Well, now I really hope Shovel Knight drops below $15 on Steam before Jan. 2.

It has been a long time. Life has been good, filled to the brim with work, Destiny, and not much else. Thankfully, I may have finally reached the point that I am moving away from Destiny. With nearly 144 hours logged into the game since it launched, I think it is about damn time. Do you have any idea the games that I have missed because of Destiny... well it was a lot.
As far as videogames are concerned, over the past few months I have picked up a bunch of Vita games including Resistance, Tales of Hearts R, Sly Cooper Collection, the Jak and Daxter Collection and Suikoden II. Hopefully I will finally sit down and work through my massive RPG backlog on the Vita. This past week, The Last of Us: Remastered dropped to an acceptable price and so I picked that up. I missed it last year, so I am glad to have a copy to enjoy on the PS4.
I am definitely looking forward to 2015. It looks to be a banner year for Sony platforms with all of the announcements that came at PSX. Shovel Knight being the one that I am looking forward to the most, even though I have enjoyed it on the 3DS. I just like having games on my preferred handheld, the Vita. Other games that I look forward to next year are The WItcher, The Order, Drawn to Death, Super Time Force, The Banner Saga and even FF VII. I know, I am an idiot, but I will probably FF VII anyways.
Speaking of Final Fantasy. I was able to get my wife to play Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts on the piano. It is such an awesome song. I wish I could actually find some more piano music like that.
I have seen websites starting to talk about the best games of the year, and so I have been thinking about that on and off over the past week or so. After a quick glance through 2014 in videogames, I can say that I have finished somewhere around 9 games released in 2014. That does not mean that I have not played anything else, to the contrary I tend to alternate between new and old. I will play something brand new, and then replay one of my favourites.
The games that I have played from this year are as follows... Threes, Strider, Hearthstone, Luftrausers, Infamous: Second Son, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Shovel Knight, Destiny and Monument Valley. If I were to rank them, Shovel Knight and Wolfenstein would be tied at the top of the list. Destiny would come in second, Infamous in third and everything else falls somewhere below that.
