Well hello February, Pixlbit Nation and Blog A Day. Yes the month where we all get to see the awesome stuff you folks post every day. What am I looking for in this year’s rendition? I’m looking at the middle of the month were folks start to run out of things to write about, and see how creative everyone is. Don’t worry people I will be there with you struggling to find something. Anyways remember to have fun and enjoy the month; with that being said let’s start off Chris’ BaD with some familiarity, my usual Monday Ramblings about random games I played, but this one is a bit special because I’m letting some TV stuff usually saved for Quick Hits to ooze on in. Yes Chris will do a quick overview of his thoughts about the Super Bowl!

I finished another game off Mount Backlog this past weekend!

I was a big fan of Saints Row IV and a couple of days ago I picked up the next mini chapter to the series. Its longer than DLC but has less content than a full game. I would call it the EP of video games. You know like how some musical acts will release 5 or 7 tracks of new material but it isn’t enough for a full album. This is Gat out of Hell. This time Gat and Kinze go into hell to save the President.

I bought it on the 360 because that is where I have my SRIV save and it brought over my President, which is cool. The gameplay is the same as IV along with every aspect of the game. I finished the game and I am currently trying to find everything. My one complaint is that there are still achievements for driving even though some of the things you can do in it are much more fun. If you’re a fan of Saints Row and have $20 burning a hole in your pocket give this game a try. There is a lot of laugh out loud moments, including one that really caught me off guard, along with all the zany things associated with the Saints Row universe.

Still Playing…

NBA 2K14

I have this weird superstition that I need to play a basketball game before the Aztecs play their game (especially odd considering during football season I don’t play a football game until after the Aztecs finish their game). I took my Super Knicks into Boston to play the last place Celtics and the game went to three overtimes. I don’t know what happened but the Knicks went something like 1-10 from the FT line in regulation and the game itself went to three overtimes. Rondo was killing my lack of interior presence and you would think having Steph Curry, JR Smith, Paul George, A’mare, along with Tyson Chandler you could get some scoring. Nope. Third overtime and they were gassed. I ended up losing by 9. Hell of a game, and I got a blurry picture!

Simpsons Tapped Out

A new update last week means new characters

Both were a little pricey, but I have them in my collection

If you haven’t seen the episode in the end they spoof the famous end of The Godfather where Lisa plays Kay, and Michael is being hailed as the new Godfather in his father’s old office.

Chris Recap of January

Well I had a couple of goals for this year and so far I’m keeping up with them. In my quest to finish off games off of Mount Backlog I am off to a solid start finishing seven games for the month

And three games went I earned a Platinum Trophy. Here’s to more games I finish in February!

As for game pickups I think I did fairly well in curbing my spending.

Most of the stuff there is super cheap and were bought on sale. I think the only new releases on my list are Gat out of Hell and the most recent Pokemon. I didn’t go nuts in the GameStop 3 for $10 sale, and I think I did ok with my Birthday spending because with the GS coupon I only spent maybe $20 at most on games I wanted to fill holes in my game library. I also passed on spending $50 on the PS4 version of Saints, and $40+ on Disney Infinity 2.0 along with a bunch of figures.

Chris Reviews The Super Bowl

So yesterday NBC had something like 10+ hours of pre game shows for the Super Bowl. I skipped on all that and spent time with Netflix binge watching Arrow (Its SOOOOOO Good, more on that in Quick Hits). I posted this on Instagram

I haven't worn this jersey since college

Drew Bledsoe was my guy. He was my favorite non-Cowboy, and when he came out of Washington State is is also around the time I went hardcore into sports card collecting. Somewhere in my closet I have all my Bledsoe cards as well as my figure when Drew Bledsoe was in Dallas. I never bought a Drew Bledsoe Cowboys jersey. Weird. Anyways I decided because of that I would root for the Patriots over my “fellow Stanford alum” (remember I joked about this after completing a Stanford Online course) Richard Sherman’s Seahawks.

Props to the workers in this office building!

The first half the game was really good. No scoring until the second quarter and then the teams traded touchdowns right before the half.

I think we were all waiting for halftime to see what Katy Perry would do and she had one heck of a show. I called the “Mini Olympic Opening Ceremony” with all the stuff that surrounded the field. It had giant animal moved by people, tons of extras holding up props, an electronic field display, tons of music, and fireworks. It was shocking to see Missy Elliott there because I did say “What Year Is It”. I’m not going to lie I was waiting for Katy Perry to shoot fireworks from chest like her video, but it didn’t happen. My college band director works with the production team that does all the rehearsal stuff for the College National Title game, and the Super Bowl’s so it was fun to say I know someone who helped put this all together.

Second half was more of the same from the first half. The Patriots were moving the ball with little chunks here and there, while the Seahawks seem to stall a bit before hitting that huge WR for a couple of big gains. During the fourth quarter when Brady was starting to lead them on their game winning drive I told my friend that this was moment that he will earn his spot in the Hall of Fame. Hate him or love him dude was clutch.

This was everyone when Seattle had the ball on the 1 with under a minute to play. Seriously who throws the ball at that moment? You have Beast Mode would could trip and get into the endzone. At worst you still have 3rd and 4th downs to play with if he can’t get into the endzone. That was easily the worst call in the history in the history of organized football.

After this happened, then the Seahawks just implode with that offsides call and then their fight. People are going to point out the Legion of Boom was hurt, there was flat balls on the Patriots sideline, blah blah blah, it was a good game up until some decided to pass the ball on the 1 yard line.

There was a lot of buzz surrounding EA Sports’ prediction.

Somewhere in some random country a guy is looking at this short and wondering how the Seahawks are back-to-back champions when the shirt he got last year says Indianapolis Colts are Super Bowl Champions.

I thought this was a cool picture. Sherman is loud, and likes to talk. I like that more than the generic answers players give and I thought this was a class move.

Easily the worst thing about the Super Bowl was the commercials. I’m sorry but 99% of those commercials were horrible. Remember when Super Bowl Commercials were fun? Yeah now Nationwide has us all depressed, every other commercial is something heart warming, and seriously what is up with all those Clash of Clans clone game commercials? Kate Upton and Liam Neeson are not getting me to download their games. The only one I really liked was the Lindsay Lohan commercial. The Bryant Gumble car commercial and the Doritos commercial about the guy trying to get the girl to sit with him on the plane were other favorites. Someone should have told Nationwide that Peyton Manning singing about his Chicken Parm would have been better.

Before I got this was my favorite tweet from last night

Alright Pixlbit, enjoy the start of Blog A Day!

That’s all for now, more tomorrow!

I liked the Pierce Brosnan commercial.  He's still got it.

How was Ground Zeroes?  I keep on meaning to buy it on Steam.

I forgot about that commercial. That one was good.

Ground Zeroes is a glorified demo. Its one level that isn't bad and there are a lot of side missions. Also since it is a Metal Gear game the cut scenes are good. If its cheap give it a try, it builds up to the next Metal Gear game.

I have a theory this year's Super Bowl ads were really ALL for Zoloft.

I have a love/hate realtionship with Sherman, but I do like that he has an actual personality. I think they should rework Lynch's contract if he's not going to do interviews; don't pay him for it then. And I like Russell Wilson. But Tom Brady and the NE defense played a great game and kudos to them. And yeah, what in the hell was that call?

It has to be. The majority of those commercials are full on Debbie Downers.

I do like athletes that have some personality, and can back it up. I'm down with Beast Mode and I dig Russell Wilson. That Patriots team stepped up, and seriously props to Pete for taking the blame for that call but that OC made one bonehead call on that play.

I wrote about the Super Bowl, too, on my blog.  You are more than welcome to read it if you like.

The flying pig Doritos ad was my favorite. I can so see Jason's youngest niece doing that. And the Fiat ad. That was funny.

Haha that was a funny one. Doritos has had some funny ads over the years.

That was such a bad call, way too much risk involved and look what happened.

Wouldn't mind getting some of those shirts. Easy way to confuse some people.
