Hello Pixlbit and Hello Friday! The week went by fast and that is always a good thing, hopefully the weekend slows down because I do like the time to just sleep. I have a stack of laundry, which means there won’t be a lot of extra sleep but at least I’ll have clean clothes! Ok I have to confess I am starting this blog on Thursday because on Friday (today for you folks in the future) I will be out and about maybe looking at some new shoes, and new music for the library. Let’s get started because when I’m done with this I have to update my album list, and sync it to my Phone so I don’t by an album I already own.

Stuff Chris Watches

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD – ABC

We are in the second season and the show is picking up in terms of pacing. Last season was a bit slow at the beginning because we were learning about the characters and they were going around solving unexplained activities or what I liked to call Marvel’s version of Warehouse 13

The show has added actors that I do like especially a couple from How I Met Your Mother. Colbie Smulders guests stars as Maria Hill, and now the Captain, George Van Smoot plays a major role

Yeah I do miss How I Met Your Mother.

Anyways my favorite addition is of course Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse

Yes the only good thing about that awful GI Joe movie, she is now on SHIELD. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Marvel needs to release a Lego version of these characters.

Apparently there is a set being proposed by some Lego fans.

Agent Coulson showing support for Chloe Wang (Chloe Bennent is her actress name and she is Skye on the show)

Below Deck Season 2 – Bravo

So this past week was the season finale of Below Deck. For you folks who don’t watch, Below Deck is a reality show that follows around a charter yacht and what goes on behind the scenes while the crazy rich folks go nuts. Yes you get all the drama of people not liking each other, hookups, and crazy food. I never caught Season 1 or 2 during its normal airing, because this show is much more fun in a marathon binge mode.

Chief Stewardess Kate is easily my new favorite person on the show. Some folks might call her bitchy, I think of her as wanting to get the job done without going through all the drama that seems to be around her. She had some good one liners throughout the season.

There was one episode where some uber rich stock genius and his 19-year-old girlfriend was complaining that the Internet was bad on the yacht. Ok if you were in his shoes wouldn’t you have a mobile hotspot? My uncle goes camping and bought a mobile hotspot for his netbook (anyone remember the netbook?)

I’m happy Below Deck is back for Season 3, and Kate is back along with Chef Ben and some of the others.

Homeland – Showtime

Homeland is getting interesting…and Carrie is still crazy. I can’t wait to see how Quinn and the others in her team handle this season.

The Affair – Showtime

This is my new favorite drama on Sunday Nights. The story is a married man spends the summer with his family at his in laws beach estate. While in this sleepy beach town he meets another woman who is also married and eventually they have an affair. The twist is someone was killed but you don’t know who it was yet, and the story is being told through the eyes of the family man, and the woman. So the first half hour of the episode is told through his point of view, and the second is through hers, which is interesting to watch just to see how differently they see the events. It’s a good show and I can’t wait to see the big reveal.

Random Stuff Chris Likes

This popped up on Twitter last Sunday during the Raiders/Cardinals game. Darnell Dockett is trolling the Raider Nation. I don’t advise any fans going to Oakland to try that because

From what I’ve seen Raider fan seem to live up to this. Like I told one of my bosses in college, if I ever go to a Raider game again either in Oakland or on the road, I'm wearing Raiders gear for safety.

Pickups

Games

I took a stroll around the local GameStop after the mid week Swapmeet to see if I really wanted to buy the newest Borderlands game. The manager and I had a conversation about it and he was going to buy it through the Apple App Store. He told me about a site called GameAgent, where the website tells you if you can run the game. I knew my Macbook would have no problem running the game, but I wanted to see how their app worked. It turns out it was painless, I just created an account, downloaded the app and it gave me the info about my computer. Very cool stuff! Anyways I decided against buying the game because I think I can wait a bit.

So going back to my pickups while there, I wanted to pick up Fall of Cybertron that Cary said was a good game to try. Well I thought I picked it up, but it turns out I bought this game instead

I am starting the Third Mission for the Decepticons and I have to say I am having a lot of fun. Running/Flying/Driving around shooting everything, picking up shards of stuff, good times. My favorite activity is to chase the Autobots and just use the melee attack. I’ll look for the other Transformers game later on today (it is my current tomorrow because I’m writing this on Thursday). I should also point out the game's environment is freaking awesome. It has the industrial Matrix vibe.

The next game I picked up was a freebie I saw on Slick Deals

It’s a match 3 strategic game. I like it, and the best part is, if you get to Level 15, you unlock a copy of Fat Princess for the PS3. I never bought this game so naturally I wanted to play it unlock the free game.

I got my free code after playing through the first of my five lives (it takes a couple of hours to recharge) and then two tries after that. I’m still playing this game, and I like it more than Marvel Puzzle Quest. It's available on the iPad and Android

I bought some Android games for .99 each during a commercial. I used the last of my credit so there was no whipping out a credit card or waiting for the next day to buy a Google Play card.

Gangstar Vegas is a GTA Clone set in Las Vegas. Oh I know you think it sounds fun already. You’re probably thinking does it involve fixing of a sport gone wrong and now some powerful people are pissed. The answer is yes! I played through a couple of missions and it looks like old GTA III. So far not a bad game.

Scribblenauts Remix is a game I’ve thought about off and on for a while. I wanted to try the 3DS version but got lazy and didn’t want to drive so I missed the sale. I figure give it a try on the tablet…it was only 99 cents *cue the chorus to Thrift Shop.

Entiwined Challenge is an interesting game. It is a Playstation Mobile game so I was assuming it would be around the same quality of a Playstation Mini. The game is simple where you control these two birds one on each side of the screen. You fly the birds into the same colored ovals. There is much more other than skins but graphically it looks good. Not a bad game for .99 cents.

Music

While walking around Target in another one of my “I’m here for one thing, leave with a basket full of stuff” outings I bought the following

Ok so that Meghan Trainor song is catchy, and I already bought it on iTunes, but I wanted a physical copy especially since I’m starting to make the move towards FLAC. It’s an EP with four songs so I can sample the other songs that might be in her new album.

The other two songs were found in the clearance section for

.90 cents each isn’t bad, and it adds another Christmas album to the library. I'm trying to go for a full iPod of Christmas music for the season (I'm thinking of expanding the "season" to include after Halloween)

Toys

While roaming around the Weekend Swapmeet I stopped by this one lady who sells some crazy stuff. One year I think my brother and I found a couple of pairs of Jordans (my brother either sold them or traded them) as well as a bunch of GI Joe’s. While looking through her stack of N64 games I spotted this out of the corner of my eye

Talk about a flashback. One of the later model GI Joe’s when they still had the rubber band connection at the waist. I believe this is Rock N’Roll because I bought this figure when it was new. It was a buck and I couldn’t say no.

*Flashback to younger Chris: So when it was my heyday for GI Joe figures my brother and I had I think almost 200 figures. One year our goal was to collect every figure from the series, and we did which was cool. Anyways during the summers we would go to Hawai'i and we would hit the swapmeets. We would always buy GI Joe figures if they were $1. There was this one lady who had the cool older figures and for the $1 you were allowed to pick one figure, and one weapon. This is way before eBay ruined the toy pricing...ok I can't give eBay all the blame. I did buy 10 Sgt. Slaughter tanks for $10 in college.

The first of my two trips to the Fake Lego Lady’s stall when she told me to come back but didn’t have the new stock like she promised. Her son said she was late to pickup her order and didn’t get any. I was ok with this because she still had the stuff I wanted so on my first trip I bought

I have no idea what their names are so I call them from L to R: USO Show Captain America, Retro Batman Eyes Captain America, Captain America with Suspenders, Girl Captain America, and Clark Kent

The fully assembled figures

USO Show Captain has an extra leg holster for his gun

Girl Captain America is showing a lot of skin

I had some problems with Clark Kent

My figure was packaged with two right legs. I’m going to need to get a donor figure with blue pants. I’ll check the other Lego lady probably this weekend.

My second trip to the Fake Lego Lady happened on Wednesday where she had new stock but a lot of the stuff was Star Wars themed. I passed on these because there isn’t any variant figures and I have the authentic Lego figures. She did have some new comic book figures and I added five more to the collection

These are newer versions because they came almost fully assembled. I just had to add the hair pieces and hands.

Group shot

They also come with instructions and one trading card.

The random parts the figures came with

Stuff I Want To Get

So the company that makes fake Lego also has other figures that I might want to order especially after the leak of the new Avengers Trailer

On Amazon for $7 before shipping I can get Iron Hulk. I’m still debating on it

I also saw these shoes show up on my Twitter feed. In the spirit of Halloween these Air Max 95s were created and they are sweet

These are Japan Only releases, and I think they are cool. The top two layers are supposed to be gauze, and the bottom two are supposed to be what I’m guessing is monster skin. The 95s are such a cool looking shoe, but some of the prices are a little steep for me (by little I mean a lot. $150 is a bit crazy for a sneaker)

Alright Pixlbit I am off. By the time you read this I will probably be out and about, so have a good weeked!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I love Agents of SHIELD. The end of the season plots twists were pretty incredible. I scored the first season on DVD used two days after it dropped for about $20 and made Jason watch it while he was at the cottage taking care of the pets while I was away for six days. Need someone to talk to about the show and he stopped watching in the middle of the season. I did good - no spoilers, so he was as surprised as I was at the plot twists.

Looks like you had fun as usual at the mid-week swap meet. Have fun shopping today.

It is such a fun show. A little bit of drama, some comedy, and all the plot twists you can throw at an hour long show. Good pickup on the DVD. I'm hoping it is part of the Black Friday stuff so I can pick up a copy.

Nice LEGOs.

That "we'll beat you up in the parking lot" crap is why I hated the Eagles for a long time: their fans just seemed like such dickheads. I've held less of an angst towards the team recently as I've met cool people who are Eagles fans like KnightDriver and an old college professor.

I make fun of my friend Mark all the time 'cause he acts like a true Philly fan by being too negative and turning on his own team when they lose. Ha ha. The scars from the long years of losing teams still run deep I guess; although, we're talking pre 20th century now. The Andy Reid years were good ones, I keep reminding him.

Oh by the way, my angst just got even lower after finding out former Philidelphia Eagle Jeremiah Trotter was also a former SFASU Lumberjack. Terrance Shaw of New England Patriots fame also attended my college! Axe 'Em Jacks woo!

Oh I blamed the coaching staff for what was going on in Dallas the past couple of seasons. Their Defensive coordnators were hot garbage, at least now Rod Marinelli is working some crazy magic making what could have been a bad defense look really good. I think your friend was scarred from the Rich Kotite era in Phily

Yeah that's one thing I never understood about sports is when fans are willing to fight about it. C'mon now its entertainment. There are tons of good fans, but the bad fans like to go get drunk, and start stuff....but there is no way I would ever wear team gear when I am at a Raiders game. Sorry Raider fans but your fans are insane.

I haven't played War of Cybertron, but I heard that Fall of Cybertron is much better.

The metacritic scores are close 79 for fall, 76 for war, with both getting 8.4/8.5 from the users. If you liked Fall of Cybertron most likely you'll enjoy War for Cybertron. I'll pickup a copy of Fall once I play through War of Cybertron.

Ah yeah, that fake lego Iron Hulk is fantastic! Watched the new Avengers trailer the other day and my friend at work and I watched it three times it was so good.

That movie looks so good especially with the big fight sequence with Hulk Buster vs the Hulk. I can't wait for the release of that film!

War for Cybertron is great :D hope you enjoy!

Also, I gave up with Agents of Shield. I really didn't like it tbh

It is such a fun game and if Fall of Cybertron is more of this, than I'm going to be happy.

That's cool about SHIELD. Everyone has their tastes in shows.
