Tomb Raider Review

Nice job on this. You summarized the game really well. Lara has indeed returned to greatness with this adventure. You're right about the killing thing. In certain parts Lara becomes a one woman death machine. Slaughtering her enemies with wild abandon! It will be very interesting to see where she goes in the next game. Can't wait to see it.

You would probably enjoy it,Tami. It is turn based, with Aya taking turns against her foes. Unlike FF games where it is a party fighting them. Thanks for your comment on the music. I decided to do that every now and then. Just put up a couple of songs I'm listening to. Then if folks don't want to comment about the blog, they might like the songs. Enya has gone very New Age with her recent material. My favorite album of hers is The Celts. But Shepherd Moons is a very close second. I only recently discovered Lindsey Stirling. Had no idea until yesterday she did these game related videos. Pretty cool!

I like when they do that. Since I still play XBOX games I may check that one out. There were too many classics to let it go. The big, black monolithic beast still resides in my gaming rig today. Damn that thing is heavy!

There was a rumor floating about back in 1999 that Madonna had purchased the film rights to the game. Square denied it and nothing ever came of it. A blessing perhaps?

Noir is right. I really liked that element. They finally did it up right with L.A. Noire. I have watched some old black and white crime noir films. Really found them entertaining.

Companies need to realize that not everyone has great internet servive. I'm one of the lucky people living in a place with decent bandwidth to spare. People in remote areas are not so lucky when it comes to that. Why should they be denied a great game? Hopefully the disastrous launch of Sim City will make game companies reconsider going down this path to ruin. Great summary of this issue, btw. Well said and thought provoking.

I will do that. My son and I game each day. Have for a long time now. He's now 21 but we still enjoy our time together and share similar taste in games.

I had recently visited New York when I bought the game. So I liked the setting very much. So many interesting landmarks in NYC. Any wonder why so many movies are set there? It is alive and has a heartbeat that never stops. Music in the game was awesome, too.

The combat was superb. I enjoyed even the toughest battles very much. And the museum was one of the best parts of the game, absolutely.

I'm currently playing 3rd birthday and am digging it. The second game was a departure for the series. They tried to infuse more action into it. It lost some of what made the first so great.
