Games I Beat:

Dragon Age: Inquisition (360)

 photo DAPrintFeb_11398124188_zps22240672.jpg

It took over 120 hrs, but I got it done.  There were still more than a few sidequests I didn't do.  After reading a review that states doing most of the sidequest didn't affect the ending much, I decided not to waste anymore time on them and put this adventure to bed.  I have plenty of other games to get to.  DA:I is a pretty good game.  I had many frustating moments with the game though.  The 360 version is full of glitches.  I had to save often, because at any moment something could happen that caused a graphical issue that didn't go away or the game would just crash.  I kept 4 separate save files and saved every 20 min or so.  As fun as this game is, it has issues.  I still plan to get the PS4 version though.  From what I hear, it doesn't have as many issues or maybe Bioware decided to patch them.

Dragon Quest IV (DS)

It is finally over.  After 72hrs of playing over the course of months, I'm done with DQ4.  It's a fun game, but it was time to move on.  The next DQ game I play will be DQ5, but I won't start it right away.

Games I'm Playing:

Lost Odyssey (360)

 photo lost-odyssey-01a_zps60da8772.jpg

I've been busy lately, so I'm slowly playing through it.  I started it over a week ago and I'm barely 10 hrs in.  One thing is for sure is that this game is hard.  I never died so much at the beginning of a game.  It's very discouraging.  Usually when I run into a problem in a rpg, I just grind the problem away.  Grinding in this game takes too damn long.  I win a tough battle and I get nothing.  I get like 3 points towards my experience.  What's up with that?!  I watch a bunch of video reviews on the game and none of them mentioned how hard it was.  The all seem to just love the game.  Though I'm barely 10 hrs in, I have my problems with it.  I almost quit a couple times.  Early today I played and I had a boss battle.  The damn thing kept killing me.  It's a big worm thing.  Called a bogimoray.  After dieing 4 or 5 times, I went to youtube to see how it was done.  Even the youtuber barely beat the damn thing.  I go back and I beat it, so now I'm good.  I did a google search and find out there are other people that think this game is hard.  Most of them wrote that it's real hard in the beginning and gets easier.  I guess I'll have to just soldier through the 1st disc.

Persona Q (3DS)

 photo Persona-Q-110-1280x720_zpsedcc9d4b.jpg

Surprisely, I'm not putting in as much time as I like into this one.  I play mainly at night.  It's a little different than the other Persona games.  I'm slowing getting use to it.  Everyone has a Persona and sub persona.  I don't like that my character doesn't have all the Personas.  I thought drawing the maps would be a pain, but it's kind of fun.  I'm currently on the 3rd floor.  I hadn't run into anything I couldn't handle.

Games Going to Buy:

I don't remember if I bought any games yet this year.  There are a couple games I plan to buy.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (3DS) - Honestly, I'm not a big fan of this game.  I have it on the N64 and GC.  The main reason I'm getting it is to keep up with my Zelda collection on the 3DS.  I plan to play it.  Hopefully, I'll enjoy it this time and play it to the end.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker (3DS) - Another remake or release.  I really enjoyed DS2.  Recently played through the released version of Devil Survivor 1 and enjoyed it too.  I'm pretty sure I'll have fun with this game.

The Witcher 3 (PS4) - I don't even own a PS4, but I'm getting this game.  Hopefully, I'll get a PS4 soon after I get this game.

That's me up to date.  Not much going on.  Just trying to finish one game at a time.  What are you guys playing?

The next Dragon Quest game you should play is Rocket Slime!

I don't have that one.  I was planning to do Dragon Quest V next.  I'll have to get Rocket Slime.

Rocket Slimie is my favorite DQ game.

I played Rocket Slime a while back and I couldn't understand it. I couldn't get anywhere with it. I'd like to give it another go sometime though. I looks really cool.

I actually got myself the remake of the first Devil Survivor. I haven't started it but perhaps next week i'll do it.

It's a good game.  It's one of my favorites on the DS.

I agree with James both it and the second Devil Survivor are very good. The 3DS remake of the first game is the definitive version hands down. I'm sure the 2nd one will be too.

I can't speak for the PS4 version, but the PC version of Inquisition was pretty bug free if that's any indication. My only issue was a stutter every now and then early on, but Bioware fixed that pretty quick.

My PC can't handle Dragon Age: Origins. Laughing  I decided to get the PS4 version because a friend of mine has the PS4 version and he didn't have the issues I had.  Plus, I also plan to get The Witcher 3 (PS4).

I stilll need to get overclocked as I really enjoyed it,  I haven't finished the second game yet but with the new  3ds coming /i suppose I'll have an excuse.

I don't remember the story for the 2nd game.  I tried watching the anime a week ago, hoping the story would come back to me, but I feel alseep after the first 3 episodes.  When I woke up it was over.  I hadn't tried watching it since.

I never really liked Majora's Mask either, but I'm kind of tempted to get it on 3DS. Then I think about the time limit. I don't want to feel rushed in a Zelda game. I got Link's Awakening on the 3DS VC for free thanks to Club Nintendo though. Laughing

I have the same issue.  I don't like to feel rushed.  I want to relax and take my time.  You use a mask to reverse time, but I don't really want to deal with that either. Laughing  I watched a couple reviews and the 3DS games have some stuff added to it to help manage your time and quests you want to complete.  It should be a better experience.

I have all the VC Zelda games on my 3DS.  I think I got Ages and Zelda II for free using the Nintendo Club.

What are you doing wrong in Lost Odyssey?! The Grilgan was the boss I had the hardest time with. With the Bogimoray, have Jansen spam Prism, make sure you have an aqua ring and the adamantis ring equipped on Kaim and Seth (use the Adamantis Ring for Kaim), and take out the bugs first. Also, make sure your immortals learn anti-paralysis by equipping the Yellow Band accessory and then hand it off to Jansen. And equip the Apprentice Earrings on Seth and have her spam flare for the bugs and aqua for the bogimoray.

I don't know what a adamantis ring is.  I hadn't seen that word. Laughing  The other stuff I realised after getting beaten 2 times or so.  I'm not use to relying on accessories.  I usually just experience up and save cash for better weapons and armor.  That makes sense to me.  Relying on bracelets, rings, necklaces, toe rings, etc., is too micromanaging for me.  I knew I was doing something wrong.  I guess I have more learning to do. Embarassed

Once you get the hang of using accessories and skill-linking to have your immortals learn skills, it'll make things a lot more fun. The number of points to learn a skill corresponds to the number of enemies you defeat, and it'll save you a lot of gold because you won't have to buy more than a couple of the same accessory. You know those seeds you keep finding? Find a pot with one of the little rabbity things in it and trade 20 seeds to it and it'll give you the Adamantis Ring.

I saw one of those rabbit things.  I gave him a couple heal items and when I stopped, he gave them all back.  I'll go back to him.

Give him enough healing items and he'll give you back a better one.

Bogimoray is a bitch for sure.  But after that most of the game is pretty good except for this weird funeral quicktime minigame you need to do.  that part sucks.

I'm about thirty hours into DA.  havent played it for a week, but might tonight.  needed a break after binging on it for a while.  Love it though.  I'm playing on PC, and I don't have many issues.

I'm hoping after bogimoray the game gets easier or I learn more about how to play it.

I read that DA:I is worse on the 360 and PS3.  I'll get the PS4 version next time.

I hope they changed some things about the time mechanic in majora's mask. That was my main issue when I played and beat the N64 original version.

02/08/2015 at 10:59 AM

I hoping I can stick to it and beat it.  The changes that were made on the 3DS version should help.

I want to get The Witcher 3 for PS4, but I also wish CD Projekt Red would release an "HD Remaster" of The Witcher 2 for PS4 so I can play through that as well. I tried to play Witcher 2 on my PC and man does it run very poorly. It runs so bad it's unplayable in my eyes. I played it for about an hour before I just closed it and haven't opened it since.

I have Dragon Age: Inquisiton for PS4 but I haven't got a chance to play it, trying to finish GTAV first.

I have The Witcher 2 on the 360.  It's great.  It was for sale on XBL for $5 a couple weeks ago.  I almost bought it again just to have it on my hard drive.  I would really like a console version of the 1st Witcher game.  I have the PC version, but my PC is ass when it comes to gaming.  I would really like to see all the Witcher games on one console.  PC is great, but I don't have the time to tinker with settings and stuff.  I just want to turn the game on and play.

If I ever finish Lost Odyssey, I may start GTA5, but I really would like to finish Sleeping Dogs first.

My wife is playing Dragon Age: Inquisition right now on the 360 and she is having all those problems with it being glitchy too. We just bought a PS4 online with part of our tax return (still waiting for it to arrive) but she plans to trade in the 360 version after she finishes it and get it on the PS4.

I am envious of your copies of DQIV and V. I only have VI and the other two tend to be kind of expensive now.

My wife finished DA:I a couple weeks ago.  She wants to play it again, but she's waiting til we get a PS4.  Getting a PS4 may happen this year, because we both want to play The Witcher 3.  The best way to play DA:I on the 360 is to have multiple saves and save every 30min or so. Laughing

I noticed the DQ DS games getting expensive a few years ago.  I searched them out and bought them for fear of the price getting too far out of reach.  I was lucky to pay roughly $30 for each of my copies.

I've finally accepted that I won't be buying anything on Xbox 360 that is also on current gen. This means, really, no more new Xbox 360 games. I'm thinking my next purchase will be a TV with an HDMI port since all the current systems come with HDMI cables.

Sounds good.  I don't know of any new 360 releases I want to get.  Hell, I don't know of any new 360 releases, period. Laughing

A new TV is good.  I was lucky enough over the holidays to get a 50in for $200.  Hold out for those sales.  I've noticed tvs are getting cheaper every month.  I would like to get another.

Just saw a 32" one on Dell's President's Day Sale for $279. Seems like a sweet price, but I think I'll buy from a brick and mortar store this time.

Sounds good.  The only time I avoid brick and mortar stores is during black friday.  Any other time, that's my place to shop.
