I'm just curious, do you work from home just doing design work or you have an office?

Well hello Pixlbit and hello to week two of Blog A Day. I hope you all are doing well on this warm Monday morning. Sorry East Coast but it is going to be a warm 80 degrees here in Sunny Southern California and unlike yesterday, I am not going to mistakenly wear a lot of warm clothes on a warm day (throw in a trip to a busy Costco and it was starting to look like I just came form the gym). I wish I could tell you good folks that I took another game off of Mount Backlog but the majority of the weekend was spent trying to catch up with the normal viewing audience of Arrow. I am now officially caught up with this season and seriously it has been one crazy emotional roller coaster. You know it’s a good show when you want to slap some sense into one of the characters because the one positive thing is starring them in the face and they refuse to acknowledge it. Anyways that is better saved for Friday, because today is all about what games I’ve been playing…or trying to play…or just maybe things I wanted to play.
Adventures in GameStop
Yesterday before my trip to Costco, I visited a GS in another town and to my surprise the employees remembered me. It was kind of odd especially since the last time I paid a visit might have been a month ago, and I didn’t talk to anyone. I keep my headphones on so I don’t get fanboy employee telling me why the PS4/X-Box is better than the other. This also happened at what I call my homestore where the employees were talking while a couple of costumers including myself were browsing in the store and they were talking about loyal customers and pointing out people. I got pointed out (the headphones weren't playing any music, but I keep them on just so people won't talk to me). It's nice to see that some stores pay attention to who shops there. I visit the store maybe every other week so it was nice to see employees pay attention to their customers.
Actual Gaming
Lego Batman 3 - PS3
So after my binge watching of 2 and a half seasons of Arrow I did go back and play through the Arrow DLC and it makes sense to me. I know the characters, the environment, and the icon for the DLC all make sense. I also finally got the Super Dog trophy on the Man of Steel DLC, and I am currently waiting for the next two installments on the Season Pass. There was also a free Rainbow Batman minifigure available which I downloaded but probably won’t use, kind of like the Batman Begins minifigure that I bought and haven’t used.
NBA 2K14 – PS4
So my “Super” Knicks squad was hit with the injury bug, especially at the Shooting guard when JR Smith, and Tim Hardaway Jr. were both out as well as reserve Point Guard Pablo Prigioni so after the starting lineup there wasn’t much scoring punch. My transition “Runnin’ Knicks” offense became a grind it out, our free throws still suck game. It all came down to Steph Curry and Paul George carrying the load, and coming up big in every overtime game.
NFS Rivals: Complete Edition – PS4
I took down a couple of goals within the game to unlock some cars, but one game in particular I ran into some kid who thought it was funny to crash your car when you are being chased by the cops. He did it to me twice and I figured it was some little kid (or AHole adult) who was trying to troll me in a video game. I got what I needed, quit the game and went back a little bit later. I’m trying my hardest not to take part in the cop storyline, but it doesn’t really interest me, but I do wish this was a more conventional game instead of an always online game.
Battlefield 4 – PS4
I am stuck in a level that is insanely frustrating. I don’t think I’m giving any spoilers away especially since the majority of people play this game for the multiplayer. The goal of the team is to make it across this war torn group of houses, being patrolled by a tank, and get into a public park to access the next portion of the map. I’ve tried different strategies like go through the houses and use them as cover, run on the far right side of the map and enter through the main gate, and speed run through the park. The one thing that gets me is that I used the terrain in the park against the AI by being close to the far wall and behind a mound that the two gunners are on. Well the AI countered by non-stop firing by the two gunners into the ground, and they won’t die when I lob grenades at them. When I play a more conventional way the enemy tank parks next to us in the park and unleashes its cannon. Oh the frustration is real. I’m ready to banish this game and mark it as Null on my backloggery because I don’t want to put up with this headache.
Asphalt 2 – DS
This has become my waiting room game because the game is so sort. Three races and you complete a section of a level. One thing that bothers me about this game is that the description about what car you need is so vague and in the car shop it doesn’t tell you what a given car is perfect for (or at least one I couldn’t see). I checked online and it appears that some posters think this is common knowledge stuff (these posts were from a couple of years ago) so I’m assuming all this information is available in the game cases that were probably tossed by GameStop.
Simpsons Tapped Out – iOS
There isn’t much going on but I did see this after the Super Bowl and I wanted to share
Apparently the Stonecutters were behind the Seahawks decision to pass the ball instead of running it.
One More Thing…
While checking out what’s going on here on Pixlbit from the iPad I noticed that the ads are focused to my browsing (on the laptop I have an Ad-Block running, but none on the iPad). Considering I only visit sports message boards and Pixlbit as my regular webpages on my iPad I thought this was appropriate.
Alright Pixlbit I am off to do actual work (I stopped for a bit, but I am back), and stay warm East Coast!
That’s all for now, more tomorrow!
-Chris
