Life and Stuff + Football (GO PACK, MAKE EAGLE MEAT!)

I finally went ahead and bought my HabitRPG character a bunch of viking crap. I wanted to make my goals more real-life oriented by setting prices for "a night out" or "binge drinking," but I didn't know what prices to set so here he are

I've been doing good on both my fitness goals and getting work done early. Now I need to clean my apartment and car and really start hammering out my thesis. Also, I need to get my car fixed so I can buy real food and not watch my fat jiggle after game day hot dogs.

Speakingof which, SFA Men's Basketball won its game Friday against Mississippi College 75-49 to give them a 1-0 record and maintain first place in the Southland Conference, which is based on our NCAA win against VCU last year.

The football team on the other hand lost by two points today on a botched field goal, taking them out of the playoffs piccture.

The items I purchased at these games are as follows:

Basketball game Friday

- chili cheese dog with jalapenos and popcorn

- plain hot dog

- nachos w/ cheese and jalapenos + Sprite

Football game Staurday (today)

- plain hot dog and popcorn

- hot dog w/ relish, ketchup, and jalapenos

- more popcorn (it was free at the end of the game, so i grabbed two but have only eaten one box)

So I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure accidentally fasting until 5pm and then going to sporting events where the vendors accept debit made me cheat my 2000 calorie/150g protein diet. At least I've been doing all my workouts consistently though. I need more protein powder too though, only Walmart is too far away and Fahrenheit temps in the 30s and 40s is too damn cold to be walking there before I get my new starter.

The Dallas Mavericks just beat the Grizzlies to become 7-3, so I'm happy about that, as well as the Longhorns beating OSU pretty handily just now, 28-7. It was weird to be rooting AGAINST the Cowboys, since the NFL Dallas team has a bye-week.

But my other NFL team, the Green Bay Packers, is going to take on the Philidelphia Eagles tomorrow and I'm almost as excited for that as the Cowboys game against them on Thanksgiving.

I finished Snowpiercer earlier today by the way. Damn, that movie was bleak. Also caught the newest Legend of Korra episode, which was pretty good, but I want to get to the end of the series. Don't get me wrong, I hate seeing it end, but I don't like how these episodes feel like build-up to better things. Not in a DBZ stalling kind of way; there's plenty of action and plot/charcter development in these episodes, it's not just talk of the final battle; I just really want to see how the chess pieces Kuvira (Zelda Williams, Robin Williams' daughter) set up eventually fall down already. That and Steve Blum came back in this episode as a good guy this time! (He played the villain Amon in the first season using a deeper and more methodical voice than the one he uses for his current character). I even watched the first episode of Yu-Gi Oh on Netflix. Man, even as a kid I thought the concept was shaky, but it sure did make me feel good when soccer games got cancelled and I got to stay in bed watching it on Saturdays.

Anywhoo, I'm off to play Limbo and/or Legend of Korra and be excited for all the great stuff coming this fall season. Just wanted to check in.

Oh and I reconfirmed during my DJ shift that music often has more emotional impact on me when played loud.

Did you watch the 4kids dub of Yu-Gi Oh, or the original version?

Where are you on Limbo?

English dub, but if Netflix has the original I'll watch that to compare. And last night I stopped at a part where you put boxes on the wall above you with magnets and got a giant ladder down, but couldn't figure out the second part to the puzzle, so I started playing Korra. Which somehow played much smoother, and I was about to beat the part giving me problems, but the laptop decided to shut down on me. Ugh.

Eagles/Green Bay tomorrow! It's gonna be good. No 42 zip at the half blow out in this one I think. I hope it's a high scoring shoot out. The time on the East Coast switched to 4:30 though, so I'm going to miss the second half eating dinner with my Mom. I'll have to switch on the radio in the car afterwards to find out the final score.

Wish you could see the game, but dinner sounds nice! Will you be able to watch the Thanksgiving Phili game?

I'll be in North Carolina with my bro-in-law and we will be watching the game, no doubt. He's much more of a football fan than I.

Eagles meat?!?!  That's ok, I hate the Cowboys more than anything.  It's funny how being a fan makes you automatically hate other teams.  I like the Packers though. Should be a good game.

Being a Cowboys fan doesn't make me hate the Eagles. Eagles fans used to make me hate the Eagles (what kind of douchebag throws snowballs at Santa?), but I've met some nice ones so that's not a huge factor anymore.

You realize I've always been a fan of both Cowboys and Packers and would root for either team regardless who they face, right? I lived in Dallas (or Nacogdoches for college) all my life and my older bro works AT&T Stadium, but my grandpa worked in the same paper mill as some of the original Packers and my late uncle Mike was on the board of directors for Packers' Hall of Fame. This is definitely a love thing, bro. Wink lol

ha ha, I admit eagles fans can be sort of fucked up, but they're from Philly so that explains that...  Wink

Lol so why do you hate the Cowboys again?

Matt Snee Staff Writer

11/16/2014 at 11:29 AM

because they are my arch enemies.  Sealed

Because ... ? lol Dude, I have plenty of friends who hate the Cowboys, it's no big deal. Just curious.

because man, I'm a die hard eagles fan!  It's not rational, it's chemical and physical. I couldn't give u reasons, other than the fact that I love the Eagles.

they're age old divisional rivals!  It's like elves and orcs, man!

I forgot you were an Eagles fan. lol Makes sense.

I'm currrently rooting for the Texans since the Cowboys have a bye week, even though we are supposed to be rivals.

Elves and Orcs, ha! I still think it goes back to the 90's when the Cowboys were called America's team and the Eagles couldn't catch a break. Put them in the same division and you have trouble, especially with a mostly working class town like Philly. If we're angry, we'll beat you up. Ha ha!

There are "working class" areas of Dallas too and unfortunately I think you'd get beat up for wearing the wrong colors in those places too ... but the fact you can wear whatever at AT&T Stadium and it's a huge tourist attraction  is something I prefer to saying "we'll beat you up." Same goes for Lambeau, which I love for being such a family place. Then again, I have tons of family history as far as the Packers and I root for all Dallas teams cause I live there when not at college (even though the Stars suck this season), so of course I'm biased. lol

The football stadium used to be a pretty rowdy place in Philly, at least in the upper levels, but it's now very family friendly and nice.

11/17/2014 at 11:31 AM

Yeah, I've heard it's calmed down a lot since y'all had a courthouse in it. haha

And to be fair, AT&T Stadium gets incredibly drunk and rowdy when there's a country concert according to my brother. People have to be detained ... etc.

KnightDriver

Trying to imagine roudy country fans. . . trying. . . nope. Can't do it.

You have to believe, man ... belieeeeeve. The same way I believe in catcalling construction workers in New York or fist fights in Philidelphia bars. I know all of these scenarios sound totally implausible, you just have to belieeeeeeve ... and send me cheeesesteeeeeaaaaaak.

It's in the mail. Just don't expect it to be the same when it gets there.

Glad you're doing well on your fitness goals.  I was just thinking about you with that.  This year I kind of hit a plateau, but a friend of mine introduced me to a really good fitness supplement and exercises, and I've been making huge improvements again.  I could almost call myself "Super Cary."

You probably already could. lol Is it Advocare and the 24 day challenge? Had a friend recommend that to me earlier when I was griping about how bad protein shakes taste.

Aw, well thank you!  The shake I'm drinking now definitely makes me feel like Super Cary.  You can PM me if you want to hear more about it.  I don't want to sound too much like a commercial or anything here.

How long have you been on your work out schedule? i lost count, espiecally after you pulled the picture of the fat magnum PI you had on your profile awhile back.

I just hopped back on it last week, or maybe two weeks ago pretty much. Was supposed to do hill sprints yesterday, but it felt like I'd pull something if I did. I think it's cause I ran in place to get to 10,000 steps on Saturday, but I did squats the same day earlier. Don't think my right calf appreciated it.

Oh man arena/stadium food. Its so bad for you yet at times it can be so good. I think it tastes better when your teams are winning.

During the Cowboys bye week, I went to cheering on the Raiders and their quest for a perfect season. C'mon 0-16! Heck I even wore one of my Raiders jerseys for luck.

Super Step Contributing Writer

11/20/2014 at 11:14 AM

Nah, it tasted about the same at the Saturday game where the football team was losing when I ordered. By only a coouple points, granted, but still. lol

And LOL yeah, I don't think Raiders games get played here, since it's not their region and Fox Sports will probably never switch to them because they're playing a more competitive game. I mean, I understand switching to Lions/Cards usually, but c'mon, the Packers/Eagles mathcup was America's Game of the Week. I get that people expected a close one, but there had to be at least a little over half that audience wanting to see the Packers get to 50+ again.
