Thanks Dad! (A Late Christmas Loot Blog)

I've been telling some that I would receive (or had already) a Wii U this Christmas. Well behold, my new step into the next generation of consoles. Aside from the games and consoles shown there, the console also includes Nintendoland, so i'm very well stocked on games, and with the games that are about to come or have just been released, i'm feeling like this was an excellent choice and a good complement to my Steam gaming. Seriously, thanks a lot dad!

Though aside from that:

I also received excellent Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire loot, the shirt and bookstopper from my dad, and the the first two comics from a friend.

Not shown here would be the other stuff I received in books, including House of Leaves (also from my dad), a random book about Steven Spielberg (from a friend) and the third and last book of The Hunger Games (from my mom this time).

Other than this, I also spent some money on the Holiday sales. Since the start i've bought the Half-Life Anthology (first game only, with Team Fortress classic), The Binding of Isaac (original, not Rebirth yet), Astebreed, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Escape Goat. I've been thinking on maybe getting an extra game, but i've been holding on that and at the same time, I let Transistor pass while it was on a nice promo.

Just to finish, i'm going tomorrow to Panama for a short stay for new year (it was planned to go to Orlando instead, but economic troubles prevented that) and probably won't be very active here, so see you guys on New Year!

I got the collector's edition of Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix on PS3, Sonic Lost World on Wii U, a few DVDs like The Wind Rises, a "Grunkle Stan" Fez hat from Gravity Falls, some gift cards, a Muppet book, and a Despicable Me Minion Fart Gun!

Thanks!

Why not something to say about the loot? Tongue Out

I was tired. Tongue Out

At first I thought the translation of Game of Thrones was JUEVOS De Tronos, and thought it was a funny parody version you were reading. Then I looked again. lol That's cool though.

I hear that The North Remembers reference a few places.

As for the Wii U, I'd love to play those games and am considering buying the console myself. I thought I was done with Nintendo hardware, but maybe not. The more I think about it, Star Fox and the new Zelda may be the main games I want to play this generation.

Very, very cool. I'm just about to get a Wii-U myself. Any day now. I can feel it.

When you feel like you can, that you need it and of course have the money, just do it.

I might play Shantae and the Pirate's Curse next and I think I want to play it on the big screen so I can see that awesome hair attack clearly.

that's awesome, Alex!  Youre really going to enjoy that Wii U.  It's a great system, and Zelda someday soon.  But you've already got a bunch of games to catch up on.

Happy new year!

Thanks Matt. I hope to maybe complete The Wind Waker before Zelda U comes.

Nice, the Wii U is a fun console. Have been playing Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros with friends. They're more obessed than the game than I am, always wanting me to bring my console over, lol.

If Nintendoland is any indication, the Wii U seems very apt for party games jut like the original Wii (minus the shovelware of course). I would like to get those games down the line.

Enjoy that Wii U, man. I love mine. You reminded me, though, that I still haven't played Sonic: Lost World. Gotta do that.... Super Mario 3D World is fantastic though. Play it multiplayer if you can!

Thanks!

I think it'll take a while to play the multiplayer of Super Mario 3D World, since I don't know if it supports for Wiimote and/or any other person has a Wii U for a second gamepad.

Enjoy man. Rayman, WW, and 3D World are all great, especially the first two. Wasn't a fan of Lost World, but I'm the asshole who didn't like Colors, so what do I know?

Thanks. I can't wait to play those once I connect my Wii U to a Wi-Fi source.

Nice dude, have fun with the Wii U! You're going to like 3D World and WWHD looks really great in HD. We can now play Mario Kart 8 and Sm4sh when you get them. When you do connect the Wii U to a wifi source, add me, I'm Captain_N_TGM on Nintendo Network. Btw, 3d World supports wii remotes and the Wii U Pro Controller so if you have anyone that can play with you because that game was already fun, but it's even more crazier with more people.

Thanks for telling me that about 3D World. Once I can put my already created Nintendo network ID on the Wii U, i'll add you. Then again, i'll also make a blog stating it.

Presents, I bought myself presents. The only present I got for other people were for my nieces and nephews. :)

My late Christmas gifts to myself were Alien: Isolations and Sleeping Dogs on the PS4.

I really hope that the WiiU picks up more steam this year.

I think the Wii U is very much doing fine since Mario Kart 8 and if not compete with the big boys, atleast be an excellent console with its first party support. The fact that they have much more exclusives than the other two so far doesn't hurt.

I was maybe planning on getting one last game on Steam before the sales were over, but backed down in the end. However, I did get some games that I plan on blogging about.

Nice haul! It's always so exciting getting a new console. I got a 3DS (completely out of nowhere) for Christmas and have really been enjoying it.

Be safe in Panama!!

There's nothing like the feeling of getting a new console and then unbox it. Congrats on the 3DS! I'm sure you'll have a very nice time.

I already returned from there, but thanks anyway.

oh! OH! You took pictures of your NINTENDO Wii U system. heheh for a moment there I thought you were going to....ahem, nevermind.

Good thing you got your hands on that lovely piece of Nintendo hardware, mroeso after word has come out that Nintendo ispulling out of Brazil. not sure if that affeacts you in your area but the article I read seemed to imply that Nintendo's pull out was to affect all of South America.

Tehy are still releasting half Life the first game in an anotology on PC and I STILL can't get it for my Dreamcast!?!?! For SHAME!?!?

Alex-C25

[Citation needed] on that source of Nintendo pulling out the Wii Us out of Brazil. It's first time i've heard it and for all I know it might be a rumour. I also doubt that if true, it would affect the rest of South America as each country manages their own exportations.

Well what did you expect? Half-Life was first a PC game. Besides, packs like that are common on Steam.

there you go. it's the one I found on my twitter feed. I'm sure other sites have got the story. Like you said it may not affect you given it's just Brazil but still heads up!

Alex-C25

Ohh I see. Shame for Brazil, but as Extra Credits documented on their Brazilian gaming episode, the tax is a bitch for console gaming so i'm not surprised they had to pull them out. Though as stated in the article, Nintendo isn't gone but MIA while the tax situation gets better or the importation gets posible.

But like I said, it doesn't affect the rest of South America as each country has their own tax importation, so there's no danger for the Wii U in Colombia at this moment.
