First off, Happy New Years Everybody! Glad to see you all here again!
As you know, winter is usually a dead spot for gaming, thus not too many blogs from me. Plus, I don't own an Xbox One or PS4, so that limits my choices a bit.
Anyhow, I saw this really stupid article up on Yahoo front page, actually the #1 article on Yahoo's front page titled this:
because of this...
" the PS4 was no longer my favorite console. With its frequent (and meaningful!) updates, the Xbox One had surpassed its rival in my view. "
and this...
" If the frequency of updates from both Microsoft and Sony don’t change in 2015, the Xbox One is going to be a more capable console than the PS4, flat out. It’s close enough now where arguments can be made one way or the other, but that won’t be the case in 6 months. Microsoft will capitalize on this disparity if it needs to."
That's right gamers! Sony has so many updates that it will cause Sony to collapse and implode and Microsoft will get all the exclusives and win the console wars. Even though the writer also points out that Microsoft has frequent updates too.
Pixlbit. Let's make an oath to be better and more honest writers than this guy this year. I've stated before and I will state it again, I really appreciate the direct feedback from real gamers and bloggers like you more than journalists sometimes, and this is why. The bias here is so blatantly obvious. Not that blogges can't be biased fanboys, but I would expect more integrity from a main stream journalist. Then again, I've never heard of the site the article is posted on before, so there is that. Also, maybe he is right and PS4 has annoying updates, but then just say that and don't say Microsoft has a fucking blueprint to kill Sony! *facepalm

Oh, and here is the article:

I'm ... still probably going with an Xbox One over PS4, mostly cause of controller comfort. I had no idea Playstation controllers would become so uncomfortable for me as an adult, but here we are and the One controller is extremely comfy in contrast.
But yeah, I still don't know what this guy's talking about, I'm sure Live and Network have equally annoying updates.
It's an honest opinion. I remember reading about how gamers couldnt play some PS4 and XOne games over the holidays because the disc required updates and the networks were down. Patches are an issue that comes up with a lot of games and devices including 3DS and iOS, but the conclusion that PS4 will be annihilated due to updates is exaggerated.
That's just dumbass. I guess the diversionary tactic of failing in Europe and being a non-starter in Japan has lulled Sony into a false sense of security. Cunning devils.
It was probably they who hired Loser Squad to DDOS the Playstation Network. It would have worked too if the idiots weren't so dumb they forgot who to hit and took down both companies.
The update issue with Sony has been going on for years; ever since PS3, or basically internet connectivity really. MS does do updates too, but they are pretty quick downloads and installs usually. I find it only mildly annoying on the Sony side and it doesn't make me any less interested in getting a PS4. To say this difference is enough to lure gamers away from PS4 is rediculous. It didn't happen when this was an issue with PS3 back in 2007.
I swear the Internet has had too much in the way of stupidity pop up and appear recently. I've been sticking close to pixlbit for several weeks since the game journalists sites are just getting worse and worse. It's not even the writers at times, it's the damn comment section. It's utterly appalling what the hell comes out of people.
Actually the comments section of the original article erupted into a flame war. I think Yahoo just saw a trending post and posted it on the front page. Not really sure how they aggregate info on their front page. I tend to get a lot of gaming headlines so I think there might be one of those algorithms that tailors content to your search web visits or whatever. I'm with you though on these click bait articles.
Not even going to waste my time reading that article. I have neither system at the moment, and will be waiting for three things to happen: 1) more games to come out; 2) price drop; and 3) enough disposable income to not feel guilty spending that kind of money on entertainment instead of rent, utilities, car, food, etc.
