I want a 16 GB Vita card and even 30 bucks would be better than the 40 they usually are. I'd prefer a 32 but they are still waaaay too expensive as are the 64's.
Quick Hits: Lego, Real World Skeletons, And Other Randoms

Pixlbit Nation, Happy Freaking Friday! It is a nice 70 degrees here in Sunny Southern California. I do miss the week of winter weather but it is nice to have the windows and doors open. As I type up the latest entry in the Quick Hits blogs I’m listening to the playlist that is full of the CDs I’ve been buying recently. It is an 800-track playlist, and currently I’m around 150 songs in. I’m listening to find tracks that I find catchy, that I’d like to listen to again. While syncing this playlist I found that iTunes needed to make room so it removed my Podcast playlist. That sucks but at the same time I have a ton of new content to listen to anyways if I want to achieve my goal of listening to everything in my iTunes library. Alright Pixlbit enough with the talk about what’s on the iPod, let’s get this Quick Hits Party Bus started!
Chris’ Must Watches
Oh this week on Real World Skeletons was a doozy.
The way it was edited Tony and Madison who have been friendly on the show had sex and the next scene was Tony’s on again/off again girlfriend becomes the second skeleton to visit the house. Yeah it was awkward especially when Tony’s girl goes into Diva Mode and urks the house especially Madison who is super friendly. There was a big blowout where the girl said everyone in the house was there just to push an acting career. After this big blowout Skeleton number 3 arrives and its Tony’s ex-girlfriend whom he called a “stalker.” She was easily the most entertaining of the skeletons because she gave no damns and told the house how it really is and was friendly with everyone. This show is freaking great because it is so trashy.
These two are still my favorite roommates. Nicole on the left I call “My dude Nicole” because she’s easy going and has a crazy Staten Island accent. I think I understand what she’s saying now. The girl on the right Violetta I call the MVP of the house because she was starting drama on the first episode, and she has no filter. I hope these two end up on the next The Challenge, because so far the Are You The One folks are boring.
The Challenge: Battle of the Exes II
This week’s episode was the tough one because this is where Diem left the show. It was sad to see how sick she was, and MTV aired some footage of her flying out of Panama and back to New York. I think for the most part MTV handled it well and they showed the I <3 Diem special right after where current and former Challenge Cast remembered moments from her time on various Challenges.
When the cast was announced I was rooting for her and CT to win, even though I felt Bananas and Nany were the strongest couple.
Jemmye and Knight are becoming my new favorites on the show. They are so freaking terrible at Challenges but since they are returners they won’t get pushed into the Dome this early in the game.
The U: Part II
I’m excited that this documentary found its way onto Netflix. The U and The U: Part II are easily my favorites on the ESPN 30 for 30 series. It is amazing how much NFL talent went through the University of Miami, and its fun to watch how insane it was behind the scenes.
The Super Bowl Specials
Oh its that time of year again when we are in Super Bowl Season. Since I don’t have a dog in this fight, I don’t have a rooting interest. I usually root for the team with the most Aztecs on the roster but Heath Farwell of the Seahawks no longer plays for the team and is more of a coach. I don’t really care for Tom Brady especially because I was a Drew Bledsoe fan (I still own my “Flying Elvis” Shoulders Patriots jersey) and I didn’t like his exit in New England. The talk now is deflated footballs and it seems like people need extra drama. First it was Jerry Jones “paying” off officials, then it was the Dez Bryant catch, now its footballs that are flat. I can’t wait for someone to say that the coin toss was rigged. It seems like every game there is some added drama because if the balls weren’t flat the Patriots would have maybe given up one more touchdown in a freaking blowout. Oh as for the actual Super Bowl I think I’m going to side with Legion of Boom over God’s Nephew. I can’t wait to see all the new lifelong Seahawks fans continue to go Miami Heat fans and leave the building early because their team is down
Chris’ Podcasts
I forgot to mention that at the end of 2014 while looking for new content other than random wrestling podcasts I found a video game tandem that was interesting. It was a father and daughter who talk about gaming called Videogame Generations.
I like the concept where it’s a family discussing the games they like to play. The father steers the conversation and his young daughter jumps in with her thoughts and it is a good listen.
Roaming Around…
Target
I don’t know what happened but the Clearance Toy Aisle was almost wiped out by the time the 50% off tag hit the shelves. I think Lego reseller guy buy all the Microfighters sets. Last year there was a good amount of Lego stock that made it to the 75% off point but this year all that’s left is a couple of Ninjago and Chima sets.
While roaming around an out of the way Target I spotted this
The Target by the mall is nuts. The retail for these blind bags is $3.99 and they are going almost a full dollar more. Toys R Us has inflated Lego prices but even their blind bags are at retail. I can’t wait for this Target to clearance out these minifigures.
The Swapmeet
Wednesday was the first time back at the Swapmeet in a couple of weeks. There were a lot more vendors but no sign of Fake Lego Lady or Lady who sells bags of Lego bricks. I hope Fake Lego Lady comes back soon with new products because I really need a Red Hulk to complete my set. I have two legit Hulks one with gray pants, and the other with purple pants, along with my Gray Hulk. There was a new video game vendor and from what it looks like they were selling off their collection. He had the Madden 08 or 09 that was the game in Spanish. I should have bought it because it is a rare game around here. I’ve only seen it maybe a handful of times and I would only buy it for the novelty. The one positive about looking somewhat young is that the people who hand out flyers for Directv, and other randoms didn’t hand me a flyer.
Chris Updates His Vita Memory Card
Target Clearance has been good to me, and this usually goes in pickups but since I’m talking about migrating all the data I’ll add it here
This card was buried behind a couple of 8GB cards. The price scan of this card actually came up to $30 and since I had a $10 gift card burning a hole in my pocket, it came out to $20 out the door. It has been awhile since I upgraded memory cards, with the last time being moving from the default 4GB card to an 8GB card I found on clearance at Target. Anyways the backup and restoring was painless. I backed up via Wifi which took a good 40 minutes
This was my view while moving all my saves, and a couple of downloaded games to my laptop. After it copied over, all you have to do is power down the Vita, swap cards, and then power it back up and then hit restore. This time I decided to connect it with the USB cable and this time it was a lot faster (shocking I know). The new card works fine and I have a lot of space. I promptly added two games that took up 2GB from my PS+ library.
Pickups
Games
The first game I found was a Wii Clearance game that I actually wanted to try on the 3DS but since I found the Wii copy I might as well give it a go on this console.
The next game I bought I originally said I wouldn’t buy but I decided on getting it
The one positive is that I didn’t buy both Sapphire and Ruby like I did with X and Y. So far I created my character that I named Maximus and I collected one Pokemon. I’m hoping I can get to one of those centers where you can heal your Pokemon so I can bring over my team from X and just steamroll other trainers. I also bought an eShop card because I thought my Pokemon Bank needed to be renewed but it turns out I still have 50 days before I have to pay another $5. I used another $6 in credit to buy a game I’ve been waiting for
I loved this game in the arcade and I’m still not very good at it, but its fun. I didn’t realize how many levels are in this game but the one positive is that I can start at the level I left off on (still on level 2!)
I used 150 of my Club Nintendo coins to get this game
I never bought the physical version so I couldn’t pass this game up. This game is a little different than other SM games because the fireball has a crazy ricochet and the turtles become bombs. So far I like this game.
At the Swapmeet I went to a familiar vendor who sells games at reasonable prices and for $7 I bought my first Gamecube game
The case needs some cleaning but the disc and manual are fine. The one drawback was when I went to play this on my Wii it said I needed a Gamecube memory card. Looks like the next time I’m at the mall I’m visiting the mom & pop game store to buy one.
My final game purchase is an accessory
I ran out of space in my other Vita game case, and it was time to get a new one. These are solid little cases it I was in luck that I found another one.
Lego
Since Target has pushed last year’s Lego sets to 50% off clearance it was time for me to stock up on sets I wanted for the parts
The Creator sets are cool, but I wanted this set for the wheels. I think I’m going to build a Monster Truck. The middle sets I wanted because of the horses and having another Emmitt character. The bottom left Microfighters set I wanted to add to my series one collection, and the second one is for the figure.
At the Target that had the expensive minifigures had a couple of Clearance Sets but they were stuff I didn’t want. While walking through the regular Lego aisle I saw these sets and decided to scan them. They were unmarked clearance so I can have two Monster Trucks, and I found the last Microfighters set to complete Series 1. I actually built the ATV set while watching Jeopardy and my BJ Penn UFC Action Figure fits on it so it is now on display.
I’m not too thrilled about Series 2 other than the AT-AT and Snowspeeder. The other sets are from the prequels and I’m not too jazzed about those.
Other Toys
While picking up the Pokemon game at Walmart I spotted this car in the Hot Wheels bin in front of the Lego Aisle
I’m not jumping into Hot Wheels but some of the cars that I find interesting I’ll pick up.
At the Swapmeet there is this one vendor who sells action figures and purses. Kind of odd but hey I’m not complaining.
I found a hooded Cobra Commander from the early 2000s. The joints are different from the mid 80s-early 90s figures my brother and I had. Funny thing is this is my first Cobra Commander figure. I never really cared for Commander, Duke, and Flint so I never bought them. I dug Destro, the random Vipers and the other GI Joes.
She also had a bunch of these WWF figures from the early 2000s
I bought both for $9 and got Ric Flair (WOOOOOOOOOOO!) and Triple H.
Well Pixlbit it is time for me to go. After all the talk here about Blog A Day I really need to start taking pictures of the collection...I'll probably start Sunday. Anyways have a good weekend my fellow Pixlbiticans
That’s all for now, more later!
