So get this Pixlbit, I just realized that Thanksgiving is next week. Next freaking week. Oh the excitement is building because once Thanksgiving Dinner is over, Christmas Music is in full swing, and I will check out Black Friday deals. There is no way I’m going when the stores open because there will be yahoos fighting over $3 DVDs, so I’ll wait an hour or two, and besides the Target and Walmart by the house will be opened early so I will be happy to find a $20 game. How was your weekend Pixlbit? Anything fun, good, or exciting? My weekend was spent on “The 10” (you odd folks who don’t live in Southern California just refer to the freeway number) Wikipedia even has an entry for it. Who knew?

I spent Saturday taking a day trip to Arizona, which is roughly a four and a half hour trip from my house to our destination in the Grand Canyon State. During this time I packed the Big Gameboy (3DS XL) because I wanted to make a huge dent in Picross 3D, filled the iPod full of podcasts, and I spent the entire trip talking sports/techy toys/and other randoms with my uncle and a family friend.

Hello Arizona, and I’m representing!

Arizona is always an interesting trip. I forgot my phone charger so while we were waiting for a family friend to pick up some stuff, I made a pit stop at Target, and as usual I left with more stuff than I wanted to get (I’ll save that for Quick Hits or if you want a preview I’ll post in the Pick Up Thread in the forums). We spent a couple of hours in Arizona before heading back to California.

While in Arizona I visited a Baskin Robbins for the first time since high school. Yeah I still prefer Thrifty Ice Cream, even though now my favorite flavor will result in a trip to the Emergency Room. Damn you nut/seed allergy! On the way out of Arizona we spotted an odd road sign

Why is Los Angeles in parenthesis? Saturday there wasn’t much gaming but Sunday was a different story.

Sunday was my big gaming day because the Cowboys had a bye week, and I had a couple of games that I spent the most time with

NCAA Football 14 – PS3

I continued season 3 with the Old Dominion Monarchs, but I moved them to Conference USA. It is a step down in talent from the MAC, but it made a bit more sense travel wise (a little real world thrown into video game universe). I have two games left in the season and the Monarchs are ranked I believe 5th or 6th. I don’t think they will make the National Title game because of the one loss and the top two teams are undefeated.

Need For Speed Rivals: Complete Edition – PS3

I started this game earlier in the week, and played a couple of hours on Sunday. I didn’t realize that the game was connected to a bunch of other players so at certain points I am racing with actual people. There wasn’t a lot of this because I kept going after the various challenges to rank up and to unlock vehicles. At first this kind of bothered me because I wanted something similar to previous NFS games, but after a bit of racing I was fine. One of my favorite aspects of the game is that it feels like Forza Horizon where you can just drive around and find races, cameras, time trials, and other goodies.

One of my favorite things about games is when they can be connected to an App on a phone or tablet.

I tried the NFS App on the iPad Air, and it is useful to see your stats, where various items are on the map, and other goodies.

I found a lot more since I took these snapshots, and I tried the Play Overwatch feature. I really have no idea what it does, and actually give me a second to check the app to see if anything changed.

So from what I have seen Overwatch is just a little game where you don’t do anything and you earn SP. I started it last night, and forgot to check it. The “missions” are short and you earn fuel by either playing a special mission in the game, or play the actual game on the console.

The Unfinished Swan – PS Vita

Oh you don’t know the excitement I had when I spotted this in the PS Store, and it was free. F-R-E-E! I’m not even mad that I spent $10 on this game on the console. I’m hoping to play through the game on the Vita because I didn’t have my dizzy problems with Borderlands on the Vita, but I was getting dizzy playing this game on the console.

I played through the first group of chapters yesterday, just enjoying this game and remembering why I love it so much. I named it my favorite PS3 game last year, and hopefully now I get to finish it without having to wait a day or two between plays because I got dizzy.

Some things never change. I spotted the maze and then took a picture of it (the actual maze isn’t difficult but I found it funny that I took a picture of the map without thinking about it). If you have a Vita give this game a try!

Spider-man Ultimate – iPad Air

I finally finished Issue 2 of the story mode. I was trying to upgrade my Spider-man characters to get to Level 41 to play the final mission. The pleasant surprise was that I earned 25 of the premium currency Iso-8 gems. I used my newfound wealth on buying a premium portal and I unlocked

Iron Spider. I also unlocked another slot for a Spider-man, which adds to the multiplier in the free mode, and you can earn XP for each character.

Since I played this game everyday, I unlocked a free Rare Recruit. I already had the figure in my collection so I used it to upgrade my figure.

Ok Pixlbit, today is a bit busy for me, so I will get to the blogs I have missed over the past couple of days, and reply to you good people during the week.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

It's kind of funny how the Cowboys' record improved from them not playing. And I was all about the Green Bay game until the bastards at Fox Sports changed it to Lions-Cards. I don't care about which is more competitive, I just want to see Rodgers, Matthews and co. anihilate teams at Lambeau dammit!

That map you posted for Unfinished Swan actually made me a lil' dizzy ... think there's an accidental eye illsuion effect happening there.

Yeah there's something going on with that map. That's what I get for not just taking a screenshot.

Yeah Fox is odd like that. I don't care what they think, making fun of blowouts is always fun. The thing that sucks here is when the Chargers don't sell out and we get informercials on CBS that fill that time slot.

Ah, Arizona eh?  Been getting chillier here, if you consider 70's chillier.  Hope you had  fun trip.

The weather was the same here in sunny Southern California, except on the way back it was "windy as f**k" (actual meteorological term). I had some fun, and had some good conversations.

I'm going on a trip next week for Thanksgiving and will be bringing my Vita. I'll have to check out the store and such. I'm going to need games to play.

Nice pack the Vita with some good stuff man! Shoot a lot of the physical titles have dropped in price.

I wonder why the Vita always says "can't download on this device" every time I buy something. It's clearly not true because a minute later I get a message saying, "finished download" and the game appears on the home page. Anyway, I got Another World.

The Vita is odd like that. What bugs me is that the icon for certain items you are downloading is broken. I mean c'mon Sony. I do hope more of my PSP digital games will be available on the Vita. I really want to play the Capcom compilation that has that Street FIghter Jewel game.

Yea, that would be cool. I'd like to be playing Ys: The Oath in Felghana on Vita right now. My wobbly UMD door is a pain.

Yeah Black Friday sucks.  I'm going to ask my woman for Mordor for xmas, and I'll end up buying a copy of Far Cry 4 for myself this week when I get paid.

And that in a nutshell takes care of Darth for holiday season.

Oh, and I need a new pair of Nikes....so there'll be that.

That sounds like a good Holiday Season. I know there will be a lot of games on Thursday Night/Black Friday that I want so it shouldn't be a problem just waltzing into Target, getting my games and then waiting in line. The people fighting over TVs/Consoles and other big item stuff will be gone.

Sneaker shopping!!! (yes it needed three exclimations). If you have a Nordstrom Rack check out their stuff. It can be hit and miss, but there is some cool stuff for around $50.

I've been to AZ twice, and really liked it both times. The plants and animals fascinate me, they're so different from what I'm used to.

I spent my weekend being social. Group sing in New Hampshire on Saturday, and spent the day with Jason's parents on Sunday celebrating his birthday. Also got some play time with Sleeping Dogs.

That's why I like your pictures. Everything is green, and the area here is desert. I leave the desert in California...for desert in Arizona.

That is a fun filled weekend!

LOL, it's very brown here at the moment, and then it will be very white before too long.
