Thinking About Putting Inquisition On Hold

I've been playing Dragon Age Inquisition for about a solid month now.  Thus far, I'm over 40 hours in, and have just romanced the sensual Orlesian diplomat Josephine Montilvyet.

However....

I'm beginning to feel a bit burnt out on the game.  Certainly by this time I've experienced quite a lot of what Inquisition has to offer, not the least of which are BADASS dragon fights.  I also just finished up the Orlesian court storyline that exposes a wicked triple-cross.

I'm thinking I'm going to send the game back into Gamefly for now and purchase it at a later date.  I've been neglecting a host of other games I've purchased that are beginning to demand attention....Assassin's Creed Rogue....Mordor....SSX.....and a few others that have started to become available on my Gamefly GameQ.

I'd like to finish at least one more game prior to 2014 concluding, which would bring the grand total up to over 20 games I've finished this year, easily....which, interestingly enough, is easily the most I've completed in any year during my time as a gamer.

What do you guys think?  Should I hold out for another 20 hours in Inquisition?  Or should I move on and knock out one more game before year's end?

Your advice is most welcome.

Can't help ya pal o'mine. Besides if you'd take advice from someone who is getting so fragmented he hasn't finished a game in ages except for Monument Valley, well, I'll let you finish that sentence. See how I am?

"That's even more than less than helpful." - Jack Sparrow

it's all good.  The mere fact that the thought entered into my mind makes me want to send it back.  Besides....Ps3 games are getting accelerated markdowns these days, being last-gen software and all that.

I'm thinking if I send it back and play through a couple other games, by the time I'm ready to pick it back up it'll be down in the 30-40 dollar range.  Hell it might already be there.

Yeah I'll probably take the plunge at a sub 30 price. I know if I bought it right now I wouldn't play it anyway. I haven't seen it anywhere for less than full price.

I know if I start P4 Golden now everything else will die so I can't let myself go there.

I'm trying to do a Suikoden/SII thing right now. I'm amazed how fast I get sucked into the Suikoden games once the recruiting starts. It's like a comfort game for me.

speaking of P4, I been thinking about that game lately, the ps2 version.  I'm in Naoto's dungeon.....think I might make a push through that while it's still fresh in my memory.

That's a plan Dan. :) If you let it go too long you'll need to start from the beginning

This is part of the reason why I haven't purchased the game yet, I knew it would suck up a lot of my time and I have a pending backlog. I thought it would be best to play it when there is a gaming drought next year. Everything I've heard and read about the game is that the story and characters begin to develop towards the later half of the game. That Bioware story telling that I love from Mass Effect and Dragons Age is supposably at the tail end. 40 hours is helluvalot of time to sink into any game really. I think I put like 60 hours into Dragon Age 2 recently, so I'm not feeling a long ass game right now. Now back to Reaper of SoulsCool I honestly didn't like Mordor, but you can knock it out in like 20+ hours I suppose. It's all action and stealth, but I don't think that Nemesis system everyone raved about is in PS3 version. I think I did everything too. I don't think it's worth putting Inquisition down for it though, but that's just me. I would recommend taking a break or playing something else in between, like Hearthstone or something.

i'll probably get a few days in with Mordor while waiting for my next Gamefly game to arrive.

Far Cry 4....here's hoping.

20 is a nice round number, so I'd put Inquisition on hold if you're getting burnt out on it.

Also, I had no idea SSX was still going.

i dont think many people are still playing it.  However, I played a sesh and was drinking hella beers during said session, and the music totally pulled me in.

Plus, it's December....a snow-game is in order for sure.

I'm 60+ hrs into DA:I.  I'm not tired of it yet, but I hadn't been playing a month either.  It's been more like a couple weeks.  I'll probably have the game beat in an week or so.  I'm playing along with my wife.  We take turns palying and she & I share info with it each.

If you're not having fun, I say quit.  Spend your time on something you want to play.

it's still fun, just not as much fun as it was 30 days ago.

If you're burnt out, move on. I just burnt out on Borderlands. There's new DLC and I can't get interested. I just want to play something else.

I say move on or do what I do, switch up what u play each day or every few hours. Ive been hoping back in forth between not just games but systems the last few weeks.

I switch around a lot, but I never finish enough games.  I'm about ten hours in, but I really want to finish this one.

I'm really late to the party with your blog but when I feel I'm starting to get burned out on a game I put it aside. You tend to miss items that can be useful later on, and you start to hate the game and it feels like work. Put it down try something new, and get back to it later.

I sent it back.  I have Far Cry 4 right now and am enjoying killing Kyrati Royal Army regulars via elephant trunk.

Send it back. if you feel burnt out, give it a rest so you don't feel like getting it in the future. Nothing sucks more than dropping some heavy time into a game only to not want to play it again due to burnout.

I sent it back, big dog.  It's a great game for sure, but any game (besides Souls games) start to seriously get tedious after 40 hours.

BTW, I've put more hours into the Souls series than anyone on this site. ANYONE on this site.

=)
