There is balance in the force 79-77, 105-102

My college lost its ESPN2-filmed game in overtime 79-77, ending an extremely long win streak for the men's basketball team at home.

At least there's this video showing the highlights that make the SFA Lumberjacks look good and shows how crazy that stadium was. Lots of cancelled 8am classes made that possible. lol

You can hear the "You suck" chant from the fan section when the opposing team misses a shot a little before the 4-minute mark. The alternate for when they make one is "You still suck." It's fun, but I also think it's kinda tacky and makes us look a bit jerky. I dunno. The wave showed towards the end of the vid (try to spot me in the back in a blue Cowboys hoodie in the very back row) is classic though. Anyway, a tough loss, especially since the final play could have tied it (ball rolled out of rim) and sent us into double overtime, but the team looked good and it seems like the newbies are starting to gel with the NCAA vets on the team.

The team's official hashtag for this season is #DreamBigger, which was on the white posters they handed out to people

But then the Dallas Mavericks, my favorite NBA team, ended someone else's (the Washington Wizards) home win streak by only one score, so I guess it balances out.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. The local Raising Cane's gave SFA students a free combo for the purchase of one since the b-ball team scored 60+ points, so I got the Caniac and ate it tonight and will give the girl I have taking care of Catara while my family goes to Joplin, MO instructions to let that cat have the other chicken meal on Thanksgiving, after the breading is removed of course. Can't leave the pet part of the family out of the fun on T-Day.

I got to level 7 in HabitRPG and did my hill sprints today after some calf pain left me out of commission over the weekend. Oh and my car got fixed, so now I can go to Wal Mart for some protein powder. I can still do my workouts without the nasty crap, but I improve faster with it and those protein shakes are filling enough to keep me from eating bad stuff like I do when I have to rely on actual food for protein.

Still working on Limbo and Legend of Korra gaming-wise. I admit to looking up a part of Limbo I was stuck on and got pissed at myself when I realized how simple what I was missing was. I thought I'd tried it too, but my timing brain wasn't thinking straight. As in, I did what was shown in the video, just not in exactly the right way. Piffle.

I caught the original TMNT movie on Netflix and forgot how dark and gritty that movie is. Felt more like the comics than the cartoon to me. I admit, the one I remember most from childhood is the second one, but mostly the first part of it when the Domino's guy joins them. I honestly have no nostalgic recollection of the "Ninja Rap" and can only remember seeing it in my adulthood, while I definitely watched the second movie quite a lot on VHS and remember enjoying the third in theaters as a kid. Weird.

Planning on renting 22 Jump Street this weekend while I really focus on my thesis and hope to see Mockingjay soon. Gotta finish Fault in Our Stars which I keep saying, but should be able to over the holiday.

Oh and I got Lorde's Pure Heroin for free on Google Play. Honestly, my favorite tracks are the singles from it anyway, but hey, it was free!

Caught an episode of Gotham monday and guess they have their finale this upcoming Monday. I'll probably watch the finale and then watch the rest online later to see how things came together. I've only seen the first episode, part of the second, and was in-and-out of a re-run they showed on some Friday. And of course, I'm looking forward to the new Legend of Korra as always. Looks like Yoda-Toph will have cause to wreck some stuff here soon. I wouldn't mess with her swamp, old as she may be.

Still debating if I should get a new console on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, or wait until I'm really sure which console I want. All three have a bunch of pluses and I can't really think of any clear winner in terms of what I want to play in the long run. Aaaargh, I wish I had the disposable income to get more than one.

How are you?

I love all 3 of the ninja turtle live action movies. The third one wasn't popular with fans but I still loved it. Then your family got lucky, I remembered the ninja rap song and would sing it. My mom and dad probably had it just as memorized as I did. Sadly I can't remember song lyrics barely anymore.  I can stuff in books and video games but I have the memory of a fish with song lyrics and dates like birthdays.

Gotham I plan to watch once it's done for the season. That way I can binge watch it. Console wise there are some good deals in store for black friday. I was originally gonna go to target on black friday but I'm not now. Instead of waiting for game deals I decided to grab a Samsung tab 4 since it had a great bundle at best buy for the price of the tablet. Now I believe I get payed on cyber monday though so I might just keep an eye on amazon that day for any last min gifts.

Yeah, I need a new phone too.

yeah I sold my dead mac and I'm considering whether i should get a PS4 or a new audio interface for my PC.  I'm leaning towards the interface, but it would be nice to have a PS4 for my brother to play when he visits during xmas.

I'd go with the interface, if you're planning on using it in the long run more.

that's true.  But Chris Y made the point that I should do something fun for a change.

He has a good point.

You do you, boo. Wink

I know, but the lure of the interface i strong.  if I had it I could use ten instruments, and then eventually 14, rather than the six I am limited to now.  But on the other hand, maybe it would be cool to play some damn next gen games.

Yeah... I looked up a bit in Limbo too. Don't feel too embarrassed! And I really need to watch 22 Jump Street. The first one was so damn funny!

Agreed on all points.

I just hate when I look something up for a puzzle in a game and I'm like "I tried this almost exactly how the uploader did and only messed up on timing!" Much as I love puzzlers and platformers, I sometimes feel cheated by the fact I solved the puzzle and can't get the platforming down exactly right. Then again, platforming is part of the puzzle here, so I'm just trying to protect my ego. lol

EDIT: Also SPOILERS IN GRAY (CAUSE I COULDN'T GET WHITE)

the physics of that cart made no sense. Yes, pushing it farther up that hill made it go away long enough for me to get across the electric strip, but a hill like that would give it more forward momentum. Plus, I'd already tried pushing it to the top of the hill before looking it up on Youtube, just not as high. By "as high," I needed a few centimeters and still had to time the jump pretty close. Blarghon jargon!

That's the spot I got stuck on, too. I should go back and try it again so I can finish the game.

The trick is to push at that lower rail as long and fast as possible. You should then be able to make the jump closer to the end of that electric strip before the cart activates it

Spoilers above.

Oww, that part. I wasn't a big fan of it either.

Yeah, glad to know I'm not alone at least.

I hear you can score a decent Xbox 360 bundle for 199 these days.....

I think I'd honestly buy a PS3 before a 360, but in either case, I consider my laptop my mostly-functional 7th gen console, especially since it has a 360 controller and I beat Tomb Raider (2013) on it.

Fine, but I just heard someone saying that generation 7 is now officially dead. No more new releases, just dumbed down ports of current gen stuff like what I heard about the new WWF game. It apparently lacks a career mode for the Xbox 360 version. It's included for the Xbox One version. I think I'll have to do a "looking back at Gen 7 blog" now.

I consider a generation of consoles dead once all the new ones come into the picture honestly.

Sometimes titles are still released for last gen for a while. PS2 and Xbox still had great titles come out the first year of Xbox 360 and PS3. This holiday season is just feeling like the end of last gen to me, even though X1 and PS4 have been out, and certainly everyone will call 2013 the end of gen 7. I wasn't thinking of a look-back blog last year, but I'm really getting into one now.

Oh yeah, I know games still come out for old systems, sometimes the best ones. I just think in a mainstream sense, the coming of a new generation of consoles pretty much means the (at least fast-forthcoming) death of the old one in terms of media coverage, online support, user base, etc.

I hate it when I brake down and look up a game for clues to pass a portion of it and find how easy the answer is.

That was a fun video to watch. College Basketball athmospheres are so much fun. Like I said before it is a shame SFA lost because that was such a good game. I heard the I Believe That We Will Win Chant! Other chants can be tacky but fun, our student section has a "(team name) sucks" when the game is a blowout, and "you should transfer" also during blowouts.

Console wise, I always say find the one that you would get the most use out of.

Me too. Me too.

Yeah, I dig the I believe chant and I figured other stadiums had equally tacky chants. lol

And I know, but I have no idea which one that would be!!!
