I keep reading this title as "Fighting Street" on my iPhone, and I'm always disappointed when I realize my error.

Oh yeah, it's a great deal. I'm just insane. Don't mind me.
@Mike: Tell ya what, if you do that and feel the need to curse me, you can come on PixlTalk crew 2 and we can have a nice, (mostly) civil debate over it.
@Jason: Pfft! It's a Final Fantasy game, and I'm me. Preordered the collector's edition as soon as it was announced. Crazy? Probably. Regrets? Maybe. Is it something I need to do? Absolutely.
I remember when this game came out. I didn't play it more than a cursory try-out for product knowledge, but I happily suggested it to people looking for adventure games beyond Zelda.
It's certainly better than The Fellowship of the Ring game.
There's no timeline! It's like Nick said in this blog: this is all Nintendo mashing things together that weren't planned to go together because the fans think it's this big epic universe. It's not. The first game barely had a story. Back then, the concept of creating backstory and leaving hooks for sequels just wasn't there. As much as Konami tries to integrate those earlier Castlevania stories into the canon, you can pretty much throw out anything pre-SotN. I feel it's the same for Zelda, except you can throw out anything post-Link to the Past.
Thanks, Mike. I'm pleased with the way it came out. The show isn't what I have planned yet by far, but we'll get there little by little. I'll have to get back to you on my server, as the TOR servers tend to be wordy, and I can't remember where I'm at.
@Jesse and Mongoose: If they put Dan's dad in there, I'd like to see him be a total badass, and stoic like a samurai. He would be totally disappointed in his son, and he'd be the typical overly dramatic Japanese father figure that you see in so much fiction. Having an Akuma-style Instant Hell Murder attack would be a must.
@Jason Sakura is a great character in SF IV. I almost put Karin from Alpha 3 on this list, as I have a special place in my heart for her, but Alpha 3 is a little too "recent" compared to these other characters.
@Esteban: Yeah, I've always wanted an over-the-top, WWE type of wrestler in Street Fighter. Zangief using wrestling moves, but I've always seen him as more of a real wrestler than a pro wrestler. They tried to do something flashy with Rainbow Mika, but I just hate that character.
So far, I'm pretty impressed with it. Feels like a BioWare game through and through.
I don't know if this a big enough franchise to support a PS3 release, but I'm surprised that it never found new unlife on the PSP. Maybe the Vita will give us a resurrection?
You jest, but a futuristic Zelda done with a Phantasy Star aesthetic would be infinitely more interesting than another retread.
