GLaD: Game Log a Day

I think I might see about just recording my gameplay on Twitch and posting it here every week day this month. We shall see.

I beat the Dia de los Muertos world in Rayman Legends and loved it, but I will say, I don't like levels involving that damn frog. I feel like there's too much going on in those and it slows down the game too much. I did love the next world's take on stealth. No real waiting, just dodging lights and sneaking on enemies quick-like. I'm digging The Last of Us, but I do grow impatient with stealth sections after a while. I grew up on platformers and just prefer quick action in my video games most of the time. TLoU does have great tense moments though.

Also beat Guilty Gear Xrd Arcade mode again, this time with Ky Kiske. Basically the same story as Sol Badguy's. I watched chapter 1 of Story mode too. Really don't see why they say playing Arcade first is necessary. Oh well.

I watched John Wick just now at my friend's. Now that would make a great action game. Barely any story except revenge. Well shot and whatnot. It is annoying how movies have way different audio levels scene to scene though. Not realistic at all I wouldn't say, but that's part of the fun.

I actually got a lot done this weekend, revising my thesis survey, reading my chapters for Media History and posting my discussions, cleaning my car and apartment a bit, writing the newspaper editorial and my two plus10damage articles, opening the radio station, getting my exercise in and following the diet etc. Feels good to be productive.

Well, that's it for me right now.

John Wick was pretty decent, did you watch Birdman with Michael Keaton. I really liked how the movie was almost one seemless shot.

I almost traded Rayman Legends for my 3DS, but I decided on The Last of Us because the likelyhood of me playing that game is pretty much nil.

Yeah, you don't like violence and you do shoot humans in that game, albeit asshole-ish ones (presumably, still haven't beaten it).

Even if I also grew up with the fast action of plataformers, i'm growing a liking for stealth and games where you take your time. I consider myself calm, so it fits very well with me.

I'm a calm person, just like jumping right into a game.

I thought those frog levels were a little "busy" too. I don't think there are too many of them though. I hope to see John Wick sometime. I like Keanu Reeves. Well, I liked him in the Matrix movies at least.

He's good in this. Granted, he doesn't have to act too much, but he's a good action hero.

I can't really make fun of the guy after knowing the shit he's dealt with in real life and his charity. Me and my friend were talking about how the tragedies in the movie that inspire the revenge plot in John Wick weren't entirely out-of-the-ordinary for his real self.

Damn. That's really sad. It sounds like he has suffered a lot. I always liked Keanu Reeves. He may not be the best actor, but he has this charisma or something that makes him really likeable. In my worthless opinion at least.

That should be interesting to see gameplay video on Twitch. Everytime I check out Twitch/PS4 streaming I always seem to gravitate toward the folks who sit and turn it into a cam chat. Some interesting/odd/weird/funny folks on there.

The audio level thing bothers me when it comes to any media. Podcasts seem to be notorious for this, where the intro is super loud, or whisper quiet in comparassion to the actual show. I'll check out John Wick whenever it hits Netflix, or HBO. That seems to be my only way to watch flicks now.

I still like the experience of a movie theater. If they go because people only stream movies now, I will be a sad panda.

And yeah, I'm wondering how Twitch will go, since I don't have a mic aside from the one that came with the PS4 and know about zero people who would join in a chat with me. Maybe I'll get some funny comments about how much I suck at games and post them.

From what I've seen the folks there seem to be pretty chill and I wouldn't worry about the audio quality. Some folks yell into the PS4 camera which is a little annoying at times.

Yeah there's something about getting a hot bag of popcorn and sitting through previews. If I wasn't so lazy I'd drive to the neighboring town who has a nicer theater than our local one
