If this game comes to the Wii in retail form, I might have to get past the awful title and buy it.

I think there's still a possibility of more secret characters, as the Mario Hoops website revealed the Final Fantasy characters before the game was released but not the other secret ones. I'd think they'd at least want to match the number of characters in the DS game...
Additionally, I'm disappointed to see the same Final Fantasy characters as the DS game. If they must shoehorn in characters that don't belong, at least use new ones. Though this is really a missed opportunity, as I'd think the only Square characters that Mario fans want to see are Mallow and Geno, and possibly others from Super Mario RPG.
Let's hope they show up on the Wii retail version too.
It's disappointing that a game with such a creative concept turned out so seemingly poor. The developer seemed so passionate about it in the journal, I wonder where everything went wrong. With how poorly this game is sure to sell, there's no possible hope for any kind of sequel that gets it right. I'm still going to pick it up on the cheap at some point, because I have to see the game for myself.
If this happens, the game should either be a $20-30 title or contain a lot more stages. The first game was essentially a shallow arcade game being sold for full price, so I didn't buy it until it was heavily discounted (I believe I found it for $12), and it took my sister and me only two evenings to beat it.
Hey, looks like this game isn't any better than a decade-old bowling game.
