I love the Lego games but I wish they weren't so glitchy. I couldn't finish the excellent Lego The Hobbit because of a glitch. I do have Lego Batman on disc in my collection somewhere.
Late to the Party: LEGO Batman: the Video Game

After finishing Sleeping Dogs and South Park: The Stick of Truth, I was a bit up in the air as to what to play next. Mount Backlog is very high, like Mt Everest proportions, so too much choice was the issue. But, inspiration came from Goztecs (Thanks, Chris!) and I settled on LEGO Batman in a shorter timespan than normal after finishing off a game. I'm always perpetually late to the party, this game's been out since 2008 and I started it once, a long time ago, and never got past the beginning part of the second level. I can now say I have not only finished it, but completed it 100% and I'm only lacking the Sidekick achievement to 100% the achievements, too. I could cheat and do it myself with a second controller, but I think I'll invite my friend Michael over for some co-op gaming and get it then.
All in all, it was a fun romp, and seemed to be slightly less glitchy than some of the newer LEGO titles (looking at you, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean!). I think sometimes less is more, I had more fun with the simplicity of this game than I have with the newer LEGO titles, as well. And there was just one minikit that took me forever to get. It involved sliding down an ice ramp and having to hit a series of five gates and you only got one shot at it. I restarted that level over and over and over again, and finally resorted to a YouTube video, and even then it took me a few tries to get the timing down right. Boats and planes were other frustrations, LEGO vehicles don't steer for shit, but I think anyone who has ever played a LEGO game knows this.
My favorite characters to play as were the Mad Hatter and Harley Quinn. They were both extremely versatile, with the Mad Hatter, you got three useful abilities in one character, and Harley Quinn just seemed more responsive and easier to control in areas where you needed precision for double jumps. I unlocked the last two characters in the wee hours of the morning, so I have no idea what they can do yet.
My favorite levels were the zoo level in the Hero missions of of the second chapter (you can ride an elephant, what's not to love?) and the Batmobile level in the Hero missions of the first chapter (shooting the crap out of everything and getting rewarded for it with lots of LEGO pieces never grows old). I also liked the music that was playing in the background of the Villains Mission Room. It's a classical piece, and I know I recognize it, but it's not coming to me. OK, just looked it up - I knew it was familiar! - Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.
Well, I'm off to dig another game off Mount Backlog. Kinda maybe leaning toward Yakuza 3, but you never know...
