So 2015. Twenty Fifteen, yup a new year and it feels good. I have to admit I spent the first full day of 2015 sleeping. I woke up around 9pm, and then around noon I took a power nap…of four hours. Yeah that’s a productive Monday. So currently I started typing this on Thursday while watching the Oregon offense just take apart the Seminole Defense. *Ok so I took a couple of minutes off to watch and Florida State just imploded and it looks like Oregon is moving on to the Championship game. It is insane how Florida State is getting outplayed right now.

Where are my manners, hello Pixlbit Nation, hope you 2015 is going great. I’m going to avoid the neighborhood gym for a bit because I know its going to be packed for at least a couple of weeks and besides I do want to enjoy this cold weather (currently 46 degrees here in what is normally warm Southern California). Since it is the New Year we all have some Resolutions and I have a couple of gaming related that I’d like to share

Mount Backlog

I have a ton of games on Mount Backlog and I’d like to take a couple of them off the list. I’d like to include games from consoles older than the PS3 but let’s be honest, I’m going to tackle the PS3, 360, and Wii games first before thinking about the older stuff and that’s not including the handhelds.

Buy Less Play More

If you read my Quick Hits blogs I tend to buy a lot of stuff. I’m going to try my best and not pick up games solely because they are cheap. I have a bunch of games I haven’t played yet that are solid titles, and some that are questionable but they are just sitting and that doesn’t do me any good.

Remove Duplicate Games

I have quite a few games that I have multiples of. I bought a game thinking I don’t own it and because it was probably cheap. When I take pictures for my collection blogs I’m going to weed them out and probably donate them to a thrift store, and let some other person get some deals, plus this might drop my current game under 3,000 and I can do another blog about hitting 3,000 again!

That’s my list. It’s short, but I think I can manage to stick to it. Watch Target go nuts tomorrow and have a bunch of stuff on clearance. Oh Target…

Since this is 2015, yesterday I started my yearly backing up of all my files and what not. In total I backed up around 100GB of Graphics Projects, some albums, photos, and documents. I also decided to clean up the iPad. I wanted to get rid of apps and games I don’t use to make way for new games and apps I’ll probably use for a couple of months.

My home screens. The main screen I like to keep empty because I don’t like clutter on my devices, which is the exact opposite in real life. That should be a resolution to keep both clutter free.

What I’d like to focus on is my games folder keeping with the focus of Pixlbit.

I got rid of a handful of games including a couple of games I talked a lot about here. Star Wars Commander, Plundernauts, and Ridge Racer I just stopped playing them. I still play games like Simpsons Tapped Out, and the Angry Birds games I really don’t want to remove even though I rarely touch them. I think at some point I will remove them from my iPad as well.

In one of the games I’ve played a bunch of Spider-man Unlimited the developers gave this as a celebration of 2015

The Iso-8 is the premium currency in game, and its good to receive it for free. I think its also due to some of the technical problems the game was having like missing rewards for hitting milestones and what not.

In other game news I completed my first game of 2015

So I played through the PS4 version and ended up getting the Platinum trophy so I decided to give the PS3 version another try especially after learning some tricks form the PS4 version. I was 80% finished by New Year’s Eve with only having to do a couple of minor things in the city to finish the game. This morning I ended up finishing the 10 pictures that Spider-man/Peter Parker has to take. Once I finished that I realized I was missing two characters, and one vehicle and when I was driving around New York I realized two sections were still under a shadow and there was my missing characters and vehicle.

After unlocking those items I spent 10 minutes unlocking the final trophy of changing the Hulk to Bruce Banner 50 times. I now have two platinums for the same game. I don’t think I’ll give the Vita version a play for a while because I’m a bit burned out on the Lego Marvel games but trophy wise I am I think 60% complete.

I also beat the Story Mode in Capcom vs. Marvel 3 on the Vita. The game is a lot of fun, and I'm still learning the moves so currently Button Masher Chris is working on actually stringing combos together.

A couple of days ago one of my friends came down and we hung out for a bit. We went to a local eatery and they added something new

They added a giant poster of the great Alex Morgan. I really should get one of these made. We did the usual and I bought some stuff, and I’ll share what I bought in the Pickups section.

Randoms

I can’t wait for this flick

Walt Disney’s current President and the Millennium Falcon. How freaking awesome is that?

This is my first favorite meme of 2015. Maybe I just like fat cats. Reddit always delivers

Pickups

Games

Ok so before the New Year I had a coupon at GameStop for $5 off and it was expiring so this was the perfect time to try NBA Live for $14 bucks. This game is freaking HORRIBLE! Not only are the graphics bad (step your game up EA) but there are no sliders. Who thought having a modern sports game without sliders was a good idea? You know what would have been a great game? Releasing NBA Live 10 with updated rosters. That’s all they had to do. I’m returning this game this weekend. You know its bad when I actually return a game.

Dead or Alive was a Target find that was in their 50% off cardboard stand. I didn’t want to spend $15 on it but $10 was the perfect price.

When my friend came down, I went to a couple of Targets and found some games (this was in 2014 so technically I didn’t break my resolution). The clearance section was good to me one last time in 2014

I finally picked up Wheel of Fortune after they finally dropped the price to $5.98. At another Target I found these older titles

I missed picking these up at K-Mart when they were $4.99 each but I got a second chance at Target for $7.50 each. I’m not complaining I had to spend a little more.

Music

I was going to buy this the week it released but forgot and got caught up in Christmas Shopping. Well I spotted it at Target and finally added it to the library.

Wu Tang Clan!

Toys

Target is starting to clearance out their toys again so if you’re looking at spending some Christmas cash you might want to start there.

I added the other two sets from the first series of Microfighters. I really don’t care for the Prequel sets so I’ll probably skip those, unless they drop to $5 each then I’ll get them for parts and figures.

The local Toys R Us was the first to have 2015 sets including my one favorite set from The Lego Movie

I loved the double decker couch and it comes with five figures.

Back to Target we go for the final pickups

These poly bags came out to a $1 each and I bought them for the parts and figures

Series 2 Microfighters appeared at a Target in the next town so I grabbed the two I wanted for my collection and they are my favorite vehicles from the movies.

Well Pixlbit my goal of reading everything you folks wrote before New Year’s didn’t happen so I have a Pixlbit backlog, but I’m slowly catching up! It is Friday and I am off to do something interesting…or just go outside and enjoy the freaking cold weather.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I'm actually pretty much trying to follow all of your gaming resolutions as far as Steam games. I also cannot wait for Star Wars and love fat cat memes. We're a lot alike, you and I.

Oh and

I idn't know they had a field goal blocked after though, so at least FSU has that I guess.

Heck yeah, that's how we roll! That game was crazy, and I thought the Ducks would put up a better fight than they did in the National Title game.

My friends and I were joking before the game that since we had no dog in the fight, we were gonna root for Oregon cause a mutual friend named Gilly was from there.

Dammit Gilly became the new Dammit Romo. lol

I usually have a rule in these games that if one of the teams has a Heisman winner, root for the other team. I rooted for the Ducks because they are Nike but in the middle of the 2nd quarter I knew they were done because Ohio State's running back was channeling the 80s Miami Hurricanes with the half jersey. Should have stuck to my Heisman rule.

Congrats to Gilly on being the new Romo LOL.

I've been thinking about backups too. I thought about it last year as well. Still thinking. . .

I think its worth taking a weekend to back up all the important stuff. You never know if a hard drive fails, or something gets corrupted...plus it frees up more room for digital hoarding Tongue Out

Yea, I should go get those archival DVDs I used to get to do this. Making a note of it. . .
