GLaD: Waiting is Tormentum

My review is still being edited, so I'll post the link later. In the meantime, the survey for my thesis is live and the link is here if you want to take it: http://sfasu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6L3FeoQOHlxD3pP

I can't force you to, so don't sweat if you don't want to, but it would really help me out. I need about 200 or so of these bad boys filled out by month's end. I'm hoping to convince a professor with a large lecture hall class to let me present this to the class, which may be difficult with spring break and mid-terms coming up. Luckily, my friend teaches some mid-sized classes he'll let me into and I can always contact the professors on my committee.

I ran 4 miles today in about 38 minutes, give or take. My 5k time is 28 minutes and I think it might even be 26 if I hadn't winded myself a bit by running up a hill that time. We're doing 6 miles on Saturday bright and early. I like exercising because it takes my mind off things and there's not that much critical thinking involved. It's pure doing.

Anyway, while I'm waiting for my review of it to be published, I might try and get the good ending in Tormentum. I bet I can glide through the game pretty easily.

What are you playing, watching or getting up to?

Okay, I did the survey. It was quite interesting I have to say.

I'm hoping for some interesting results. We'll see what I can actually glean from it if anything.

4 miles in 38 minutes?! I couldn't run one without feeling like I was gonna die lol.

LOL. That's how I was just a couple years ago. Had to start dieting and lost some weight. I eat a lot of the same shit now, just put a limit on calories and carbs and try to hit a protein mark. Weight lifting helps burn the stuff off too.

I did the survey. Interesting that you seem to be fishing for bigotry in the one section. :)

LOL. If I were to take the survey, as an atheist myself I'd put that atheists are moderately arrogant. I know a few personally, but I get that vibe from a lot of them in the media. Just a general feeling thing.

So I guess I'm part atheist Uncle Tom? haha

I don't belong to any organized religion but I'm not sure if I'm an atheist. I believe that the closest thing to God we have is the planet we live on. It sustains us and to some extent decides whether we live or die. As for Heaven and Hell, that is something we create right here and can be witnessed by watching the news or indeed just getting out of bed and going about our daily routine

At best religion provides us with rules to live by. "Don't screw around, y'all screw around too much!" and at worst it kills.

In my current position I work with Catholics everyday, kind of unavoidable at a Catholic School Board. they aren't one thing or the other. they just are. As am I.

I drink, therefore I am.

I grew up Catholic. I too drink. I too am. As we all are. Space: the final frontier.

I've always thought of walruses as untrustworthy.

Now you got me going.

The monkeys stand for honesty,
Giraffes are insincere,
And the elephants are kindly but
They're dumb.
Orangutans are skeptical
Of changes in their cages,
And the zookeeper is very fond of rum.

Zebras are reactionaries,
Antelopes are missionaries,
Pigeons plot in secrecy,
And hamsters turn on frequently.
What a gas! You gotta come and see
At the zoo.

Apparently there is a Zoo Brew event somewhere near me, where you can drink and look at animals. Sounds like any bar really, but I do like the fluffy kind of animals. And their sharp teeth and proximity to drunkards.

Sounds like my kind of event.
