Between last night and this morning it got a lot smaller. It's only 1/3 as big as was mentioned. LOL

Actually the size it was reporting yesterday was approximately the size of the PS4 version and the PS3 version combined. Since I don't have a PS4 I'll be leaving that one undownloaded.

I hope this game does well so they will remaster / remake RE2 and RE3. Code Veronica would be nice too. Although those would probably take way more work.

They attempted to port CV to HD a while back and it came out horribly

All that guy did was complain about the graphics, controls and camera. It's an upscaled port of an old school RE game. What did he expect?

amen to that brother.  This is cool and all, but a HD RE2 will make me praise Gods.

I was kinda shocked to see how big it was given how the original GC game came on two mini disc that I'm sure wasn't 7+ GB combined! Either way diggin this blast from the past. Now what to do with my GC copy....

You are correct. The maximum capacity of a single GC disk is 1.5 GB so even if the disks were jam packed with data it's only 3 GB less than the size of a standard DVD (4.7). I guess the additional data is related to the HD and the widescreen presentation.

Let me know if they fixed the god-awful clunky movement.

actually, from what I read, tank controls are optional now.

Yes Tami, you can choose proper analog controls or the old tank controls. The new control scheme can be a little jarring against the static backgrounds. You can run up a flight of stairs and find yourself running back down them until you get used to it.

only 7 gigs?!?!? try telling that to my Commodore 64, man!

When I emulated, I was always taken aback by the fact whole SNES games could be only a couple megabytes, maybe even kilobytes.

i know, it seems so small compared to the enjoyment you can get out of it.

LOL the C64 used 180 KB single sided floppies and cassette tapes. I used to take the double sided 360 KB floppies and put games on both sides.

i'm still amazed people used tape.  THat was sort of before my time, but our TI99 had a cassette recorder for that purpose.  never used it though.

Not that surprising when you think that old mainframes used tape for storage. It just meant that data was stored sequentially and was much slower to get at

That's an insane amount of data. Isn't that more than ten times the original game?

Then again, I guess companies don't care about compressing games anymore. Even though it still matters a lot because of storage space. Lame.

More than 10 times the PSX game but probably only just over twice the Gamecube remake on which it is based. The PS4 and Xbone versions are over 14 GB!

I really want to grab this soon. I'll have to get it on 360

From what I've seen and played so far they did a good job and I like using the new control scheme. I quickly remembered that you don't just grab everything you find because you won't be able to pick up things you need. I need to remember where the first storage room is.
