Pixlbit how are you doing on this warm Martin Luther King Jr. Day? I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know today was a holiday until I turned the TV on this morning and the local news was talking about different celebrations going on today. I think the only thing I had planned was to later on today start prepping my the games for pictures because since I hit 3,000 I was going to do an up to date group of blogs about my game library, and since Blog A Day is coming up, that would be the perfect place to post my stuff. This past weekend I scratched another game off Mount Backlog. I have to say I’m on a crazy pace of finishing games I started. The game I took down hasn’t left my 3DS XL. I really should start other games but this one is too much fun.

So New Super Mario Bros. 2 was the next game to come down off Mount Backlog. NSMB2 was a Thanksgiving Night pickup that I played maybe the first world and then stopped playing. I probably got caught up in the PS4 but I think a couple of weeks ago I picked it up again. This past weekend I put in a chunk of gameplay while being lazy and watching TV, finishing off a world each time I picked up the game. Saturday Night while watching the weekend Jeopardy! I finished off World 6. I thought the story mode of the game is short especially since other Mario games I’ve played go to World 8.

The one thing I didn’t experience in previous games was the Giant Mario where you just run through a section of the world taking everything down. That was a lot of fun, but it only lasts for a short time.

I don’t know what was going on but in one of the early worlds I couldn’t get the timing right in one section right after the midway flag. I would either fall into the purple lava, or get killed by one of the little animals. It got to the point where I got the mercy suit…and still had problems getting through this section. I was getting greedy because I wanted to get the two big coins in the level. After a good 10 tries I finally completed this level with both coins.

The big catch with this game is the bonus worlds, and trying to earn one million coins. I don’t know if I will play it enough to hit the one million coins but so far I unlocked two out of the three bonus worlds. I want to collect enough big coins to check out one of the bonus worlds but I am currently sitting at maybe 30 coins away from doing so. I’ve been going back through the game and I think in World 1 I have all but two of the big coins.

NSMB2 is such a fun game and a blast from the past I would recommend this game to anyone who likes the Mario games.

My next game is one I was excited for when I heard about it and I played a decent amount of when I wasn’t playing New Super Mario Bros. 2.

WWE Immortals is a tablet game that looks and plays exactly like the tablet version of Injustice. In this game Neitherrealm reimagines the WWE roster into fantasy characters. You have WWE Superstars like Paige as a dark witch,

Roman Reigns as a Centurion, and Trish Stratus as a White Witch. The game starts you off with three characters

And you battle through different worlds, with each world having their own fight tree. Since this is a freemium game each battle costs between 1-2 stamina. Once you exhausted your stamina you can either buy more with real cash or stop playing the game so it can recharge. I’ve said it before, I’m not a fan of this model for tablet gaming and I feel it is one of the reasons why people will always look down on this section of gaming.

Since this game is connected to Warner Bros. you can sign in with your WB login and it keeps your stats

This came in handy when I was syncing my unlockables from the console version of Injustice to the tablet version, and vice versa. I believe this also keeps track of the number of times you login because there are daily rewards

Today will be my Day 5 reward and I could really use an extra 6,000 in WWE gold so I can buy another pack of cards to create a third team.

A strategy I started using in Injustice is having multiple teams of 3 characters, so when I exhaust the stamina of one group, I can go back and play through an earlier level and level up my next group. Currently I am one character away from making three groups. Since the current roster of fighters is small I will probably unlock a card for a current fighter in my stable, which will make them stronger.

As for gameplay everything is the same from Injustice. Tapping on the screen is light hits, swipe left to right or vice versa is a heavier but slower attack, and two touches on the screen blocks your opponent’s strikes. Graphically its up to par with Injustice, with the exception that it’s a little darker in the Bray Wyatt swamp.

If you like Injustice or a fan of the WWE give this game a shot.

In other games I’m playing:

Lego Batman 3 – PS3

I’m 74% finished and I completed all the tasks on two planets. I figured I would tackle a planet each time I play before finishing off the little things I need to complete in the various levels. I should be able to platinum this game by the end of the month

NBA 2K14 – PS4

Still playing MyGM of the New York Knicks and they are currently sitting at 18-1 with the lone loss being to Minnesota of all teams. My team likes to score but can’t get a defensive rebound to save their lives. I don’t want to trade anyone because I think I have a good frontcourt with Paul George (I traded Melo), Tyson Chandler, and Amar’e. The one player in that group that makes sense to trade is Amar’e but I’m a fan of his so I really don’t want to do that. Oh real life is ruining what could be great frontcourt on both ends of the floor.

Battlefield 4 – PS4

I haven’t touched this game in a week and I need to finish the solo campaign. Currently I’m around halfway done and I want to finish it especially since I want to pick up Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Target has a Cartwheel coupon for the game.

Alright Pixlbit it is a nice day outside especially because it is a holiday so I am going to either enjoy it, or sit indoors and take pictures. Have a good week folks!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Tyson Chandler, now there's a good team member.

Fun FYI about Tyson, when my cousin was younger, he was at a basketball camp with a teenaged Tyson Chandler. I have been casually following him since he was drafted by the Bulls.

That's awesome. Wish I could meet Nowitzki just once. Would wear my #41 St. Elizabeth Saints jersey if I still have it ... over something else, cause I doubt it still fits. lol

I got 9,999,999 coins in NSMB2 back on Dec. 25th. It was a Christmas miracle!

That stat is incredible! Props for staying with the game long enough to hit that many coins

Its not a bad game, I just wish there was more variety in the fighters you face.
