Phoenix Wright is the best! The series introduced me to VN games and I was hooked from the first game. I've played every game in the series (except Ace Attorney Investigations 2) and love 'em all!
I would never play a dating sim either. That's the worst kind of fantasy.

Not sure if this was the first game to incorporate QTEs, but it wouldn't surprise me.
The controller IS weird. It makes the N64 controller seem normal. I imagine they put the cord on the bottom just to be different bc there's no reason to do it!
A Shenmue reboot would be great. Shenmue was a little ahead of its time (the whole online thing was definitely too soon), but would be good for today.

This game is a chore if you want to stick it out. You're right, though, it would be right at home in today's world. A remake that fixes the problems I mentioned would be great.
Some of the dailogue made me laugh out loud bc it was soooo bad. "Uh, sorry, I'm too tired right now." Ryo replies, "I see." So stupid.
Haven't played the other games in the series. Don't think I want to, sadly.
Back then voice acting in games was amazing, but today it's all too common. The voices in Shenmue are just awful.
Love this game! Tough tough tough, but addicting, so it's hard to put down. They nailed it, though, which is why I love it so much. Don't have my own copy of it though, gotta get one sometime.
