is Guilty Gear X2 #Reload. It could have been Stick of Truth, but Can You Run It was not so confident in my computer running that one and to be honest, I'm not the best when it comes to RPGs, South Park skinned or no.

Honestly, I looked at a few games that would run on my laptop, like Ducktales Remastered and Rayman Legends, before deciding to go with Guilty Gear X2, because quite frankly it was the game that most interested me. I think sometimes I see critically acclaimed titles and stuff that gets recognized as "the greatest ever" on here and forget that what I find exciting and fun really doesn't always mesh with critics or even this community.

Having said that, I think I'm pretty close to finishing Shovel Knight, at least as far as the main story and I can say that game deserves all the praise it gets. I actually really want to try and get all the achievements, not for completion's sake, but because the game is fun and the levels have been worth revisiting to collect loot and upgrades and such.

On the book front, I'm about 30 or so pages into Killing Lincoln. It's not bad, though I do kind of wish it would reference sources as it goes. There's an index in the back though.

Anyway, how is your second day of the New Year going? I have noticed way less top ten etc. lists for 2014 than most years on the Interwebs. Maybe it's just me.

In any case, leave a comment .. for shovelry!

I just bought my third copy of Dark Souls. It was so cheap, I just couldn't say no. Looking forward to seeing it after all the mods are applied.

I saw the Prepare to Die edition on sale, but I'm just not feeling it right now. And the last thing I need is another Steam game I'm not sure when I;ll play.

I made it through the sale without buying anything.  Not sure who I am anymore.  Tongue Out

It might also be that this year didn't have titles as interesting as last. At least not to me.

Well, there were some games I wanted like South Park and the MEtal Gear game, as well as a few indies I have on my wishlist.  But I'm at a point where I'm so overwhelmed with the games I have that I'm finally being more smart about it.

I've got to remember to download Shovel Knight when I get the chance. My brother told me it's on sale on the 3DS eShop, so I'll be sure to get it whenever Persona Q isn't occupying my full attention.

If you like old-school platformers like Mega Man and Duck Tales, you'll love Shovel Knight. Its sense of humor and all the goodies are just bonus.

As you know, I would like to get Shovel Knight once it gets a price reduction and no doubt that may happen in 2015 sooner or later. I also want to get Guilty Gear, but I have my unfinished business with BlazBlue....

After December 24th, I didn't buy anything else, but contemplated in doing so with Transistor before I missed its sale.

I bought both BlazBlue and Guilty Gear for under $5 and SK went on sale for $10. Not mad about any of those gets.

A few sites don't put their lists out until January. I know Plus10 isn't putting ours out until next week. Speaking of, did you write a list or not?

Also, I don't know whether I'll like Guilty Gear or not, but that art style is gorgeous.

David e-mailed me about my top 10 favorite games, but I haven't played enough from this year. I may think of a different kind of list over the weekend or something.

Guilty Gear is like a cross between the solid controls and impressive art style of Street Fighter IIIrd Strike and the batshit crazy combos of Marvel v. Capcom games with a metal soundtrack. So I like it a lot.

I'm sad that you didn't get DuckTales Remastered.  I really like that game.

I'm reviewing a Guilty Gear game right now.  It's the newest one.  Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN.  Not sure how you say "Xrd."  I'll probably write a blog about my favorite Guilty Gear characters soon, too.  Let me know if there are any that you think I would like.  I need all the help I can get.

When you are done with Shovel Knight, you should try one of the Shantae games.

I was about to, but it just the trailer just didn't make me feel like I had to play it right away. Remember, I have no nostalgia for the original game, even though I love the theme and liked the cartoon as a kid.

I say "Zerd." Like "third" but with a z sound. No idea if that's right. I actually haven't played GG since I rented it for my older brother's PS2, but I like the blonde guy who wears blue and is all holy. I played as him a lot. He's rivals with the red guy with black hair.

And I forgot about Shantae! I'll probably get one soon, even if it's not on sale. They're pretty cheap anyway.

I picked up GGXrd for PS4 when it came out. I like it quite a bit, but I'm a fan of Arc System Works (GG and BlazBlue) in general. It's officially pronounced "EX-rd", BTW. :)

Haven't played Shovel Knight, but I'm enjoying Shantae and the Pirate's Curse on Wii U. I guess the second game is on Steam? I don't know, I don't frequent Steam very much.

Risky's Revenge is the one on Steam.

I meant to get Shovel Knight and Child of Light last year but never got around to it. I think I have credit on my Wii U too...hmm. I spent the second day of 2015 back at work. It was kind of sad.

Yeah, I'm going back to my apartment on Monday most likely. Sucks.

I bought Shadow Warrior, but ended up installing Metal Gear Rising on my computer instead. Those 20 GB plus games are frustrating to download.

Any time somebody uses the phrase "greatest game ever" or whatever it automatically makes me suspicious. There's been too many disappoints. I actually played GG Reload recently too. Some of the characters in that game are weird as hell. The last boss in the arcade mode is also kind of insane. I really liked it even if I didn't know WTF I was doing half the time lol.

Did you like the soundtrack?

Aboboisdaman

Yeah. I had to turn the voices off though. Having characters say random things every few seconds was incredibly annoying. It was the same way with Blaz Blu.

I can understand that. I actually kinda like it cause it makes it feel more arcadey to me, but yeeeaaaah I don't want to hear that pirate girl's squeal forever.
