Well, I woke up at 10:35AM on a weekend, so we're heading in the right direction. I'd like to do my workouts first thing in the morning at around 6AM after a protein shake. That way I'll get the exercise and nasty-ass drink part of my day done with early and it'll be downhill from there.

Today I did my Couch to 5K and hill sprints and am about to work on writing my editorial for the paper, my two articles for plus10damage and maybe do some laundry/start planning for my postponed thesis meeting tomorrow. Oh and a friend and I should be eating some buy 1 get 1 free Raising Cane's chicken later because yesterday, this happened:

Whenever SFA Men's basketball wins at home, there's Taco Tuesday 99c tacos at Zoca on campus and whenever they score 60 points at home, Raising Cane's does buy 1 get 1 free.

Basically, pretty much anytime they play a game at home, we get those deals. Oh and Coach Brad Underwood is currently #6 in ESPN's Coaches Infiniti Challenge. Feel free to vote for him and get my university more exposure! I think we have a chance at being in the NCAA tourney again this year (we beat VCU in the first round last year), but every bit of publicity helps:

http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/infiniti/2015/index?next=submit&confirmed=true&skipped=true&medium=desktop&coachId=5453f008ccddb00200fc3ce5

He's not mad, he just wants tacos.

After the game last night (when I left it was 84-40), I caught some friends at the local bar and learned apparently ordering pasta is girly. Who knew? Salad I get, but never saw pasta that way. Whatever, I'll eat whatever the hell I'm hungry for. Also ran into some guys I hadn't seen since I played rugby in high school after learning the country concert place, Banita Creek Hall was sold out for a band called Turnpike Troubadors. Actually glad that didn't work out since cover was $20. Only thought about it cause it was my friend's birthday. He can live with the pint I got him. Tongue Out Hell, he got a photography job that night out of the blue and I bet it was the party my old rugby friends were having.

What are you up to? I'll game eventually, but during BaD I often tend to be getting my real life in order. Then once I do, I do my own personal thing called GLaD, where I log some gameplay every day in March.

Oh yeah, and here are some articles I wrote for plus10damage last week:

is that the international "I want Tacos!" sign he's making with his hands?

He's telling the chefs to grate the cheese.

I like to wake up early to lift weights and drink my super shake, too.

I'm hopeing once I get moved into the apartment that my exercise program will be more everyday. Their isn't much room at my current place and I don't do cold weather. Outside exercise I normally do during summer evenings. There is a small gym at the apartment too so yay for no gym membership! There is also a pool so summer should be fun. I mostly played Fantasy life and then laid down for work. Can't wait for tomorrow since I'll be with my kitten babies!

Built-in gym is always a plus. I take advantage of hotels when they have pools, gyms and free breakfast. Because I'm paying for all those free things.

There's a problem with the formating here, as your link to the poll is so long it moved the text outside the boundary.

I can't think of anything useful to comment on your two articles, so i'll say they were pretty nice, the first on the label subject and the second just for the off-tangeants.

Well damn. It'll just be replaced tomorrow though. And maybe by then I'll have a Segway.

i started the morning shake thing a few weeks ago. Now to do something physical afterwards.

... You should probably not take those shakes if you don't do anything physical, at that point you're just adding unnecessary calories. Don't end up like Cartman. lol

Well, they are really just smoothies that I have instead of breakfast. Some of the recipies I've used do call for Whey protein, but they're not exactly work out drinks. I just like something quick in the morning so I can get out there and do things. I'm real close to signing up at the YMCA in my area.

Ah. Well that's awesome! I need to start having breakfast, only ever seem to eat at night

It was suggested to me from mysterious sources that breakfast was important. Why? I don't know, but it seems correct. I try and force myself to it so I don't go crazy and binge later on. Also, there's something in the air about regular meal times connected to a stable metabolism. I don't know any details, it's just something that drifted by in my reading.

Actually, the importance of breakfast and meal times is overemphasized quite a bit. I have in fact lost a ton of weight eating mostly at night and rarely eating breakfast.

Breakfast won't really keep you from eating a lot later on either, at least it doesn't have that effect on me. In fact, my trainer friend who is currently getting his Kinesiology doctorate at Auburn advised I eat dinner should I only have one meal a day. Cornell doctors seem to agree to some extent about breakfast's over-inflated importance: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/09/10/myths-surround-breakfast-and-weight/?_r=0

"

In the meantime, a small number of randomized trials has continued to cast doubt on the protective effect of breakfast. At Cornell University, for example, scientists have showed in experiments that in some cases, but not all, depriving people of breakfast can lead them to eat more calories at lunch. But those extra calories do not make up for the calories they missed at breakfast, so at the end of the day, they still end up eating fewer calories over all.

The Cornell researchers have argued that for some adults, skipping breakfast may actually be a good way to reduce weight – not gain it."

And whatever you do, don't eat a low calorie, low carb "healthy" breakfast cause you'll just get hungry again (#3) and to hell with mini-meals, I'll stick to my night dinners (#2): http://www.cracked.com/article_20217_5-well-known-tips-healthy-eating-that-dont-work.html

Now I have limited calories and carns and got a certain amount of protein for my dieting habits, but a lot of stuff just isn't worth fretting over. I lost 71 pounds in a year having rarely ever eaten breakfast and I certainly wasn't eating more than three times a day most of the time.

I boosted my protein last week, and it's helped some of my neck and eye fatigue problems. I think that might have been it.

I drink my shake as breakfast if I get up early enough. It's really part of my attempt to make my own meals and not eat out plan.

I guess I'll just wing it as to meal planning I guess. All these old ideas seem to be false.

Not entirely false, just put up on a pedestal they don't necessarily deserve. Now the old U.S. Food Pyramid, that's a bunch of lobbyist crap. Laughing

One true thing is you lose weight by burning more calories than you put in.

Mini-meals are just fine and probably helpful, just not helpful enough that I worry about them.

I need to wake up earlier and get a protein shake as my breakfast. Non-FDA regulated goodness that tastes like crap. Mmmmmm!

Yeah, wake up early. That's my daily failure.
