Totally not a BaD Blog.

As many of you know I'm the kind of person who likes to figure things out and today was no exception.

The Vita and the PS TV allow you to copy PS1, PSP and Vita games and saves to PS3 and back again. I guess it works on PS4 to but I have no experience.

Well today I was thinking, what if my PS3 borks on me again. How will I get my Vita files back other than download them again.

Then I noticed that they had a choice under content management for PC So I checked it out.

If you go to the link below. You can use your much more reliable PC to copy your games back and forth.

I have 650 GB free on my USB 3.0 Harddrive so now I can keep all my Vita content on there and not have to download from PSN every time I want to change content.

Check it out. If you have any problems with it I can help but it's pretty easy.

I hate downloading stuff on psn.  their network is atrocious.  I guess it's good they put these sort of hidden features in there.

I actually haven't had a problem with it, but maybe PSN+ on PS4 improved upon PSN on PS3?

I think it's the PS3.  I havent had a lot of problems on the Vita, actually.  But my PS3 takes forever and is always disconnecting, even more than my usual internet disconnects.  I've heard other people complain about it too.

I didn't know this.  Thanks for the info.

That's how Peer Schneider at IGN was saying to do it for 3DS. You copy the games to a PC, then transfer the licenses to the new system, then copy the games from the PC. It's much faster that way.

Yes, any method that allows you to circumvent the lousy network speed of the 3DS has got to be faster.

What I'm really thinking of with the Vita Content Manager is

A. not having to delete a game and then download it again from PSN. I only have an 8 GB card for my PS TV but this will allow me to copy a game to PC and delete it to make room for another game. Then if I want to play that game again I can copy it from my PC.

B. I can keep a backup of my games in case something catastrophic happens to the PS TV.

The downside is that you cannot copy a Vita game directly to PC and then transfer it as you can with PS3.
