BaD IV: An Old Pope

So today was exactly nothing like I had planned. I was so tired last night I didn't do anything but end up going to be at 10pm and woke up around 5AM ... then kept hitting alarms until about 9:20AM. I specifically turned my heat up a bit to encourage myself to get out of bed earlier, but it's still so damn cold in my apartment in the morning and I'm always extremely tired. Going to see if I can't try to reverse this schedule of mine again. Hopefully, I can get some reading done.

Oh and the meeting I was waking up to prepare for didn't happen. Some rescheduling there. And the guy didn't show up I'm training for my job once I graduate. And something unexpected with the university Internet happened, but that was uneventful really.

Then I came home. Talked to my friend about buying him a couple drinks this weekend for his birthday. My older brother asked me about religion courses I took in high school out of the blue (Catholic schooled from 1st to 12th grade ... didn't really take). Ate 4 chicken tenders from Kroger dipped in Cane's sauce (tastes exactly like their chicken without breading, so likely only buying the sauce from them now; unless the men's bball team wins w 60 points or more at home and it's half off). Had a protein shake with skim milk (blech). Got on facebook and messaged a friend. Wrote this blog.

And that was my day. Still need to read and do my cardio. Three hill sprints and some Couch to 5K nonsense. At least yesterday's weight lifting went surprisingly well. What are you up to?

sounds like a disappointing day.  my day was alright, I got some stuff done, but the best part was a nap I took.  Otherwise, pretty forgettable.

It was disappointing, but it ultimately gives me the weekend to refine some stuff for the meeting and I got to e-mail my thesis committee about meeting in the near future.

I shoveled. A lot. And then I shoveled some more. And went out for a cheese steak with Jason during his lunch break. And the temperature here is currently 8 degrees here and falling rapidly, so no whining about the cold in Texas or I will mail you an envelope full of glitter.

It's not that bothersome when I'm awake and have stuff on, it's just when I'm waking up. My office and the building I work in are generally very cold because of the equipment for radio and TV needing to be cooled down, but it's fine with just my thin hoodie.

Cheesesteak sounds good.

And now it's 2 degrees.

I've been to Wisconsin in similar weather as a kid, but not for a good long while now.

I tried to do project work today but I ended up fixing people's problems all day instead. I should probably be working now but I can't be arsed. Debating whether to take the day off tomorrow but likely won't.

What's the project?

It's AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) as it applies to The School Boards Websites.

Essentially it involves creating policies and procedures to ensure that people with say visual impairment can still use our sites with assistive technology. It's the law here in Ontario and we have so many people creating web sites here we are lousy with spelling mistakes, broken and incorrectly formed hyperlinks and all sorts of other non-compliant crap.

I bought a tool to find some of it but we still have to do a lot manually like looking for links that go to the wrong place and improper use of grammar. You would think that teachers know how to write but you'd be wrong.

I've seen those visual aids for computer screens. I had a mostly blind resident in one of my buildings as an undergrad.

In my mind the stuff we're doing extends beyond having to do it for compliance.

I get so frustrated when I click on a link and it goes nowhere or to outdated or wrong page. Trying to read a document that isn't written in proper English, full of spelling mistakes, grammar errors and half finished sentences drives me nuts.

You know I really don't care about that stuff when I'm writing casually but this is supposed to be a professional site. How do you hand parents a document to sign that was written by someone who doesn't know the difference between there, their and they're? these people went to University for chrissakes.

Anyway I should stop ranting and start writing. :)

Yeah, there's a huge difference between my blog writing and when I write a discussion post for one of my classes.

What is Cane's sauce?  I don't think I've ever seen it or had it.

From Raising Cane's Chicken, which I think is mostly a southern chain.

I wish. Just got done reading one of my chapters for Media History after falling asleep at around 5PM.

Today I overslept and had to hurry up to collegue without taking a bath or breakfast in the condo. I did arrive to collegue on time, so I decided to buy cut pineapple from a vendor for breakfast. Rest of the day went smoothly without a hitch and I only have two classes on Tuedays and Thursdays, so I has spent the middle of the day on the library fixing a text and just entertaining myself on the net with my laptop. Came home at four, finished reading texts for a class of tomorrow, had dinner and the rest of the past and following time was spent on the internet and doing my BaD blog.

Undergrad. Those were the days. I loved being a college Freshman. All I did was work out, relax and ocassionally study.

I hope you have a better day tomorrow. I totally know your pain when things aren't going as planned. Just try to relax and work toward a better tomorrow.

It wasn't that bad, I just really want to be done with my Master's.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing well with your workouts.  I promise you, I cheer on and pray for all my online friends and their fitness goals, including YOU!

I've been doing well with my workouts lately, too, thanks to the shakes I've been drinking over the past few months.  In fact, a good friend of mine said recently that she though I looked a lot different and had leaned out and built a lot of upper body muscle.  I'm definitely getting stronger.  Pretty soon I could almost call myself Super Cary.

And I apologize if I'm bragging too much.

Thanks for the support! Cheering you on as well.

Are you still doing HerbaLife or ... I forget which supplement? I'm still drinking nasty protein shakes.

And nah, gotta brag when you build. Or something. lol

I've been drinking Shakeology for three months and last month I started mixing whey protein in it and it has helped me bulk up a bit.

I want to play video games while I work out. Don't they have those treadmills with some kind of environment you run through on a screen? I need this linked up to Xbox so I can get some chievos, or Nintendo so I can get coins for Mii Plaza. Heck, plug in a Oculus Rift or HoloLens so I can do calithenics and pretend I'm fending off hoards of Roman Centurions or something cool like that.
