Three PSX Games You Must Play

So I have been playing three psx games that I found so good I had to share them these three titles are unique and very good and are excellent games that you nust try.

Brigandine is a tactical role-playing game for the PlayStation video game console, created by developer Hearty Robin and released in 1998. An American port, called Brigandine: The Legend of Forsena, was released in the same year by Atlus. In 2000, Hearty Robin released a remake of the game called Brigandine: Grand Edition, which included multiplayer support, along other new features. In the game, the player chooses one of the nations of the fictional continent of Forsena, and has the goal of conquering the other nations by taking their castles, using troops composed by human commanders and fictional creatures. Although primarily a turn-based strategy game, the game includes some characteristics of tactical role-playing games.

So I have been really playing some interesting games as of late and this one is really good.

In Brigandine, the player controls one of the six playable nations. Each nation possess a number of troops and castles. Each troop is composed by a human leader, called rune knight, and fictional creatures such as dragons, ghouls and fairies, which are called "monsters". The goal of the player is to conquer the entire continent by attacking the enemy castles with the controlled nation's troops (or troops from allied nations). Likewise, troops are also used to protect the controlled nation's castles from enemy troops' attacks. Brigandine features two gameplay modes, both turn-based: a preparation mode and a battle mode.

Design. Deploy. Destroy.Following a technical error in the satellite defense system, nuclear warheads were fired at Washington, Beijing, and Moscow. Minutes later, ground based sites fired in response to the launch. Millions died as nuclear firestorms wiped out the world's cities. Less than a million people survived the Collapse. Earth broke into hundreds of small rogue groups, and, as you would expect (they're humans after all), start battling each other over territory.

Warzone 2100 is a real-time strategy game set on the remnants of Earth. With fully 3D terrain and a complex unit design scheme, Warzone 2100was a compelling PC title. Eidos has now released it for the PSX, and thankfully it holds up rather well.

You start off with basic design crafts called the 'Viper attack unit' or builder unit. As you complete scenarios, you'll find artifacts, each of which can be researched to unlock a new unit component or make an old one more powerful. You can create up to 2,000 unit designs with 400 different kinds of technologies. The main distinguishing factors among your units are experience and the five weapon types. Warzone 2100 lets you transfer a unit's experience when you scrap an older unit to build a newer one. This puts an emphasis on carefully using your units, rather than simply drag-selecting them and throwing them in waves at the enemy. Creating the vehicles and implementing their overall effect is easily the most fun element in the game.

Kartia: The Word of Fate is a new Strategy/Simulation RPG from Atlus. A collaboration between Cozi Okada, the creator of Persona, Soul Hackers, and the Megami Tensei series in Japan, and Amano Yoshitaka, the character designer most noted for his work on Final Fantasy VI (III in the United States). The combination of wonderful character designs and fun yet complex gameplay make for a unique strategy game with a style all its own.

"The divine letters release the power."

The card which can create anything; that is the power of Kartia. The people of Rebus have lived with the power of Kartia since the beginning of time. The divine letters release the power of Kartia. Kartia fire illuminates the dark, Kartia winds flow through the sea, Kartia earth laid over a bed of seeds, Kartia water nurtured the plants. This was the world of Kartia civilization, a world of peace. The magic made their lives easy, and there was always enough for everyone. For thousands of years, the world of Rebus never knew of war.

But this easy life slowly began to corrupt the people. Jealousy and greed reared their ugly heads in the hearts of man. Such is the nature of man and chaos crept into the world. People took the limited power of Kartia for granted and the destruction of Rebus began.

Brigandine sure does look and seem like Ogre Battle on SNES.

Aw, I was hoping you'd say the three PSX games you must play would be Klonoa, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, and Brave Fencer Musashi.  And also Tail Concerto, but that would make four.

It's a shame, too, because that was my GOTY back in the year 2000 or whatever year it was released.

I played the hell out of Warzone 2100 back in the PSX days, I loved it. It was the first game I had ever played like that since I did not ever own a PC to game on ever. I never beat it but I was really close.

I've always been interested in Kartia, mostly because of Amano's art.

The only three of them I recall is the third game, and that's only from a magazine advert. if I see them in my retro stores I'll consider them.
