The last time I gave you guys an update we were still celebrating Halloween! As you know I usually bring one or two songs with me to share with you guys in each blog. Well, I've been writing out a big holiday update but there were too many songs to reasonably put into a single blog, so I decided to throw together this two part music entry, eight songs a piece.

Some of these songs came out in 2014, some of them didn't. This is a collection of songs I heard for the first time this year and really loved.

There are a lot of fans of hard rock and heavy metal in our community but not everybody appreciates death metal like I do, so there's a variety of genres in here and I've only included songs that are either instrumental or have clean vocals, that way there's a better chance more of you can appreciate them.

Now hurry up and sift through the music at your leisure! I hope all the songs work for you and you don't get region restrictions or any of the other nonsense youtube does to us from time to time.

As I mentioned earlier, an actual update is in the works as well. See you there!

That song came off an EP that they did called Newborn Sun and that whole EP is about 16 minutes long but it's fantastic. You can find it in its entirety on youtube if you want to hear the whole thing.

With my adoration for metal being well known around here, it seems odd that my favourite track was Dive. That was an amazing piece of electro pop, and I really need to dig more into that.

I love that too. You're going to like that whole album I bet. The album is called Dive, the whole thing is on youtube if you would like to see more of it. Back when I was playing Red Dead Redemption for the first time I would play that whole Tycho album on a loop while I played and it felt like it set up the perfect atmosphere for some reason.

When I read this I immediately thought of a doge meme with the dog saying, "Many music. Such song. Very listen. Wow!". I like doge memes though so they're the first thing that comes to mind in most situations for me lol.

I like Real Estate so I'm marking these to listen to later when I'm not at work.

That song is from the newest Real Estate album called Atlas, and that entire album is incredible. I love every song on that thing, it's a beautiful piece of work.

I noticed here your progression from soft to heavy.

Very excellent song selection Mike. My personal standouts were the offerings of Plini, CHON, To Cast a Shadow and Edenbridge. The first two had excellent guitar work and just sounded beautiful to listen, like, you can relax and let your imagination flow. That they might be also close to Progressive Rock also help. The other two offerings were also my favorites, one part because of the female vocalist and the other because each set a very nice mood. Set Afire a sort of slow and moody feeling that sometimes relaxes and Move Along Home good ol' Symphonic Metal.

Off to the second part!

That's awesome. Glad you enjoyed them, Alex! I like CHON because it's kind of funky and groovy. That song from Plini is haunting in a really pretty way. Also, Selenium Forest is a great name for a song. Set Afire and Move Along Home are also great songs and I like how you desribed them.
