The Zelda Timeline is Stupid and You Shouldn't Care About It

Posted on 12/23/2011 at 03:40 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I totally care about the Zelda timeline. I think Nintendo's always wanted to tie things together, but to me, makes a lot more sense. Ganon/Ganondorf has been around and defeated way too many times to be on just one timeline, so this makes sense.

Now, here's the question: Given how there's advanced technology early on in the timeline, and things seem less advanced as time progressed, which point on the timeline will Link become a space pirate of some sort?

Street Fighter: The AWOL Files

For some reason, I generally use Sakura. I also enjoyed the fellow in Street Fighter EX 3 who could "pop" hadouken like things a long distance away out of no where.

Old people can't figure out how to carry their 3DSs around with them. Just look at Nick for proof.

Did we mention a guy I went to high school with worked at Artificial Studios with Jason H and another guy you went to high school with? Bizarre.

And you can't get streetpasses if you never take your 3DS out somewhere with you! That just means you're broken!

Check and make sure the wifi switch is on with the GameStop 3DSs! I've been around multiple times where they haven't been!

The thing that troubles me, though, is that Chris got a streetpass within three minutes of entering the building. 20 minutes later, and I've got nothing from it. Weird stuff.

Looks like this is the new Pokemon game that's been rumored, so we probably won't see Pokemon Gray soon. Aside from that, I don't know how historical Japanese conquests really mesh with Pokemon. Weird. Absolutely weird. I'm actually not so sure this one will make it to the US, it should have a ton of dialog with a limited audience, even for a Pokemon game. Weird.

Overall Game of the Year 2011

That's right, Pale. Portal 2 got a ton of second place votes. My top pick was Bastion first, then Portal 2. Everyone had three votes, with the first awarded 3 points, the second awarded 2, and the third awarded 1.

The process really worked out, since I think Portal 2 generally has the most broad appeal, thanks to it's more unique FPS/puzzle hybrid gameplay and its sense of humor. I mentioned the game on PB & Jason the other day as a great gift idea, and in just about every gift guide PixlBit has posted, it was recommended. In fact, I left it out of mine just because the other guys talked about it so much. I'm shocked to hear it wouldn't have been in your top 5. Care to share the list?

Similar in thoughts to you, I used to shop at Rhino video games pretty frequently. It was low-pressure sales, and the store was possible. They hired people who knew about games, and often, I'd walk out with something I really hadn't considered very much. Eventually, they got bought out by GameStop, and most of the employees left and/or got fired because they didn't work well with the way GS operated, though they sold plenty of games that were already released. It's too bad, but I guess that's how it goes.

To be fair, the game is coming out in April, so they've got some time to figure out what XenoBlade is, but unfortunately, that's the reality. GameSpot hires people who they think can sell games, and it's working for them. I'm just not someone happy about it, though the general public doesn't seem to mind.
