With the recent news of RWBY creator Monty Oum I’ve decided to put my “RWBY Tuesday” blogs on temporary hiatus. For those not in the know here is a brief recap. Ever since I learned of this new series created by Monty Oum, I was very excited to see it come to fruition. And as the series unfolded I found myself personally noting the positives and negatives of any given episode to the point where I actually wrote up a blog on the subject of the specific episodes. With this blogs happening to be written/posted on every Tuesday I found myself calling them “RWBY Tuesday” blog posts. I don’t really consider them “reviews” in a way but in the end that’s how “RWBY Tuesday” was born.

I tried my best to view these episodes of RWBY as a fan that just watches the show on its merits than trying to learn more about the series in general thru wikis or other viewer feedback. It was kind of one part synopsis, one part recap, and one part overview of the upside/downside/oddside in that episodes, ending with a build up for the following episode to come. I didn’t really intend for it to take a life of its own but I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts on the RWBY series from start to finish as a general fan of Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth Productions.

I’m not sure many read these postings but the few that did I hope gained something from it, if only to have the urge to check out the series itself.

The reason for this temporary hiatus wasn’t easy for me to come to decide but I feel this is the right decision given the circumstances. I actually intended on continuing the “RWBY Tuesday” postings this month, as a means to catch up in all that I neglected to post about with volume 2. In truth I actually have ALL the “RWBY Tuesday” blog posts prepped and ready to be uploaded. All that remains to be done is to gather screen shots of specific episodes and assign them to their proper blog write up.

Yet despite being one small step to continuing what I started, I feel the time is not right to do this. Though my “not reviews” are not harsh by any means, I do point out some of the negatives of any particular episode in RWBY Volume 2. And given the sadness fans of Monty Oum are feeling right now; this might not be a good time to voice complaints of his latest (and last) work. Though I wouldn’t exactly consider this “speaking ill of the deceased” it could be considered bad form to do such.

I also feel that continuing with “RWBY Tuesday” right now could be seen as a means to gain recognition or taking advantage of his passing to bring attention to my work. And that is something I could not abide by.

So for now I’m going to put a halt on any “RWBY Tuesday” blogs for the time being. I’m still trying to decide if these blog postings will see the light of day or if I should just forgo them and go straight to RWBY Tuesday blogs for Volume 3, when/if that time comes.

Despite this I would recommend people to at least give RWBY Volume 1 & 2 a try. They can be seen online either on Rooster Teeth’s website, on their Youtube channel or on Crunchyroll as episodic content. Or if you want to watch them as a full length movie you can now check them out on Netflix.

The story that RWBY tells may not be for everyone but at least give it a chance. You might be glad you did.
