GLaD 16: Videomation + Screw You, I'm Irish Saturday

Originally, I had planned today to be Ska/Punk Saturday, with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater as the GLaD game, because the two go hand in hand.  I planned this not considering St. Paddy's Day Weekend. So instead, I'm posting more Irish themed stuff today, before we celebrate an Italian on the actual St. Paddy's Day for tomorrow's Sabbath Sunday (I think metal fans can guess who), tomorrow. I wil still work Irish stuff in there, somehow, don't you worry. THPS and Ska/Punk Saturday will be next week's entry.  And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Bing Image Mad Libz:  Jodi Arias files suit against every single player in the World Baseball Classic 2013, as well as the Mount Rinjani, claiming both of them violated her; not that the WBC players violated her in Mount Rinjani, just that she was violated by both baseball players and a mountain. The courtroom sketches are drawn using Videomation for the NES, and somehow contain more inappropriate phallus drawings than the actual courtroom. The sketch artist is fired.

Videomation is a game I remember seeing the box art for, but never really playing. My older brother had it. According to Bing Images, it pretty much looks like MS Paint in cartridge form.

The difference being you need to use an NES controlle, and can turn your stuff into videos, apparently.

And now that I see it in action, I remember there being a more advanced version of something like this for the computers my mom taught with. I'll let you know what that's called if she remembers, too.

That is all I have to say about Videomation. Now, time for

Screw You, I'm Irish Saturday!

May the makers of that sign rot in hell!

Despite my obsession with the number three, four leafed clovers are the lucky ones, and in fact, according to Wikipedia (this information is actually cited, so don't chew my head off for using a Wiki page), the fourth leaf on a clover is the one for luck, in addition to faith, hope, and love.So today, you get four songs.

The first is one I found just by typing "Irish Music" in a Youtube search. And my God, does it have a great beat. I'm glad I found it, and will have to look for more of this band's work.

Since I don't know much of the band, here's the video description from Youtube:

"Belgrade's most popular Irish & Celtic music band playing an Irish traditional, arranged by Ana Djokic (the violin player in the video). They are very popular in Serbia and neighbouring states, mainly for their vibrant live shows. A music video from 1997, directed by Darko Debelic http://www.darkodebelic.com"

Since it was originally supposed to be Ska/Punk Saturday, I'd be remiss if I didn't leave you some good ol' Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys!

Finally, I must leave you with a song I found through the hilarious film, a favorite in my family, Waking Ned Divine. I was talking about it over on Rangergirl's Folk Music Friday blogs. She posted two amazing blogs full of Irish music, you should definitely check it out, if you like Irish music.

I don't think this is the full song, but it comes in on my favorite part, so here it is. Happy St. Paddy's Day weekend!

I was too tipsy to listen all the way through, I will be sure to play it all the way through when my buzz is gone (sad stuff will be better then, at present I am trying to maintain a buzz).  lol

The version of The Parting Glass in Waking Ned Devine has been tweaked to fit the symphonic score, so many folkies get their knickers in a twist about it. I like it personally, but it has been altered. I leave you with my second favorite (but more "authentic") version by The Clancy Brothers and Louis Killen.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't the "true" version, but frankly, I liked its more grandiose tweaking. The folkies can untwist their own knickers, I'm not their bloody parent Tongue Out lol

I'm planning to include both Flogging Molly and The Dropkick Murphys in my blog tomorrow. Love both of those bands. Where would this country be without the Irish? Nowhere, that is where. That's why everyone needs to give em' some love. Not just tomorrow, but all the time. By the way,I'm a bit tipsy myself at present. Been sampling a bottle of Irish whiskey that I got today. It's Bushmill, but it's something new. Irish Honey it's called. Lotta whiskey companies are doing that. Honey gives it a smooth and lightly sweet flavor. Good stuff!

I'll have to try that myself. I love the sweet stuff when it comes to alcohol. My buzz from the two "Leprechaun Margaritas" I had at Ojeda's (nearby Mexican restaurant) wore off pretty quickly, probably cause I drank plenty of water and had Carne Asada Ranchero; I'll probably have a bit of St. Brendan's tomorrow. I can't drink much for unfortunate medical reasons, but I'm making an exception this weekend, in small doses. lol

I'll be posting any Irish metal I can find tomorrow (now today) along with the Dio stuff. Will check your blog for the Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys.

And this country would be nowhere without all of its immigrants, it's just an Irish weekend! haha As said in one of the Flogging Molly live videos I posted, "the only color that matters is the color of freedom." But, y'know still wear green if ya don't wanna get pinched. Wink

As I said on Tami's blog, I saw Flogging Molly live and I liked them then though any attempts to listen to them on youtube or whatnot have failed. I think it might be the bagpipes that turn me off from them. The pipes sounded much more natural when I heard it live.

Well, live videos never match a live experience, so I can see where you're coming from.

Dio! Yes! Look forward to that. You include two great drinking songs in the blog. The Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys songs to be exact. When Flogging Molly launches into that song Cain's Ballroom goes insane. It gets really nuts. Things got ugly one year when Cain's ran outta Guinness before the opening band even finished their set. You can't serve drunk Irish people Miller and Bud. You are asking for it!

That's not good. My older brother works at Cowboys Stadium, and I forget which moern country artist, but the entire stadium ran out of beer, and there was a record number of arrests...

Videomation looks like one hell of a game. Mario Paint was pretty cool. It came with a mouse! A mouse on SNES! I've seen some amazing stuff that people have done with that game on Youtube. Cool

Yeah, Videomation is basically a predecessor to Mario Paint, but not as deep (can't make your own music); I never really played it, but a mouse would have come in handy I imagine. lol

And I have seen some amazing Mario Paint songs as well my friend.Laughing
