Looks like the Fire Emblem rush is over

Well, that's if there ever was a rush. From what I've gathered talking to store employess at EB and BestBuy they were all short shipped for the launch date.

EB reported that they even ran out of download codes to sell. How is that possible?

The GameStop head office sent out a memo last week asking why the game isn't selling. LOL. If the stores don't have stock of the physical game and they can somehow sell out of download codes, how the fuck are they supposed to sell anything.

Now it appears that all stores have stock of the physical game but no one wants it. I'm not sure if that's because people have stopped looking or because the demand has dwindled but the store by me had the same two copies that they were shipped last week when I asked yesterday.

One thing I noticed is that the store I was in had no copies on the floor. The two they did have were locked up in a cupboard. Now I don't know about you but if I don't see a game on the floor I very rarely ask if there is stock somewhere else.

I guess all the people trying to sell it on the internets for inflated prices are screwed now. LOL

Snee must get Fire Emblem.  Must.  Must.

Look Matt, you know you're gonna buy it, I know you're gonna buy it, so go buy it already.

.... and I know it's not Larry this time because LARRY ALREADY BOUGHT IT! LOL (For anyone else reading this, it's an in-joke from 1UP)

Gamers are a fickle lot. It was a big thing the first couple weeks it was released, but now they are onto the next big thing. With the amount of games released these days, longevity is not a strong suit for the industry.

Yeah, gamers, we make me sick.

Yeah, having new games to sell locked in a cupboard is a pretty stupid strategy ...

Stupid is being too kind Joe.

This is just a mess, hopefully it didn't too negatively affect sales of the game.

Well I've seen it on shelves in many stores as of today. So all this doesn't fall on GameStop's shoulders. Nintendo really dropped the ball as far as getting the product out to the stores.

I grabbed mine on the day of release. I searched all over online, and since I live out in the middle of nowhere, I only found 2 copies within a 100 mile radius of where I live. So naturally I couldn't resist and I grabbed my copy as quickly as possible.

I honestly haven't noticed any other copies in stores are here though.

I dunno, I have three of these games, and they aren't really all that... maybe I just haven't played them enough...

Yes, you go back and play them again right now! :P

They aren't everybody's cup of tea. It's tiring making sure everyone stays alive in every battle.

I have seen about 3 copies this week between 3 Targets. Still none at GameStop.

That's probably because they're all locked up in cupboards at EB/GameSlop. Marketing strategy of the century!

Would they do that? LOL. Makes sense.

Oh god, price cons are the worst! Every once in awhile I see some guy or gal selling a game on amazon for hundreds of dollars even as amazon itself is selling it for around 20 or 30 something. You gotta be careful these days because there are a lot of frauds out there. Always remember you have options! Compare those prices!

Looks like I will be hunting for Fire Emblem.

It'll be more like shooting fish in a barrell than a hunt. LOL

I was in Toys R US this morning and they had 4 copies on the shelf.

I managed to score a copy of this and Etrian Odyssey IV. I've been playing nothing but my 3DS for a month now.

Same here. I love my 3DS!

I just checked today oddly enough, and all the EB's in my area have it in stock now (again).

Every EB within 100 KMs of my house has it in now.

I usually just go into the store with my mind set on what I'm getting and yell take my money while I wave it in an employee's face.

mothman

Yep, I'm usually a lot like that. If they ask if I need help I tell them "If I wanted help spending my money I'd ask my wife." "No respect, I get no respect at all"

Seriously I usually go into any store and know exactly what I'm looking for. I usually know more about it than the salesperson especially when it comes to electronics, computers and video games. LOL

I'm like you, I don't usually ask if I don't see the case out. Glad you found your copy and it's too bad that the selling strategy is so piss-poor.

Yep, I'm happy too. It's a great game but requires a ton of concentration. Put your Pegasus Knights anywhere near someone with a bow and they're dead meat in one shot. Poor flying horsies. :(

Looks like I missed out given I don't have the system for it. I'll focus on the Project Rainfall games instead. Even then I missed out on the series as a whole.
