

Book: Well its a graphic novels but close enough, Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo and the runner up is Battle Angel Alita by Yukito Kishiro.

Game: A three way tie betweem Xenogears, Star Ocean; Till the End of Time, and the Mass Effect Trilogy.

I have a hard time with narrowing down faves so I will probably have another list in a couple of hours. Laters!

I love the Hitchhiker's books. They are so hilarious and witty. Adams' was a genius. I haven't read the new book by Eion Colfer. At first I thought it was blasphemy, but I've since read that it was Adams wish to write a sixth himself, so Colfer was commissioned to do the job.

As far as favourite sci-fi novel goes, man that's difficult to choose! I think I'd have to go with Frank Herbet's Dune. The man was a true master of science fiction.

Books: The demolished man by alfred bester or the forever war by joe haldeman. 

Films:  A bunch of stuff from the eighties...  Brazil, The Thing, Blade Runner, Robocop.

Televsion:  Doctor Who, both classic and new.  Red Dwarf.

Games:  I have no idea. 

Must agree with most of your picks there. I really want to see the latest Red Dwarf season but have not found it on Canadian TV yet.

I'm a huge fan of Douglas Adams. I have all the books in the Hitchhiker's Series including Mostly Harmless and The Salmon of Doubt. I also have the Dirk Gently books, The Deeper Meaning of Liff and Starship Titanic, a book by Terry Jones based on one of Adams' story lines. 

He was taken from us too soon.

I could write a tome on my favourite authors and movies but I won't. Rest assured it would all be Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror and general weirdness. :)
