Kirby Kirby Kirby, that's a name you should know, Kirby Kirby Kirby, he's the star of the show...

Kirby is probably Nintendo and SSB's most versatile character, perhaps in all of gaming. Kirby might look like some unasuming pink ball, but he is a power house. Despite being small in stature, he's perfectly able to handle himself in any fight, with any enemy, no matter the size or strenght. That and he can copy his opponents powers and use them against his foes. Kirby's trademark copy ability carries over to SSB and he can even copy other fighters abilities too. He doesn't copy all the moves of a fighter, only their b-move but it's better than nothing. Kirby even get's a hat from that ability which is neat.

So today I'll focus on my favorite Kirby abilities from SSB:

Lucina Kirby

I could of used Marth's copy ability, but I put Lucina bcause instead of getting hair, Kirby get's Lucina's mask, which is a nice touch. The ability Kirby get's from Lucina is the same as Marth's, charge it up all the way and you break your opponents shield. Pretty useful.

Mr. Game and Watch KirbyR.O.B. Kirby

Couldn't decide between these two so I just grouped them here. Mr. Game and Watch Kirby uses the frying pan that Mr. G&W uses which isn't special, but you could spam it to the point of annoying someone. Plus Kirby didn't get a hat, but rather, he looks like something out of a calculator or Mr. G&W himself which is neat. As for R.O.B. Kirby, it reminded me of Laser Kirby. You can't fire the laser continuously like Fox, but you can shoot a laser at full power when the LED on the top of the visor flashes. It even bounces off inclines, like in a Kirby game.

Fox Kirby

Fox isn't the strongest character in the game but he has a pretty balanced moveset, as alot of his stand a and b moves cover pretty much any threat. What Kirby get's from Fox is his trusty blaster. You can shoot it continuously, it doesn't make opponents flinch, but you can score some cheap shots from a distance.

 Pac-man KirbyMega Man KirbySonic Kirby

Couldn't decide between these 3 abilities, so I grouped them here. Pac-man Kirby get's the same thing Pac-man has for his standard b move, which is throwing fruit, or things from other Namco games. It was also nice that Kirby can switch between items with it, giving him a long distance move too. Mega Man Kirby, well he throws a gear which isn't that special. But Kirby lacks a good projectile move so this is actually more useful to him than Mega Man. As for Sonic Kirby, he get's a homing attack like in the 3D Sonic games. It's useful for when your opponent wont let you attack them. It's also pretty useful in Sudden Death.

 Samus Kirby

This ability is probably more useful than most of the projectile abilities Kirby get's from other fighters. As Samus Kirby, he get's a sweet visor and he can charge up a beam attack like Samus. You can also shoot uncharged blasts, but it's more useful if you charge it all the way. Plus you can catch an opponent off guard with it and send them flying.

 Captain Falcon Kirby

As Captain Falcon Kirby, Kirby get's Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch. Nuff said.

 Pit KirbyToon Link KirbyPalutena Kirby

I grouped these all here because they are so similar. Pit Kirby looks like Cupid Kirby from Amazing Mirror. You can fire arrows from the bow and even change their direction like Pit does. Toon Link Kirby looks like Sword Kirby. You can fire arrows from the bow and you can charge them up for farther travel and more damage. As Palutena Kirby, Kirby can use the homing projectile move Palutena has. It's useful as it's probably the only projectile move in the game that can home on enemies.

Mario Kirby

One of the more basic abilities and only because I like Mario so much. As Mario Kirby, he can shoot fireballs from his hands like Mario. Pretty basic but nothing wrong with that.

Shulk Kirby

I think this might be the most versatile of all the abilities Kirby get's in the game. As I've said before, Shulk's stats change depending on the Monado arts you use. When Kirby get's a copy a bility from Shulk, Kirby get's access to Monado arts as well. And just like Shulk, Kirby's stats change depending on which art is used. It's very useful and it was a nice touch too. Kirby doesn't get a hat, but he get's a mini-Monado. He can't use it to fight, but it looks neat. Kirby even says the name of the arts he's going to use in japanese, which is another nice attention to detail.

So those are my favorites so far, I left some out because this post is already long as it is. Which ones are your favorites? Thanks for reading and later.

damn dude, these screen shots are awesome.  I never saw all of his transformations up close before.  I need to get that game.

I'm also thinking of getting the new Kirby clay game.  I've never really played a Kirby game and people always recommend them.  And this one is only $40.  I dunno, we'll see.

Thanks man, I try to put effort in my posts when I have enough time to do so. As for the screens, I could just use some on the net but would rather use my own. Kirby has alot of transformations in his games, you'd be surprise at how many.

On Klay Kirby (I'm calling it that), it's a sequel to Canvas Curse, one of the best the DS has to offer, so for 40 it's well worth the price. I'd recommend Returns to Dream Land if you've never played a Kirby game. And probably Epic Yarn only for the music and visuals.

I forget, does Kirby say Falcon Punch when he uses it? Cause then it's my favorite.

I don't really have any favorite Kirby transformations in Smash, but right after I post this comment, I'm going to put up a Kirby related blog that you can read if you like!

Interesting how we both posted Kirby blogs! And I read it before this comment!
