I may look into the Evil Within when I can find it at a decent price.
I'm playing Person Q and Suikoden II mostly with bits of RE Remaster here and there.

What Game(s) are you playing at the moment?
I'm playing a few things at the moment. Mainly Halo Reach though. I just finished the space section. That space shooting section was awesome. It dragged on a bit too long and they could have done more with it, but it was still a heck of a lot of fun. So far the game is paced really well, and the story doesn't have the problem of making no sense.
I'm also playing Bayonetta again for shits and giggles, and the Evil Within, which despite what critics say is fucking awesome and I seriously don't understand half of the complaints with that game. It's what resident evil 5 should have been in my opinion.
Finally, I just got Darkest Dungeon. Reminds me of the first Diablo for some reason. More in tone and atmosphere than anyone else. Also, did Diablo used to be a hard game series or did I just suck at gaming back then? I'm sure they weren't super cakewalks like Diablo 3 is.
So yeah... whatcha playing?
I’ve spent most of my current gaming time with Danganronpa on the Vita. I guess I’m also currently playing Persona Q, although I’ve put it aside for the past couple weeks. Not sure what to start next on my consoles I tried playing both Protoype 2 and Thief on the PS3 the other day since they became free on PSN, but I wasn't digging either one and don’t think I’m going to put any more time into them.
I really enjoyed The Evil Within also. I played through it on the PS4 a month or so ago. I had a lot of fun with it and think it deserves more praise than it got.
I'm having a great time with it, but it's probably not for everyone. I'd describe it as a mix between the Phoenix Wright games and the 999/Virtue's Last Reward games with a little Persona thrown in, but with it's own unique spin on things. It's story-heavy, with murder mysteries and courtroom trials.
I've been playing A LOT of Elite: Dangerous, and I'm finally making a lot of money doing missions now. Thank god!
I am also playing Dragon Age: Inquisition, which I played a little of the other night, Final Fantasy X, and The Banner Saga, which I'm hoping to finish soon and finally write a review of.
I get like that once every 3 months... Sometimes it's Demon's Souls.
Also, I finished Halo Reach and loved the fuck out of the ending. And the space battle was great. And... well, it's just a damn well put together game. Paced really well. Which should I play next? I bought all of them (except halo 2 because it's not on xbox 360.) I have finished Halo already, but I might finish the anniversary version again.
Not sure about that. The connection to Dark Souls is with the boss fights and required mastery of combat skills, armor crafting, coop and the steep learning curve. The game doesn't show you hot to play it, you have to invest a lot of time learning all the nuances, so that's where the connection to Souls comes in, basically if you are looking to challenge yourself. I played on PSP in the past and have the WiiU version. It's a lot to take in.
Diablo 3 felt dumbed down a LOT. Or maybe streamlined is a better way to put it. The earlier games were much harder. I clearly remember having my whole inventory filled with potions on the later levels of the dungeon and it being nowhere near enough. We would have to throw our gold on the ground in town just to make room lol.
I'm mostly playing GTA San Andreas at the moment and loving it.
I can see that. Diablo III seems more made for the masses. Kind of like the difference between Fable II and III. Fable II was more of a real RPG and III was more of a simple action game. I guess that's what happens when you go for the broadest possible audience for you game. Everything is watered down and simplified.
I have to agree with Blake. It's not the difficulty that bothers me. The atmosphere is not nearly as dark and oppressive as the earlier games. You can't even assign stat points or skill points. There is no skill tree. Forget about trying to build a customized character. These are basic things that have been in Diablo games since the beginning. Plus they killed off Deckard Cain. He was the only character that mattered. And don't forget about the Auction House bullshit with the initial PC release.
No offense man. It was just disappointing for me.
Not so great, as it turns out. The game has a weird leveling system where things go up as you use them, and your HP goes up as you take damage. You can literally go into battle and have your characters hit each other and their max HP will increase. So it's not a very hard game, though it has been enjoyable to play through. FFI is a classic that deserves its many rereleases but FFII is more of a historical curiosity. I'd only recommend it if you want to play through all the titles in the main series (like me).
Played Diablo 3 of course on the weekends and collecting Miis for Mii Plaza games during the week. I'm also trying to play Grim Fandango on Vita, but I'm stuck and feel like I'm ruining the experience by having to look up a walkthrough, so I'm not playing it. And I just got a street pass for Fantasy Life, so i'll have to go in there and see if someone has given me a gift.
