It truly feels like winter has passed. If it rears its ugly head one more time, I feel its presence will be short-lived. Today is just as warm and slightly windy as yesterday. It's time for me to bring out the denim shorts! And other shorts as well!
Two things I didn't see coming happened last year: a replacement for the 5/6th grade building (which I've been cleaning for the last year) was found. For the first two days, I was instead given the smaller areas of the 7th grade office and library and then on Wednesday, my boss hired someone for that. Now I've only got some out-buildings and my athletic facitilies to worry about. I can actually finish my work nights by midnight instead of 2-3 a.m. I can't believe this is happening. Now my only worry is that one or both of the new hires will quit sooner than I want them to (something I worry about every time a new employee is brought on).
I basically spent the entirety of Saturday catching up on laundry and playing Helldivers. Fuck the outside world. I had enough of it for one week. Helldivers with others is no less challenging but truly fun. Even made two more friends.
Recorded another episode for my Past & Pending Podcast last night. My previous guest, Adam Howard, returned for this one and we spent 3 hours talking about our choices but the surprising thing was how some of the tangents really expanded farther and longer than we anticipated, especially in the video game section. I think that's truly the longest segment of the episode. We talked about Nintendo 64 (Howard's favorite console) and its history and games, the Super Nintendo, Super Mario All-Stars & Super Mario World, the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Minecraft and, ahem, Helldivers. I need to get on editing this and I plan to bring the runtime down a bit but I'll keep the video game talk. Good times.
Anyway, have a good week!
