So many superheroes I know nothing about.

The Black Panther will get its own movie. I have no idea who he is. I just know that through watch Mojojo.com I was educated on the very issue at hand.

He's from a tribe in Africa. He's a cool-ass superhero and he was also in the 1966 Fantastic Four.

He apparently hunted down the Fantastic Four in hopes of meeting someone who killed his father.

He's pretty cool. He resembles batman but is a Marvel character.

More heroes I have a limited knowledge about and not necessairly from DC and Marvel.

In no damn order: Ant Man(Hank Pym) Wretch, Captain Marvel, Wasp,Cable,Doctor Strange.

Now let's do this right: Out of the list I gave I know Ant-Man and Cable and Doctor Strange the most. Their histories are a whole different story. In an X-men comic I read. I have read a lot of them...Cable is in fact Cyclop's son in the distant future. Doctor Strange has been featured in a lot of comics. Wasp was apart of the Avengers at one point. Or so sayeth my awesome Avengers shirt. Wretch is from Vertigo I think?

Just the amount of super heroes I know nothing about purely is astounding.

Though, I am excited to learn more always.

Yeah, I don't know much about most of those characters either, but Black Panther seems awesome. I'd watch Ant Man if Edgar Wright was still doing it, but ever since he dropped out of the project I've been less excited about it.

I know from an animated Avenegers movie I watched on Netflix he can shrink and grow infinitely. I can actually see how that would come in handy.

Wretch, Wasp, and Cable. One's a cough, the other is a metal band, and the last one is how I am able to watch TV. That's all I got on them.

I don't really get into comic books, so most super hero movies I see, I have no idea who the characters are.  Most of my comic knowledge comes from Marvel vs. Capcom games!   I wish someone would make a Sam & Max movie, then I would know the characters in that comic book film!

This is one of the reasons I really enjoyed the Justice League and Young Justice League cartoons because it was showcasing some B and C tier characters and creating great stories with them. The CW TV series Arrow, Flash and to some extent Fox show Gotham also showcase characters that are not regularly seen either. Another reason for these movies you mentioned is that Marvel Studios doesn't own the film rights to Spider-Man, X-Men or the Fantastic Four so they are making movies with other comic book characters that they do have the rights to and tying them into the success of Avengers films to branch out from. It's sort of like when a TV series is popular and then they decide to make a spin-off to capitalize from the success. I'm mainly a Marvel fan which includes X-Men, Spider-Man, Avengers etc so I am quite happy about these movie announcements. I believe Black Panther was also featured prominently in last summers Xmen vs Avengers event and he is in relationship with Storm.
