On the first day of BaD, it was recovery day

That Super Bowl is up there as one of the greatest games I've ever seen. I still think you should run it at the 1 yard line with Beast Mode (give the man some Skittles!), but well deserved win by the New England Patriots. And even after those great plays by former Footlocker employee Chris Matthews and that freak catch by Jermaine Kearse.

So to recap:

Odell Beckham Jr. one-handed catch against Cowboys in regular season: L

Dez Bryant not-a-catch catch against Packers in divisional round: L

Jermaine Kearse freak catch against Patriots in Super Bowl: L

Maybe wide receivers should stop making amazing plays; they always seem to lose when it happens. lol

Anyway, the commercials were depressing suckage, except that one where Chevy trolled everyone into thinking their cable went out. The room I was with freaked out when that happened. Probably easier to catch everyone off guard since they were talking, but still a fun moment. The only funny ones were ones I'd seen on YouTube already.

Anyway, I ate way too much shit and mybody is letting me know it. Yesterday was like my ultimate cheat day. Hell, we even went to the bar after the game, where I noticed Ron Perlman was in the season premiere of The Blacklist. I'm gonna have to watch the first season on Netflix.

So how are you all doing?

I didn't watch the Super Bowl at all. Just didn't care. And yeah, I heard the commercials were a let down over all this year. But that's okay. I spent the evening playing Final Fantasy II on my Game Boy Advance SP Wink

The commericals were, the actual game was awesome.

Didn't watch the Super Bowl, spent the day with Persona Q and catching up with some shows on Hulu.

Which shows? I need to watch the Friends episodes I was saving for after the Super Bowl, since they are titled "The One After the Super Bowl" parts 1 & 2. Purely for nostalgia's sake, then I want to catch up on Blacklist as much as I can.

Rocky & Bullwinkle, mostly. The animation's pretty bad but I find it so charming.

ah, that game was ok.  Not one of the better games I've seen, but it was better than last year's superbowl for sure.  It went fast though, I'm not sure why, but the quarters just seemed to evaporate. sometimes superbowls seem to last forever.  As far as disappointing Patriots victories, the Eagles superbowl was by far a better game and far more disappointing to me at the same time.  Tongue Out

We had super nachos, which were really good.  we didn't even have dinner, the nachos were it.  plus my mom made fudge and banana bread, and my brother came over.  IT was a nice "holiday".

That game was great. I'm sure the Pats/Eagles one was too, but don't harsh my vibe just cause your team wasn't in this one. Tongue Out Mine wasn't either.

And yeah, we too had nachos and dip for dinner basically. They made an excellent spinach crab dip that I'm sure will take me days to run off.

well, I don't know if that game was great because the Eagles were in it, if anything it was almost unbearable to watch at the time because I was so stressed.  in retrospect though, I appreciate it for the offensive battle it was.

For this one, it seemed more like a defensive battle.  And the Patriots seemed to always have the ball, with the Seahawks doing their thing without spending a lot of gameclock amazingly enough. It was just more of a defensive battle I think.

And also, like i said it was a shorter game, with the Patriots controlling the clock.  definitely one of shorter superbowls I have seen.

I liked all those things about it. I don't mind seeing defensive battles, because it makes the offensive plays stand out more to me. To each their own.

I liked the clash of clans commercial with Liam Neeson.  I couldnt help but laugh.

Yeah, that was definitely one of the better ones.

Such a good game. I don't think I had that much fun watching a game since another WR had a big catch with David Tyree's helmet catch.

I'm currently catching up on some Day 1 BaD's before finishing up the pictures of my game collection. There should be a rule or National Holiday calling for a holiday on Monday so people can recover from the Super Bowl.

Yes there should.

I didn't watch the game, but I did eat more than I should. I've been on a Lean Cuisine diet for awhile now and it's working. Still got a ways to go though.

Just don't let the cheat day get in your head. Bounce back and be consistent. Best of luck, diets are tough when you're starting out.

I'm going to give YOU some Skittles!  And I'm going to put Skittles in your car and see what happens.  You know, like in that Fiat commercial with the blue pill.

The commercial you mentioned didn't fool me because the roof was closed on the stadium, and it was open during the game.

Like I said, we weren't paying close attention.

Did you know Seahawks running back Marshan Lynch has a Skittles endorsement cause he eats them before every game? Now you do.

Since I live in Colombia, we never get those commercials. The breaks were pretty much like a normal day, but just shows how American Handegg Football is an United States thing.

I mean, you can keep your foot-involved football. I like a game that goes scoreless in the first quarter fine, but I mostly can't stand that for an entire game. Tongue Out I liked the World Cup ok, though. I'm more open-minded to soccer/futbol than I was.

Well I'm certainly a happy little Pats fan, even if I wasn't feeling well and missed out on the Super Bowl party I was supposed to go to. I think every New England fan was having bad David Tyree flashbacks with that Kearse catch, though. And I still think Butler should have gotten MVP for that last minute interception, because that probably saved the game for them.

Pretty much feel the same, except that I was rooting for Seahwaks (though also kinda not caring). I'll have to show you the video of the ONE Pats fan at the party I was at celebrating at the end. lol

I had a Sam Adams Octoberfest, that's the real reason they won. That Pawtucket Patriot ass beer tha real MVP!

I'm good. Just getting sick of hearing about American football :p

I don't actually care. I'm not actually sick of them at all. As far as sports go NFL seems like one of the less boring ones to read about :)

The sport itself or the drama surrounding the sport?

Blake Turner Staff Writer

02/03/2015 at 06:07 PM

Both really. I've seen enough cheesy American football movies that I sort of know the rules, and the stuff that surrounds it is kinda entertaining. Also - the culture. We don't have fantasy football leagues or anything over here.

Had a cheat day myself today. Not feeling very good from it. I'm cutting back on everything this coming week.
