Well good morning Pixlbiticans, it is a FREAKING WARM 72 DEGREES. Holy Cow, apparently that time change one hour brought an extra 20 degrees to the weather. I spent the past week sleeping with the window open and a fan going before yesterday losing the good fight and turning on the Air Conditioner. Oh yeah this is one of many things I like to blame on moving the clocks an hour forward. The only bright spot was that the majority of the midweek Swapmeet vendors were already setup by my usual time, and the sun was out. I hit the Swapmeet, visited a GameStop, and a Walmart all before the sun went down. I don’t know why that is a big deal, but it felt like one. So how are you Pixlbit? Are you good people ready for the weekend? I am happy it is here but I do have some work to do. I’m trying to create this border for a project, and I have some inspiration, which I finished, but I also need to place something in front of it to complete the look so I am drawing a blank. Hopefully I can think of something before I jump into my thinking room aka the shower. We shall see how it goes. Anyways let’s get started with this week’s Quick Hits!

The Kingsman: The Secret Service – There isn’t any plot spoilers
So last Sunday I decided to venture out to the local movie theater, and the last time I was there was in 2013. Yeah I don’t go to the movies often but I wanted to see this flick, and all films before noon were $5 so I can’t go wrong. Apparently my local theater no longer gives boxes so I had to eat my popcorn out of the bag (this feels so odd as someone who dumps their popcorn in a box.)
I liked the movie. It was fun, lots of explosions, fights, and laughs. I especially liked the girl with the blades for legs. I get what the movie was doing so I didn’t think it was as bad as some people said it was. Kingsman was poking fun at the James Bond flicks as well as any other action stereotypes, and at times it was mentioned in the film through witty banter, and daring action scenes. Heck I liked it so much I’m debating on seeing it again this Sunday. When I left the film I realized I do need another suit…and maybe an umbrella.
Real World Skeletons
In the final episode of this season’s edition of the Real World we see the roommates final week in the house and the story continues from last week’s episode where Tony decided to steal a bottle of wine from the bar of a club. Jason is complaining that his friend Nicole always backs them up, yet would probably yell at Jason. Nicole didn’t take any of this and decided to confront him and then boom, Jason pushes her and lifts her up (I didn’t see this part but it was talked about later on.) MTV Security comes in and splits them up. I don’t have a problem with people airing out their frustrations, and having an argument, what I have a problem with is fools taking it past this point and going physical. Totally uncalled for.
The other storyline is the move out and the other roommate with anger issues Bruno decides to leave the house without saying goodbye to the rest of the roommates. He talks about “letting them think he’s an ass,” and well everyone thinks that about him. I mean c’mon look how he acted throughout the season. He freaked out over a freaking hamburger, a playful slap, and his girl wanting to do something nice for him. Seriously? Why even be on the show? Like one of the roommates said, she’ll remember the house as being six roommates (there is seven in the cast.) I liked this season, and this is the first season I’ve watched in its entire run since the new cast in Las Vegas.
At the start of the season I had Violetta as my MVP because she seemed like the crazy fun one, but after this episode Nicole is my MVP. She stayed true to her word throughout the season, and she was the only normal one in the group.
Hells Kitchen
In another episode of You Can’t Cook, the men’s team couldn’t get out of their own way. Again, they are supposed to be professional cooks and they have no freaking idea on how to cook scallops, even after Gordon Ramsay showed them. I’m not the greatest cook but even I know if the dang thing is raw. Hell I should make some scallops for No Meat Friday.
Agents of SHIELD
Oh more excitement for Team SHIELD and there is a special guest from Warehouse 13, the show I called Agents of SHIELD without the Marvel License. Warehouse 13 was such a good show. Anyways there is something brewing within the SHIELD team, and it looks like there’s going to be some fun coming up for the season finale.
House of Cards
I watched three episodes, which is good because I am spacing them out instead of camping out in front of the TV with a bowl of popcorn like I did for the first two seasons. I’m also watching newly added episodes of Archer sprinkled in.
I miss Game of Thrones. With all the trailers and little bits of the story leaking out, the season premier needs to hurry up!
Randoms…
Random scam caller from Georgia said I won a trip to Vegas and a Cruise. While he was giving me his number I used Google to find out that SURPRISE, it was a scam. Yeah right as I called him out on it and said have a nice day I got another caller from South Carolina called. My favorite part is when scammer guy says "Oh this isn't a scam" Riiight. First indication that it was a scam was that he tried correcting my vocabulary (I always give a non-committal “Ok” when on the phone with these folks.) Both numbers have since been blocked. Next time I should go back to using my old dorm phone number for things…oh and sorry random freshmen that live in my old room.
I decided to give the Little Caesar’s Bacon Pizza a try. For those who don’t know, Little Caesar’s created this pizza where they sprinkle bacon on top of the pepperoni and surround the pizza with 3 feet of bacon. I bought into the hype and tried it and well its okay but it’s not worth the hype. I do like that every piece was a corner piece and after two pieces I was done. If I’m going with bad take out pizza, Pizza Hut is still my go to. Poppa John’s used to be good but the local spot changed and now its taken a back seat to The Hut.
So DeMarco Murray left Dallas. I am bummed but look the team decided it wasn’t going to pay what he thought he was worth. His only options were to take their offer, or go for more money on the open market. There was no chance he would go to Jacksonville, or Oakland/Los Angeles because those teams are black holes right now with a lot of holes to fill. He went to Philly, which is a division rival, and he get’s to play in their crazy Duck offense with his former roommate Sam Bradford.
I get why he left, and I don’t fault him. If a team is willing to give you 21 million guaranteed you have to take that kind of money, but leave saying “it wasn’t about the money.” It was about the money. If it wasn’t you’d still have a star on your helmet. Also this lie he’s telling people that its an opportunity to win Super Bowls. Really? A bad defense, offensive line, and a QB and fellow RB who get hurt with a gust of win your best chance to win a Super Bowl? That is better than a monster offensive line, pro bowl QB, TE, WR, along with other viable weapons on the offense? C’mon now. Dallas needs to fill holes in their defense and that money that was supposed to go to DeMarco will be better suited on the defensive side of the ball. Let’s not forget that this NFL Draft is filled with top running backs. You grab one of these kids, and platoon them with Randle, and Dunbar if he re-signs. Congrats Eagles fans, you got a hell of a player. I’m bummed that he left but I understand why he left and what the Cowboys had to do. Also to the fans that burn jerseys, what does this prove? Congrats on spending $100-300 on a jersey and then setting fire to it. Sports are not that serious.
UPDATE: There seems to be a story that Darren McFadden might be taking his talents to JerryWorld. I like this move. I think he is a good running back that will share the ball with Randle and hopefully a drafted running back cough Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, Jay Ajayi, Duke Johnson, Tevin Coleman, or TJ Yeldon cough
Twitter made some folks around the country mad when College Basketball tweeted this
I like our student section. They’re fun to follow on Twitter because all they do is talk trash, and they turned Viejas Arena into one of the toughest venues to play at in the NCAA.
I thought about buying this
I don’t have any Oyo Hockey players but I do have the Lego Ice Hockey set from a couple of years ago, and how freaking awesome would it be to have a Zamboni? I’ll wait for another price drop.
Once again Reddit makes me laugh
Pickups
Games
After the midweek Swapmeet I went to the local GameStop. I was looking around and a couple was camped out in the Wii section buying a ton of games. Good for them. Take advantage of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal going on right now. I thought about checking it out but I just don’t play enough of the Wii to justify adding more games. I like the games I currently have, and I think I only finished one of them. Anyways my local store finally had this game in stock
It was the last copy so I got the display box and GameStop employee said he wasn’t going to add that clear sticker to the box because collectors don’t like sticker. We both laughed and I said don’t worry I never return stuff unless its broken. So far I am already more than halfway through the story mode and if I really tried to finish this game, I could probably platinum it in a weekend, but I’m going to spread the gaming a bit.
Music
I bought this EP because the single Electric Love is used in the Hulu commercial, and that dang commercial was constantly playing this past week. Of course the minute I buy the EP, the commercial disappears. Seeing Stars is actually my favorite track and made it onto my gym playlist. They kind of sound like Passion Pit which I like and it wasn’t bad for $3.
Lego
Target has a lot of sets on Clearance, and Toys R Us is also having a Lego sale, and if you order more than $25 worth online for store pickup they drop $5 from the price (Yay no tax!)
From Target
The set itself isn’t bad, but I really wanted the figures. I would like Lego to release different costume Spider-man figures because this is my third or forth figure and they are all the same.
Not a bad set for $22.
I also added motorcycles to my Police Force
I’m thinking about using them in a motorcade, or Lego biker gang.
So after a couple of days I decided to grab these battle packs from Toys R Us. The in-store price is $13 each, and I am a sucker for Storm Trooper figures. I built one of the troop transports and it’s a solid little set. I was going to use the parts for something else, but this is a quality little set.
Fake Lego Lady didn’t have anything new other than League of Legends and Minecraft figures, which I don’t play either game, but a vendor in another aisle had a small table with a bunch of Hot Wheels. They were a $1 each so I picked these two up
Again I’m not a trying to jump into Hot Wheels collections, but I can’t say no to Batman. I also saw that there is a new “black chrome” Michael Keaton Batmobile so I’m on the lookout for that, hopefully the collectors here missed it. There is also a monster truck that I’d like to find but I think might be all sold out already.
Alright Pixlbit I am off to finish up my graphics project before I go out and enjoy the start to my weekend. Have a good weekend!
That’s all for now, more later!

Congrats on best student section! We had best average attendance in the Southland Conference ourselves.
Of course, that picture is probably from the SFA vs. Sam Houston rivalry game this past weekend. Probably weighted our average, but who cares? There were cars parked along University Dr. on the sides of the road all the way down to the Coliseum.
And of course, Brad Underwood is now the all-time winningest second-year coach in Division I history. Woo! Can't wait for 5PM tonight, we play another rival on ESPN3. Going to the bar and watching the game is last thing I'll do before spring break.
I'm surprised you've heard bad things about Kingsman. Everyone I know has raved about it. I think I'll see it over the break.
I finished episode 6 of House of Cards. I honestly prefer to have set dates for my streaming shows if they're new. I don't always follow those dates, but I do like to spread stuff out a little. Granted, I got through both seasons of OitNB in a weekend.
I love Little Ceasars. So cheap, yet oddly comparable to the more expensive chains. I had Pizza Hut's three-cheese stuffed crust the other day with a Balsamic drizzle. Drizzle was a bit too sweet, but I still like stuffed crust even after I learned it's just meleted string cheese.
As for Demarco, I was bummed at first because I love his workhorse mentality and because I don't like the Eagles, but honestly we need a pass rush and a decent CB more than we need him I think. McFadden seems like a good player and Andre Johnson is basically begging to come over here anyway, so I can't be mad at the front office for letting Murray go. But yeah, burning jerseys is just dumb. Classless.

Dude that is good stuff and hot damn over 1k for women's bball is impressive. When our women's teams were doing well we'd be lucky to hit that on a good night.
My brother was one of the folks who didn't like how it all wrapped up. Good thing I went to see it anyways because I want to watch it again.
I've been good with HoC and I've seen only one episode this week. This might change once Saturday hits, but I do have some new options on Netflix to check out.
Little Caesars is hit and miss here. The Hot and Ready Pepperoni is really good, but the cheese seems to look like a Domino's ripoff. I'm still loyal to Pizza Hut because their pizzas are always consistant.
I'm happy with the Cowboys current moves bringing in a pass rusher, some stability at linebacker, and hopefully they get some secondary help in the draft, and here's to hoping they draft a good RB (hopefully a certain one from either Georgia, Wisconsin, Boise, or Indiana)

I would love to have Melvin Gordon on the Cowboys. Would eliminate some cognitive dissonance for me having another Wisconsin boy on the Dallas team. lol

I'm rooting for Gurley but there are a lot of really good runningbacks in the draft, and with that line, any of them will be a good choice.

Hell's Kitchen is one of my guilty pleasures. I keep waiting for Gordon's head to explode, though. When that guy told Gordon he screwed up the scallops because Gordon made him nervous, I knew he was going home. He makes you nervous, yet you expect to be his headchef?! Seriously?
I really wish Jason would marathon all the remaining season 2 episodes of Agents of SHIELD so I have someone to discuss them with. Maybe I'm mmake him do that tomorrow when he comes over.
I don't eat chain retaurant pizza other than Pizza Hut. They're not bad, and the dough is made fresh twice daily. Or at least it used to be, when I worked there a million years ago.
As for football, I honestly don't care what's going on in Dallas. I'm more concerned with what's going on with Vince Wilfork. But hey, that's my local team :)

Seriously, its like the Producers purposely look for chefs who have problems in the kitchen. My friend and I have a running joke that any HK staff would undercook everything but burn sushi.
SHIELD is so much fun to watch and it looks like this season is going to be interesting.
I like Pizza Hut because their pizza is fast and always consistant, plus the people are nice. I actually started going back to Pizza Hut because its next door to GameStop, so I would order a pizza, and go check out some games.
I think more teams are copying what the Patriots are doing, by getting rid of vets before they start to break down in favor of younger cheaper talent. I didn't want to see Vince leave but I he should help that Texans defense.

I really didn't like Kingsman. I think the problem going in was that I had higher expectations because I really loved XMEN first class and I was expecting something with a more serious tone. Once I heard Samuel L. Jacksons stutter and unenthusiastic performance, the film pretty much lost me. The film goes from serious to just out right silly and it almost felt like they just gave up on the whole thing. It actually reminded me of those awful Charlies Angels moves. Glad you enjoyed it though, but considering the director did Kick-Ass and Lock Stock, I was expecting better.

Going into it I thought it would be like a cross between Bond, XMen and other action flicks. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the flick, and yeah it had its Charlie's Angel moments. Funny thing is, I also like those flicks too.

I really enjoyed The Kingsman. It was a fun movie. I didn't know anything going into it. I hadn't even seen a trailer. I hope more Kingsman movies are made.

I hope there are more Kingsman flicks in the works. The storyline is fun and the characters are likeable.

You must have a mega collection of Legos by now. Have you got some sort of mega city setup in you basement like that kid in the LEGO movie?

Haha oh no, most of the sets I buy are in plastic bins. The only sets I have assembled are the Millennium Falcon, The AT-AT, and the original Quinjet from Avengers along with the Batman and Ironman sets.

Have any of those nano legos? I think that's what they're called. My nephew has those. They're just smaller than regular legos.
