What I've been playing.

Last week I managed to finish Monument Valley. The 10 levels went by way too fast but boy was that a cool game for puzzle enthusiasts. According to Snee there is DLC. Hey that rhymes. :)

I will be looking into that shortly but bottom line I loved it.

I've been checking out my PS TV. It is such a cool little unit. I like the fact that I can now play PSP and Vita games on my TV. I checked out FF Tactics: War of the Lions for a bit and played some Muramasa Rebirth for about 15 minutes, I'm going to be adding some more PSP games shortly. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Gods Eater Burst will be next.

I still have so many Vita games from PSN+ that won't work because they use the rear touch pad or whatever but I'm expecting that many new Vita games will be forgoing the Vita's touch gimmick and be compatible with my tiny console. As long as there are plenty of RPGs I'm happy. I'm going to be looking for a cheap copy of P4 Golden very shortly. I can't wait to get my hands on that.

Ah, the joy of new toys! I had a fun session of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance with my friend Michael last evening. Need more couch co-op hack and slash games...

When I do that, I usually copy and paste into the appropriate spot and then delete the original :)

Not at all OCD... Not me.

Yeah I saw you playing that yesterday. I don't usually do co-op so I'm no help on other games.

It's good to have some co-op games, gives me that warm, nostalgic feeling from when I was in my early 20s and my brother and I used to go back to his place after Sunday dinner with our dad and game together.

I'm going to seriously consider the PS TV next time I have a PSP game to play.

Yeah soon as I realized I have a bunch of PSP games to play on it I was pretty happy. As I mentioned to Nicole they aren't great looking but they aren't that bad either.

Does it use the fullscreen on the games? My bf wants one but he was wondering if the games showed up well on TV or not.

Yep, the ones I've played display full screen. Obviously blowing PSP games like FF War of the Lions up that big was never the developers intention but it still looked ok. I'm going to try out Gods Eater Burst soon.

Zero Escape and Muramasa look pretty good.

so with the PS TV you can play VITA and PSP games without either unit?  It just uses a PS3 controller?

Fill me in.  What's the price?  I may be willing to jump on this one.

I picked one up on sale at EB. Normally the unit on its own is $100 and there's a bundle with has a PS3 controller, an 8 GB memory card and a digital code for Lego The Movie that is normally $140.

I got the bundle for $100 and needed a new controller anyway so I went for it.

It doesn't play all Vita and PSP games. Some of the Vita games use the rear touch screen and other functions so they don't work.

It does play 164 Vita games and a whole whack of PSP and PS1 games.

Here's the latest list from the store.

Persona 4 Golden is the only Vita game I own.  I have no idea when I'll buy a Vita.

Oh that pesky touch gimmick. I always found it funny to play early Vita games that tried to shoehorn every Vita feature into the game. The Uncharted game I felt actually used them well, except for the swipes during fights. That was just odd.

that sounds like a nice bonus that the Vita games can play on there. so long that the back touch pad doesn't get in the way of course. I've always wondered how it would fair better than the PSP with component cable connectors.
