So you may think this is a little kids game but you would be wrong,its published by Natsume,and its alot like Harvest moon with out the farming,so basicly yourFather is getting to old to fish anymore and he has spent his whole life trying to catch the monster fish called river king and you the player being the good young man you are, tells dad that you will take over the hunt for the river king and this is how you get your start in river king.

The story is a strange one which im not going to get into,so what is river king well in short its a fishing themed role playing game,and is made by Natsume the same guys behind Harvest Moon and is actually a fun game,yes the fishing is simple, yes it has a subtle story, but its a laid back relaxing kind of game that litteraly leaves you stress free unless loosing a fish upsets you lol,out of six games only three have made it to america, the legend of river king 1 & 2 and of course the ps2 game River King a wonderful journey the other two names were released on the psp and the Nintendo Ds.

In addition to the River King series which as the name suggest deals with freahwater fishing, a spin off series of saltwater fishing games has also been released called Umi no Nushi Tsuri.the series was released for the gameboy,super nintendo, playstation,and Wii.

Personally I have enjoyed my time with it, its nothing all that great,but I did enjoy it none the less, now bare in mind I played and enjoyed Harvest Moon,you just need to know it is what it is and thats a fishing game,the graphics are not bad there just like harvest moon in fact theres alot of similarities to harvest moon so in short if you like Harvest Moon then more then likely you will like this and if you fished in harvest moon then you will feel right at home here.
