Shovel Knight?

I could not fall back asleep this morning and so I went web surfing.  I stumbled upon shovel knight, not with stumbleupon though.  This is precisely the kind of game that I want.  A classic 8-bit style game made by people who seem to know those types of games best...

Apparently a group from wayforward started their own company, yacht club games.  They are making a game called shovel knight that mixes mega man, castlevania and dark souls.  Wayforward has been behind some of my favourite games of late.  Shantae, Aliens: Infestation, BloodRayne: Betrayal.  So, finding out that a group of people who made these games is making an 8-bit homage has me excited, but that does not mean that it will recieve the funding that yacht club needs to make it.

I have contributed to 6 different kickstarters by this point.  Almost all of them were rpgs.  If I had my way, I would take all of the money that I gave to the other projects and put them into shovel knight.  That is how awesome I believe that this game will be.

Wow, this looks fantastic, I'm going to have to throw some money at this. Thanks for the heads up!

Totally backed this.  I'm kind of a Kickstarter whore at this point.

Wow, looks like "Duck Tales" mixed with Wizards & warriors as well as Zelda 2: Adventures of Link! Hoping they meet their goal.

Totally saw the Duck Tails influence. Made me even more excited.

I wish that I had $75,000 in singles.  I would literally throw the bills at them.

How does this work? I don't see any option to choose the Wii U digital copy.

Basically you just need to pledge $15 and at the time of release they will ping all backers about what version they want a code for.

17 days to go, and less than 17K needed... I'm not seeing it happen. It needs more media exposure.

That is what I am worried about.  Thankfully, it is doing way better than dreadline aaas doing at the same point.  Also, how would we  fix that problem?

I don't know. Most media outlets have covered it (Kotaku hasn't I think), maybe Yacht Club Games should come out and say "Want a DuckTales game that isn't a DuckTales game? Shovel Knight to the rescuuuuuuuuuue".

they did get almost $5000 in the past 36 or so hours.  That helps.

Yeah I noticed. It must have been from their presence at PAX East.
