Now before I go into my scariest game pick yes I agree Residence Evil the original when I was exploring and those damn dobermans jumped through the hallway window I like to crap myself ha ha!! Great game moment I will never forget.

But anyway I think to this day the game that creeped me out and was scary as hell was Crimson Butterfly then my second would be Alan Wake or Silent Hill.

So in the spirit of Halloween no pun intended whats the scariest game you ever played ha ha and happy Halloween! !!

Superman 64! It's scary that the game was even made.

Seriously Eternal Darkness or Silent Hill 2 or 3. I love the vibe of the Fatal Frame games but I'm total shit at them.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent. As much as I want to give it to Fatal Frame, Amnesia is just fucking terrifying. That sound design...

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem for the Nintendo Gamecube, developed by Silicon Knights and published by Nintendo, released in North America on June 24, 2002, is the scariest game I have ever played. It's also one of the only horror video games I have ever played, but it was still damn effective.

While we're at it, I'd say The Ring is the scariest movie I have ever seen and when I was younger, I read a collection of Edgar Allen Poe's works that freaked me out a good bit more than the Goosebumps books I was used to reading at the time.

Granted, both Goosebumps and Eerie, Indiana especially could creep me out as a kid as far as television goes.

I'd even say the Metallica albums Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning could give me some good scares in their own way.

I got kind of creeped out by a play that involved the underworld once. Or maybe that was an opera.

Yar's Revenge.  Even when I play it now, I'm filled with apocaylptic dread.

Defender is scary too.

Condemned: Criminal Origins. I was always on the edge of my seat wondering if I was going to survive the next area while clutching my iron pipe.

I don't play too many scary games.  I used to play all the Resident Evils so the original Resident Evil probably gets my vote.  We laugh at it now, but at the time it was so new and intense.  The tank controls, the fact that you needed ink ribbons for the typewriters to save, all that made it more tense.  I tried Silent Hill but it was downright disturbing and I never got to finish any of them.  I recently tried P.T. and it was pretty great.  I also downloaded Alien Isolation, but haven't tried to play it yet.  My favorite (not scariest though) is Resident Evil Code Veronica.  The new Resident Evils aren't the least bit scary.

For some reason I just thought of the old shooter Sinistar.  I laughed at my friend because he said he used to get freaked out and leave the arcade machine and lose his quarter when he'd get to Sinistar because his evil laugh scared the hell out of him.  He's a grown man now and he says it still gives him chills thinking about it.

It's very hard to choose for me given all the Octoberween gaming goodness I've been evenloping all this time. I just can't choose given all that is out there, they are just that good. I can't deny your picks though, they are indeed scary. I still like the ghostly images pause screen when you play Fatal Frame II, not sure if that's just on the Xbox or PS2 versions or both. I'll have to check sometime soon.

I actually own both the PS2, Xbox and PS2 digital copies of Fatal Frame series. I just can't get enough of them really. I wish I could get into The Evil Within but I'm already swapped with the games I have now. One year perhaps, on year...

Yea I agree next year evil within will be like $10 bucks lol more affordable unless its like the physical copys of Fatal Frame which for Crimson Butterfly is $30 at gamestop.
