Carrier Command is a remake of the 1988 version of the same name, its an action slash strategy game developed by Bohemia Interactive and black Element Software and published by Bohemia Interactive and Rising Star Games, and was released on september 28 2012,I had pre ordered this one on amazon and I tried to pre order through gamestop and they had no record of its release which I had found that strange, anyway Carrier Command is a real time strategy game where the overarching objective is to conquer and control islands,it features a 33 island archpelago on the moon Taurus.

the players fundamental unit is the carrier, from which they may deploy and dock up to four areial units and four amphibious units. other offensive and defensive systems are present such as drones which protect the carrier when its under attack. Battles take place in the air,on land and in the sea,the player can control any deployed vehicle at any time.

Traveling between islands is real-time and seamless, island are composed of 6 distinct climatic zones, including wastelands, artic, marshlands, volcanic, mountains and temperate. The game features realtime weather changes and day and night cycles.islands may be used, once controlled,in one of three ways, defense, mining,or production. The story takes place on the planetoid of Taurus,a pivotal battleground in the war between two factions the United Earth Coalition, and the Asian Pacific Alliance, the latter having gained control of earth in an apocalyptic conflict.

Anyway its a really cool game but not with out its flaws the main problem with the game,is the AI pathfinding is terrible but theres an update to fix this thats already been released, but short of that its a good game like i said before its got a steep learning curve and the games difficulty is just brutal, even on the easy setting, the graphics are good not the best i have seen but certainly not the worse either, the voice acting is well not great but gets the job done.

Over all this is a good game despite the few issues i mentioned,oh and a word of warning at the begining of the game you start off as the commander in fps veiw and the first 20 minutes has some generic first person veiw and its terrible but after you get to your carrier the game is awesome,so bottom line definetly a worthy purchase, and i gave it a 3.5 out of 5 only for the issues i pointed out and one of the issues were patched so there you go.

I was interested in trying this game out and you are more positive than most seem to be. I never played the original, but was a huge GATO and Silent Service fan so I'm always drawn to naval combat games. I'll have to check the bargain bins and give it a shot.

Like I said in my review it does have a steep learning curve and by all means dont judge the game till u get to your carrier cause the begining will scare most people off, and since they updated it, its 10 times better but I really like it and its priced pretty cheap and well worth it.

This game always looked cool to me.  I'll wait for a nice Steam sale and pick it up.

That is a cool looking carrier. You think Navy carriers will ever look that awesome? This sounds like one I would enjoy. What system is it on? Can't believe I've never heard of it.
